My fiancé and I had to bring our puppy in today. We saw Dr. Chancellor and she was absolutely amazing! You can tell that she loves what she does and she genuinely cares for the animals. She answered every question we had and explained everything that she was going to do during the visit. I’m so thankful that we brought our puppy in and he was well taken care of today! Everyone from the front of the building to the back was very helpful and so very friendly!

This review is for our first visit. We had not established a new veterinarian for our dogs since moving to Sacramento. Our older dog became sick (vomiting and diarrhea) and being a weekend we didn’t think we would be able to find a veterinarian in the area that could see us. Not only does Natomas Animal Center have weekend hours, they don’t charge extra for weekend appointments.
The place was very busy and we had to wait a little bit to be checked in, but it was worth the wait. Dr. Chancelor came in and got right down on the ground with our dog and made him feel comfortable with her. She explained what she was doing and options for treatment.
The next day, they called to check on how Mckenzie was doing and if we had any follow-​up questions.
For the service we received and medications, we felt the fees were reasonable.

We travel 45 minutes to take our pets here. They are wonderful! The vets are great and the staff is very nice. The facility is clean and cheerful. You can tell that they truly care about animals. Would not take my pets anywhere else and I recommend them to anyone seeking veterinarian care!

Our loving family bear (Bailey) passed away peacefully at the Natomas Animal Medical Center last night. Dr. Chancellor is a true saint and was a calming presence in that heartbreaking moment. She stayed over 3 hours after closing so that I could drive home from the Bay Area to say goodbye to him. She never rushed us, explained the entire process, and was everything you would hope for when losing a loved one. Words can not express how grateful we are.

I absolutely love this vet! My puppy struggled with demadex and pappalomavirus and giardia for the first 7 months of her life. I tried Banfield and about 5 different vets in the Sacramento area and about $ 5,000 later, she was still sick. I took her here after calling and talking to one of the vet techs and my puppy has been healthy ever since! They are so understanding of my college student financial limitations and are so amazing with my dog. When I have to travel for work, my pup always boards here and they love treat her like the princess she is. Thank y’all so much for being so amazing! Y’all have truly saved my dog’s life and I am so grateful!!!

I would NOT recommend this place, and will not be bringing my dog back. My dog had and eye ulcer, after three visit of going to this location on the 3^rd revisit we seen dr Chancellor, she took our dog in back room without asking if we wanted to go, 10 min later a technician came out and said they wanted to run some test! (Without explaining why or what the test were for) we then asked to speak to dr Chancellor and seemed annoyed that we wanted to ask some questions. After she convinced us to stain our dogs eye to see if it healed, she then came back out 5 min later and said it was completely better. After paying for our 3^rd revisit. We thought it would be the last one only to find out my dog still had a painful open ulcer that she completely over looked or just disregarded. Long story short I spent of 300 dollars there for absolutely nothing, and have now had my dogs eye injury repaired at a different location.

I take my dog here at least once a year for an annual check up. Most of the veterinarians here are nice and really do love animals.
They offered to watch my dog for while he was on medication since I was going to be at work and I was worried how the medication would have on him. So thoughtful!
They do make judgement calls if you decline any mediation or treatment. My dog was on 3 different types of medication, including antibiotics. I didn’t want too much drugs in his body at the same time so I declined the 4^th medication and I was hoping the antibiotics could be effective. Eventually I came back to get that medication. One of the veterinarians made judgmental remarks to me saying I let my dog suffer since I didn’t get that medication and I didn’t bring him in for another check up (aka give them more money). It was very unprofessional to judge me like I was a bad owner. At least I take my dog to the vet unlike a lot of other dog owners. Maybe if they could provide better diagnostics and treatment for my dog, I don’t have to keep coming back and spending hundreds of dollars to their business each visit.

Our service cost was $ 258 but on the credit card they charged us $ 285 by mistake when I went to get my refund they said they don’t give refunds despite them admitting to making a mistake so now I have to go through the credit card company to do a chargeback. I will not be returning to this shady business again.

My cat needs a rabies shot, they said it’d cost $ 14. I called back couple days later to make the appointment, they told me it’ll be $ 15. During the exam, the doc up sale the blood work and urine sample. My bill came out to $ 190. When i looked at the rabies shot section, i was charged $ 21. Not cool.
The wait was super long and the clinic wasn’t clean. A lot of pet hair flying every where.

