Dr Payne and all the staff are friendly, efficient, and accommodating — not to minimize the excellent work that they do! My daughter’s treatment lasted longer than originally planned and they held true to the original quote for services. I messed up on the scheduling of one of her appointments but they were understanding and simply made a new one for her. You are all awesome!

I love the way they run this office. The staff is as good as the doctor. It’s all very professional and my kids feel unafraid here. Dr Payne has a wonderful manner and is extremely efficient. From the welcome at the door to the cookie on the way out, there isn’t anything we haven’t liked about this office. If you have to have braces, this is the right place. My eldest just had hers off and her smile is stunning. The middle, with the biggest problem is happily being fixed now and the youngest will be joining them in a few years. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

He gave me a treatment plan and a quote for services the day of my consultation and got me in right away to put my braces on. So far he is doing a great job as he is taking a comprehensive approach to place each tooth where it needs to be and not cutting corners. He also came highly recommended from a friend of mine.

Honestly I am not a fan of orthodontists, but this place is a exception. They have a amazing staff and the office leaves you with a homey feel. When I come here I know that I am going to get the best service from a local and professional office. It’s easy and convenient and it makes you feel welcome. American River Orthodontists is a family friendly environment that’s great for any age!

Super friendly staff that put my dentist fearing 9 year old at ease off the bat. Dr. Payne is easy going and has a great disposition too.

My daughter is not afraid to go see them, she is only 7 but due to some dental issues had to get braces. I went to Dr. Payne after my daughter’s dentist made me feel terrible for not starting my daughters braces. She refereded me to 2 orthos, one was her husband in El Dorado Hills. I was told she needed all kinds of work.
While getting my teeth cleaned, I asked my dentist who her kids go to. She told me Dr Payne. She told me you should always go to more then one orthodontist.
Dr Payne was my second. He told me the complete opposite of what I had been told and pointed out different things. He also told me she wouldn’t be ready for a year. Dr Payne didn’t want to just take my money or put my daughter through unnecessary treatment. I really like Dr. Payne and the staff are all nice. I’ve seen his work, and his honesty.

My son got braces here and they straightened his teeth. Now he has a retainer. He came with a recommendation from my dentist. We’ve been very happy with his services. Relatively easy to get an appointment too, which is lovely.

The moment I stepped into Dr. Michael Payne’s office for just the consultation, I felt comfortable. There was no doubt in my mind about the adventure I would have with my braces for the next 2 ½ years.
You are always greeted with a warm welcoming from Bailey (formerly Erika too, who was there through most of my apts). Bailey is very good about knowing and remembering what days you like or what works best for your individual life/​schedule, it’s a plus for sure!
Even though Cheryl starts you out with the paper work and gets you all set up with Dr. Payne on the financial side, she is always still there through your visits with a smile as the staff works on your adjustments.
Dr. Payne is Amazing and such a perfectionist! He cares about your teeth and their movement as much as you do with every appointment! He speaks with you and keeps you informed on the process every step of the way and explains things in a language you can understand and remember.
The staff that Dr. Payne has to back him up is such a perfect fit together! Annette, Christina, Jenny and Becky all work as a team giving you their undivided attention during your appointment and also keeping you informed on what’s going on through your adjustments. These ladies are always in great spirits, laugh, smile and you can tell they enjoy what they do.

Kevin and I will miss my monthly visits and will never forget my wonderful experience with your office and the connections I have walked away with! Michael Payne and his staff at American River Orthodontics came highly recommended, and after two years under their care I can also highly recommend them. I always felt informed, well cared for, and part of a happy family. Starting with the cheerful Erica in scheduling, the consultation with Cheryl and Dr Payne, to the photographs, measurements, xrays, dental impressions, (and in my case) the braces and then retainers, the doctor and his staff are friendly, patient and instructive every step of the way. I could not imagine a better experience.
