History

Established in 2013.

Nate first discovered photography as a hobby after his father gifted him his first DSLR camera while in college. Shortly after, he began taking headshots for business clubs and dabbling in portrait photography. It was at this time that a desire to pursue professional photography began. Nate’s enthusiasm for photography was contagious, and Jessi invested in her first camera shortly after. After spending some time as portrait and event photographers, the world of wedding photography remained glued in the back of our minds. We knew the job of capturing a wedding was not one to be taken lightly. We understood the job would take tons of work, but we were confident that we could handle this new and exciting adventure together. In 2013, we began our quest into the world of wedding photography and started Nate and Jessi Photography.

We are both self-​described nerds; Nate in business and Jessi in science. Nate received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Sacramento State. He is obsessed with spreadsheets, flow charts and to-​do lists. Jessi received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from UC Davis and absolutely adores all kinds of animals, yet she has a special place in her heart for dogs… and snakes!!! Together, we are a perfect match, complimenting and balancing each other in many unique ways.

We have had the pleasure of having Nate and Jessi photograph our family and our students at our martial art school each year for a number of years now. We keep asking them back each year because they are reliable and produce great results in so many ways. Their knowledge of photography and creativity they bring to each photo shoot is quite impressive. They are very efficient as they work as a team and yet you never feel rushed. They have always proven to be punctual before and during the photo shoot and all the way through the process of delivering the photos to us and each of the families. All of these things are important and should be considered when deciding on a photographer, but the one thing that is most important and stands out the most is they have a real passion for capturing that moment and delivering it consistently. That is a true skill. I recommend Nate & Jessi Photography to everyone. You will love what they can do for you.

Nate and Jessi are hands down the most professional photographers around. They are really flexible, friendly, and have an eye for capturing the most magical photos. Nate and Jessi photographed my maternity photos, my daughter’s first photos at weeks old and the most memorable day of my life, my wedding in April 2015 and so much more! They put so much love into their work. They are both very creative, super nice and welcoming. I can’t bring myself to shoot with any other photographers. I highly recommend them!

Nate and Jessi have worked their magic for us on two family photo sessions. Our photos turned out wonderfully, despite the fact that they included a feisty toddler and distractible baby! I enjoyed the fact that they work as a team because they each bring their own insight and creativity to the shoot and we end up with a variety of great poses (plus it doesn’t hurt that one could wrangle the kids while we did couples photos). It isn’t often that you run into such a great team! They are so professional, accommodating, and quick to deliver the final product. We can’t recommend them enough! We look forward to having them capture more of our family’s memories for years to come :)