I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am that I found this clinic. I have been through hell trying to get a hold of the vet that we have always took our animals to when we are growing up but she’s always booked and I couldn’t wait any longer. Then we tried Banfield up the street and they are a complete rip off. But that’s another story.
I was so thrilled being able to get an appt for my pug the same day I called. I felt very welcome the entire visit and I knew they genuinely cared for my animal. That to me is the most important thing. Dr. Chancellor was Walters (my pug) vet. She was so kind and was very honest with me in what she thought was necessary and wasn’t necessary. She didn’t push anything she didn’t think was necessary just to add to the price tag of the visit. When she brought me the estimate, I almost started crying. It was way less than what I was expecting and about $ 800 dlrs less than what Banfield was trying to get me to pay. Our sweet pug is finally feeling better and I am so relieved. They definately have a lifetime patient. And we will always recommend them.

We took our green cheek conure there due to a leg injury — this place was open on Sunday. Dr. Rivera was extremely nice and helpful. Although, I still had to take the bird to an avian vet the next day (she was picking on that leg too much), I had to come back week later (on Sunday, again). One of the doctors at Bird & Pet clinic in Roseville did and extremely crappy job on changing the bandage, making it worse. One of Med Center assistants, Angel, made an awesome bandage for a little one. Thank you guys!

Our cat is three years old and was never neutered properly (so he’s been acting like a full blown male for three years, you can imagine how fun that’s been). When we went to various clinics in Davis, where we were told he simply had behavior issues.
Within five minutes of the doctor walking in, she noted the various testosterone based physical symptoms and started explaining the various ways we can move forward.
A first round of SSRI’s and a easy refill to go with it through them and their partnership with rayleys, I have to say this has got to be the best clinic I’ve ever been to.
P. s., overnight boarding for cats starts at $ 15, the cheapest I’ve been able to find anywhere near here

I saw a coupon for $ 30 off but couldn’t remember where I saw it. Called down to the office to ask where it was published or if I even needed to show it. They didn’t know where it was published and said that I needed to clip it.
In a day where businesses even accept competitors coupons, this establishment needs to improve their customer service to gain any business.
Go down the street and get better service

This review is a long time in coming. I had to take my English Bulldog to a vet today and contemplated taking her to Natomas Animal Medical Center because I couldn’t get an appointment at three other vets. Then I thought, even thought this is the closest vet and they accept walk-​ins? Why would I go to a vet just because they are available, when I know they are only interested in running test after test, and never seem to be able to actually treat the animal effectively? I opted to go to another vet across town.
I started periodically going to this vet about 5 years ago when I moved to the Natomas area as it was recommended by a friend. Unfortunately, my friend’s Boston Terrier died from seizures under their care as they would only keep ordering expensive tests, but would not treat. When my friend finally took her dog to an emergency vet as her dog was having violent seizures that eventually killed her, she was told that the dog should have been treated with medication much earlier.
I had numerous experiences with my three dogs, including the death of one and the near death of another which lead me to believe that this is the worst vet office I’ve ever been too. Plainly put, either motivated from profit or incompetence, they order more and more expensive tests and never seem to know what is wrong with your pet. I took one Chihuahua here who almost died of an infection because they only gave him a shot of antibiotics, but no continued oral antibiotics. My other Chihuahua died of seizures here in their care while until the very end they were wanting to run more and more expensive tests that another vet told me were not needed. Natomas wouldn’t treat in the first place and only wanted to run more and more tests.
I took my English bulldog here two years ago when she became very ill. We explained the symptoms and we were told it would be about $ 1000 in tests before they could make a diagnosis. By this point, I had lost faith in this vet and took my dog to another vet that accurately diagnosed her immediately, scheduled emergency surgery, and saved her life.
So, take your animal here in an emergency and expect they will test the animal to death. Maybe they are good at maintenance, but they appear to be completely incompetent with diagnosing conditions that other vets seem to be able to diagnose easily. Take a pet here at your own risk!

Very happy with this vet clinic.
I came in today for my cat, Boots, to get neutered. I chose this place initially because it was much cheaper than other places, and unlike those other vets, they do not require an initial exam if they haven’t seen your pet before. Which is great for if you’re on a budget. Luckily they also accept Care Credit. The staff was very kind and friendly, and made the whole process as swift and as easy as possible. They were very accommodating with my schedule. I go to school in the morning and said I would try to make it by my appointment time, but that I might be a few minutes late. It was not a problem for them at all and I was very appreciative for that!
I also got a rabies shot for my cat and an e-​collar. They did not pressure me to purchase more things which I really liked. The office is very clean and the area is really nice. I will definitely be back! I recommend this place if you’re looking for a cheap neuter for your cats!

