We fabricate custom, hand crafted artificial eyes, as well as ears, noses and facial prosthetic devices using the latest 3D technology and 3D prining techniques. We are fine artists and highly trained technicians. Eric Lindsey is a Board Certified Ocularist with ten years of experience and trained by Phillip Danz. Janet Chao completed a master’s degree in anaplastology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

History

Established in 1976.

Phillip Danz was trained by his father and served the west coast for over 40 years as a board certified ocularist. Mr. Danz retired in 2008 when Eric Lindsey became a BCO. Eric continues to serve patients with the same concern that is Mr. Danz’ legacy. Janet Chao began her apprenticeship in 2011 and has expaned our services to patients in need of facial prosthetic restoration.

When my son was diagnosed with cancer it was a huge blow. Everything changed and everything became more difficult. Eric has been one of the many in our life that has made the burden a little easier.
We have to drive 2.5 hours and 130 miles from Northern Nevada and Eric and his staff have worked with us to arrange scheduling on many occasions. He is amazing with children (a huge plus because my son is 2) and an incredibly talented prosthetician.
We will not go to anyone else.

This is definitely the only place I will ever be going to get my son’s prosthetic eyes.
Let me start from the beginning. My 9 month old son was diagnosed with a cancer that caused him to lose his eye back in February. When we were looking around our general area, there was really no one who did prosthetic eyes where we were. There was one company, but they had an F with the BBB and a 13⁄100 on another website. Plus they only came in my area 4 times a year. Not exactly the most appealing information to find.
Since this was for my young son, I had asked many areas what they would do. Most of them said put him under anesthesia. My son already goes under anesthesia every 4 weeks, so that was definitely a no.
Then we found Eric. He was kind enough to email me back and forth over a period of a few weeks to try to find me a way to make this work. He understood my situation, and was more than willing to accommodate me. Since we had to drive 3 hours to get to his office, he gave us an expedited procedure of only 2 days. Which is completely incredible for how amazing the eye looks.
We are also out of state patients, but he has an office in our state — just 9 hours away. Since they have an office in my state, they offered to bill my insurance as if we were here instead of in California.
Eric is extremely professional, the staff is also very kind and understanding of small children. I had to bring my 2 year old with me as well. They have toys for children, they have water available, and are very kind people. I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else!
