Dammit this place closed. I’m incredibly sad, it was starting to become one my favorite phở destinations. RIP Phở Anh Duc East West Café. You will be missed.

Ate lunch here about 1:15pm * * * * SERVICE: I walked in and started heading for the counter not knowing if I had to order first then seat myself, but the guy behind the counter asked if it was for here or to go and I said here. He then offered a booth to sit at and brought me a menu. He was nice when he came back to take my order, no extra conversation but he wasn’t rude or rushing me. * * * * ATMOSPHERE: The dining room was very clean and decorated nicely. There was only one other customer when I got there and then nobody after he left so it was quite. There was a show/play on the television so at least I was entertained. The booth I sat in didn’t happen to have chopsticks or the sriracha sauce so I had to get up & grab some from another table myself. * * * * * FOOD: I ordered the #7 grilled pork spring rolls(crêpe) and the #32 Beef w/Beef Ball Phở. They brought out my appetizer first so I had time to start eating that before they brought my soup, unlike some places who bring everything at once. Everything tasted really good. The broth was well seasoned and there were plenty of noodles in the small bowl. The spring rolls were nice and tightly wrapped the way I like them and the peanut sauce was good. When I was finished, I didn’t wait for them to bring the check, I got up & paid at the counter and tried to make conversation by commenting on their full ice cream counter but he wasn’t having it. Not sure if he didn’t understand me or just not talkative but that’s OK. Next time I’ll save room for dessert too!

This place is eh~ just okay. I came here twice. The first time I didn’t order anything. I just sat down and while my friend ate and the second time, I ordered to-go. Both times that I came, the restaurant was pretty empty. There was at least one or two people considering how spacious the restaurant is. When I came here, I ordered the rice plate with assorted vegetables, grilled pork, and shrimp. I would say for price range, this place is a bit pricier than other Vietnamese restaurants I’ve been to, especially on Stockton boulevard. Anyways, aside from that, my rice plate was okay. It wasn’t spectacular and the meat was a bit plain to me. Service was not bad either. The waiter seemed nice and attentive. The cool thing about this place is the ice cream! One dollar scoop I think AND they have green tea. I didn’t get it but if I ever come here next time I would definitely try. Anyways, overall a three!

Spicy Lemongrass Chicken — Delicious Bön Bo Hue — My sister loved it Chow Fun — I had a few bites and thought it was just okay, but my nephew liked it. Shakes — I had a sip of my sister’s and it was really good. I’m not sure, but it tasted like they put real ice cream in there. The service was a tad bit slow, even though it wasn’t busy, but the server was pretty nice. I’ll definitely go back and try more dishes.

Came here for first time and from the reading the reviews, Bun Bo Hue was highly suggested, so i gave it a try and it was pretty good. I still prefer Phở King II more. However, I loved how the noodles were perfectly cooked, not too soft and not too hard!

I came here after work for some bun bo hue since my friend told me it was good and that she would prefer it over PK. I heard it was spicy and filled with meat, which is somewhat true… at least you don’t get the big ass pork leg in it that always scare the jabeezies out of me and the broth was spicy but I was expecting more heat. A small is pretty small but fulfilling… I would still prefer Phở King’s bun bo hue any day… just the right size, flavor of the broth and right amount of meat… I just thought the broth here didn’t taste like how an actual bun bo hue should taste like… I mean it was okay but not on point. I thought it was funny that they only had three«West» dishes on the menu which only consisted of chicken wings and fries. I was expecting more because I thought they served burgers and burritos here? Or was it the Elk Grove location? This location is quite dead as well… I came in around 6pm yesterday and no one was there… more customers came along after 30 mins. The service here was good, maybe because there were no other customers there but our food came our promptly. They also have a variety of ice cream flavors at the register in the back. I would probably come back if I have to but not for the bun bo hue for sure.

I’ve loved everything I’ve had from East West Café. I usually get phở of some kind, which is always great. I love their broth more than any other place in Sac. The noodle dishes are great, too. I feel strange getting american food there, but when I do, that’s great too. They’re always very friendly, and provide great service.

My boyfriend and I have frequented many a Vietnamese restaurant near and around the very popular street known as Stockton Blvd. When this restaurant recently opened, we had to try it out. Their sister restaurant by the same name is located in Elk Grove, CA. We have eaten there several times and have never been disappointed. So it was a pleasant surprise for me to have an eatery much closer to where I live. Upon entering, I noticed that the place had a comfortable atmosphere. A few flat screen TVs were showing some Vietnamese musical entertainment. We received the same friendly greetings as their other restaurant, and seated right away. I ordered shrimp Phở and my boyfriend had beef, along with some shrimp spring rolls as an appetizer. Our food was served promptly, steaming hot. A mound of fresh, leafy greens were placed on the table for our use in customizing and flavoring the Phở. The broth was very flavorful, and my large soup bowl was filled with a generous quantity of vegetables, noodles and shrimp. This is exactly how I prefer my Phở. Now I have read a few other reviews that mention lack luster service here. While the wait staff are still very nice, I have to somewhat agree. Half way through my meal, I needed a refill of Diet Pepsi. It took a long time for anyone to notice my empty glass, and then when we were finished eating, had to wait even longer to get our check. There were very few customers in the restaurant at the time, so it wasn’t like they were busy. One of the waitresses was reading a book and probably immersed in a more interesting story than having to wait on some boring customers. While I can completely empathize, some of us customers want to eventually get home to our fantasy lives too! Ha! Ha! But don’t get me wrong, our meal was very good and I will be coming back to try other dishes. After all, it’s the food that counts!