I’ve been bringing my «dogter» Luna here since I moved to Sacramento in 2010. My husband and I travel quite a bit and sometimes I have to kennel her. This is the only place I call! During the holidays, I reserve a few months in advance to make sure she has a spot because it fills quickly.
If there were a slight con, it would be the wait. It seems, at least to me, when the front is crowded and people are waiting, they should have an additional person help the front office. HOWEVER, it’s not annoying to the point that I want to go somewhere else.

My dog was sick. He had giardia as a little puppy I try to prevent him from ingesting or being exposed to any type of harmful environments. Unfortunately it was inevitable. My pup was diagnosed and I brought him here.
Prices are a little expensive but I have health insurance for my pup so it all works out. The doctor is so attentive and full of joy when it Comes to the pups. The vet tech assistants are also overjoyed when seeing each and every patient.
My only thing is the wait it takes to process each animal for the ladies at the front desk. I know paperwork should be thorough. But they take 10 – 15 minutes or more per patient both times I visited. Or they’ll sit there and not notice you or ask if you need assistance because they’re too busy filling out paperwork. Also, they spelled my name wrong it was a strange situation for someone to take that long to create my profile and then spell my name wrong in the midst of it. However The lady with the long curly dark hair is very fast and efficient &speeds up the wait. Thank you for everything!

I love these guys so far. My daughters found a stray, malnourished kitten. We took her here for a check up. We were seen by Dr, Ziedens. She was great! I felt she was very thorough without trying to push any unnecessary (and possibly expensive) procedures on us. She automatically gave us a «new patient» discount. so the exam itself was around $ 15. We got out of there for under $ 100 total after an ear mite test, ear mite medication, ear cleaning (which was needed BADLY), worm medication, and flea medication (she was too small for shots) along with some canned food. Dr. Ziedens called a few days later (or the next day?) to see how the kitten was doing. (I called back to report her progress, but doubt the message ever made it to Dr. Z since the receptionist never asked for mine or the kitten’s name).
We went back to board her a few weeks later. I thought the price was reasonable– $ 15 per night. She had to have her shots to stay. One was $ 15, the 0ther $ 14. She was too young for a rabies shot ($ 14 or $ 15) so she couldn’t sty with the rest of the cats. We also brought our old cat in for boarding. They treated her for fleas (as she had disappeared for 3 weeks before showing back up) and didn’t charge any extra. Food was also included in the $ 15 nightly cost (but they will feed them your food if you bring it in).
In order to be boarded, they need to be examined by the vet first. This did not cost extra. I believe it was Dr. Rivera that did the examination. She spoke with us both when we dropped the cats off and when we picked them up. She was very personal and competent. Both doctors made it clear that we could call if we had any questions or concerns.
The only con I experienced so far is there can be a little bit of a wait in the front office. They seem to be busy with limited staff helping up front.

Not great! I honestly cant say if it all boils down to horrible customer service, or if the vets also dont know what they’re doing.
We took our dog in because he was itching a lot and clearly uncomfortable. First, the vet had us try antibiotics, and then steroids when that didnt work. Well, that didnt work either, so the vet had us fill out additional paperwork to pinpoint the location of the itching, and then suggested a trial hypoallergenic food diet based of where our dog was itching. I wish this option was first offered before the expensive and unnecessary drugs!
So we ordered a small bag of the hypoallergenic food from the vet. After three weeks, we still didnt see any improvement with our dog’s itching so I tried to get a hold of the vet to find out if we should continue the diet, in which case I needed to order more food. I placed three calls over the course of a week to try to reach the vet, who never returned my call. Finally, by my third call the receptionist had me speak with a tech. However, I had to explain it all for a fourth time to the tech since the receptionist didn’t bother to relay any information including my name to the tech.
After the tech pulled up our dog’s file he explained we needed to do the trial for at least 6 weeks before we could make an assessment on if it was working. Well that would have been great to know from the outset so I could have ordered more food in the beginning. When I explained that we only have one or two days of food left, he said they didnt have the food in stock either and it takes several days to get an order in.
That would have been fine had the vet returned my initial call a week ago. After I explained the situation he offered to call their sister clinic to see if they had any of the food in stock. It turned out they had a small bag, which is great so we dont have to start the trial all over again.
Based on our experience I dont trust the vet really cares what’s going on with our dog. Once I get the additional food I’ll definitely get a second opinion!

Very compassionate vet Dr. Rivera. Brought in my pup and they were very sweet and informative. They called a few days after to check in to see how my baby was feeling. Will be coming back=)
