Natural Stone Design Gallery

Three trips to the gallery so far (anticipate one more to pick up our order) and very satisfied with outcome of each visit.
On our first visit, we just wanted to browse and try to narrow down our options. We were offered help and then allowed to look around to our hearts’ content. The second time around, we asked for help coordinating a tile with trim. Kersten was fantastic. She really listened to what we wanted and made suggestions, pulling down tiles and making it easy for us to visualize and compare. We made a decision, and on Kersten’s suggestion took home samples to see how our selection looked in our space. To our surprise, we found it didn’t quite work. Hence, the third visit.
Again, Kersten was understanding. Pulled more tile samples for us. This time we took home several samples, and one of them turned out to be perfect. Kersten really took a lot of time and care with us, even though ours was a very small project. By serendipity we were able to take advantage of NSD’s once-​a-​year sale. So far, very happy customers.

Three visits, three purchases. First around 2010 was backsplash tile we ended up not using. Still hanging on to it hoping to find a use.
I late 2013 we bought floor tile we just put down. I can’t remember the sales woman but it looks great and our installer liked it. And, they gave us a good price. So…
…back today. Minor ding because they could not search and find our receipts from 13 months ago. Heidi recognized the tile, almost nailed the product code, took a photo of the tile we brought in and emailed to their vendor. Discontinued but 170 s.f. left. Now just 90 s.f.
Low pressure sales, great customer service, great product.

Great selection of tile and stone, great granite sales and fabrication department. Most of the employees were fantastic and extremely helpful! Great company, we highly recommend!

My husband and I arrived on a Saturday thinking they’d be open. Due to the holiday weekend they were closed, however the owner was present when we arrived in the parking lot. He so easily could of said sorry folks we’re closed but instead opened up the gallery for us and allowed us to browse. At that point we were returning customers but now we’re customers for life. So grateful for that sort of consideration and generosity.

They made it right. They contacted us and credited us the difference in the price on the tile we bough. I love the selection and I am happy with the ability to pay attention to my needs as a customer which is to honor your original price that you quoted. Thanks N.S.D!!!

Absolutely shocking customer service. Have spent 10’s of thousands on granite, and stone for several remodels. They are refusing to take a return, when the stone never left their facility, and was bought without my permission by a contractor.
Unbelievalbe. Steer way clear of these folks as their scruples leave much to be desired.
There is another similar review here so I guess we should have considered ourselves warned:-(

Everyone here is so friendly and helpful! They have such a large selection that it could be quite overwhelming if you don’t have an idea of what you want. I spent quite some time looking through all of the tile samples and pulling many choices. They were super helpful in providing me with prices and samples at no charge! I decided on a specific tile choice for my backsplash and they were able to hold it through the weekend to ensure the manufacturer had enough stock to fill my order. Doesn’t get much more accommodating than that! They even have an area upstairs with low quantity/​sale tile that helps if you’re shopping on a budget. I went in on a Saturday and they were quite busy, so make an appointment if you’re in a hurry or want to ensure someone is available to help!

Love this place! Tim is fantastic, though everyone is very helpful. As a designer, this is the first place I go and almost always the only place. They are competitive with pricing and the selection is the best. I’ve never had a problem with any order in the 6 years I’ve been going there and I place orders several times every year! Love them!

By far the best tile showroom in Sacramento. I always make an appointment before I bring a client in so that I’m sure to have someone on hand to help with options and pricing. If you’re looking for slabs be sure to ask for Ruth!

The selection of tile is great, but the service is the complete opposite! I have been to the showroom 3 times and only once was it good. The first time I felt like no one would help me and I felt like the sales people looked at me as if I was too young to afford their expensive tile. I found tile I liked and took a sample home. I called about a week later to ask questions about the tile I wanted to buy. I informed the lady I will be paying cash for my tile so she told me I would need to come in and put at least ½ down for me to order. I went in and gave them $ 500 cash and was told my tile would be in on Friday (it was Tuesday when I ordered). On Friday morning I received a voicemail stating my tile was on backorder for 10 weeks. Why did anyone let me leave without checking stock?! The best part was when I called them back, the lady on the phone seemed concerned that they would need to refund me my cash and told me she would call me back about it. They called me the next day! Terrible service and business practice. I am so disappointed after seeing their great selection

My husband had trouble with the math, figuring out how much marble tile to order based on his design for the bathroom floor. The sales person said she would do the calculations for him. She told us how much to order for each type. I thought it sounded expensive but we put the order in. Attentive until they got the credit card run — then less inclined to help, attitude changed. We laid the tile and found that we had almost twice as much as we needed of the main part of the floor. That part of the design was over ordered by almost 100%! Another very expensive part (small glass tiles) was also substantially over ordered. The sales woman (who did the math) said she would call the manufacturer but she wasn’t hopeful. She proceeded to insinuate that we had cherry picked the patterns/​colors we wanted in the marble and were returning the rest. The boxes were unopened, so that would have been tough. The manufacturer refused to take it back. I called Marty, the manager. I pointed out how this looks — they have us put through an order that is grossly overestimated and won’t take it back — dishonest at best, fraudulent at worst. He said, no — the sales people know not to do the math because they can’t be responsible for these situations. He actually said that he gets calls like mine every week. (Might have considered keeping that little tid bit to himself.) Wouldn’t that make you wonder — is your sales staff actually doing the math to make the sale and telling you otherwise? How are they incentivized. Something isn’t adding up unless, of course, Marty believes that a large sample of the population is dishonest. He said she should not have insinuated that we cherry-​picked the tile but there was nothing he could do. We were stuck with about $ 300 worth of extra tile (unfortunately, just short of what we would need to redo another small bathroom — we checked). He was adamant that «they know not to do the math for customers». I suggested that they might consider adding some kind of disclaimer to their paperwork (as opposed to taking «these type of calls» every week) stating that they can not be responsible for calculating quantity. Marty thought that was a good idea. (He could have been placating me — might just be part of the business they run!)