Again, are all you Unilocalers high on something when you wrote the rave reviews about the bun bo hue? I came here specifically because of the reviews I read about the«#21» and let me warn others out there not to fall for this trap. The so called plenty of meat? What meat? Luckily I only ordered the small bowl just as a sample because so many times have I been fooled by my fellow Unilocalers. What I would considered meat are edible pieces. All the pieces I was served with were fatty, with so many inedible pieces for my taste that my bowl of spicy beef soup became a vegetarian soup. As for the so called«spicy»? You guys really need to eat out more often. True, it had a lil kick to it but it’s not packing heat. I mean come on now people, talking about exaggeration. The soup tasted more like sweet and spicy not spicy like how an authentic bun bo hue would taste like. Speaking of that, I know bun bo hue is supposed to have fatty meat which I understand, so this review is more of a gripe about being tricked about how great their«spicy and full of meat» their soup is. As for the rest of menu, a quick glance at it would put any FOB’s heart into cardiac arrest. I thought I walked into a phở restaurant not a McDonald’s. This place should stay in Elk Grove because it has no place trying to fit in the Little Saigon district!!!

Went there with my family of four. no one waited on us when we got there… so we just seated ourself. the waitress was nice and kinda f friendly. me and my husband both order the chicken noodle. it’s was nasty. I thought it would be the same as phở anh across the street, but nope. I was wrong. I don’t think I will be going back. I’ll stick to my regular phở king 2 and TK noodle

I decided to try the bun bo hue here because Phở King is closed on Wednesday. The restaurant is a lot cleaner compare to other Vietnamese places. The staff is very nice, and they can actually speak english. The ordered bun bo hue(vietnamese spicy noodle soup) and it was very pleasing. The soup was spicy, and they actually serve it with lots of meat(beef tendons, stream pork slices, beef shank & of course blood chucks)… Large bowl was $ 7.50. However, it different compare to other bun bo hue I had. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but it have their own twist to it. I was very happy with everything, would come back to try something else next time.

I have to say their bun bo hue is freakishly good, where ever I eat noodles of sorts phở/bun rieu/bun bo hue/etc I always sip the broth first to see how it is and the bbh had me reeled in from the get go. Like Vicky said said phở king has definitely got some competition going on now. Never had I had a bowl where I did not have to put sriracha sauce and Anh duc has accomplished that. Right kick, tons of flavor… definitely coming back! My stars r strictly for the bbh although my buddy’s rice plate look delicious as well.

Pretty decent. I was looking for a Vietnamese spot that had a lot of different options to choose from. Phở Anh Duc East West Café came to mind and sure enough there were plenty of options, including cheeseburgers and fries! Nothing like complimenting my mi quang with fries on the side. My mi quang was only ok(too much broth and overcooked noodles) but I think next time I will order the bun bo hue, which smelled really good. My lil sister’s bun thit nuong was good too and the flavor of the thit nuong was pretty on point. The service was cool and my water was always filled, but they forgot my cousin’s phở. It’s still new so I’m sure they’re working out kinks.

This place offers friendly and clean service, so dining in is comfortable and enjoyable. The bun bo hue, spicy beef noodle soup, is definitely worth a try if you’re open to authentic Vietnamese cuisine. Their version of bun bo hue is superb and Phở King 2 now has a worthy competitor. The two restaurants both offer great bun bo hue, but each have their own twist. The bun bo hue at Phở Anh Duc East West Café includes beef shank slices, pork slices, pork patty slices, beef tendon, and pork blood cubes. The broth here is more strained and satisfying if you want to drink all of the broth. You know you have a good bun bo hue when you don’t have to add hoisin or hot sauce to it. I just added the shredded cabbage and banana blossom. Oh, and sliced onions, cilantro, and lime! Sooo good!

I had to try this place after reading about their Bun Bo Hue and it’s true, the #21 Bun Bo Hue is INSANELY delicious. Perfectly flavored and a wonderful amount of heat. Theirs is loaded with meat as well, including beef tendon, which gives the broth a savory flavor that is unmistakable, I didn’t even need to add anything to it. I ordered the large for $ 7.50 and even though I was full to the gills, I was licking the bottom of my bowl by the end. And of course, the place is clean as a whistle, there is a ton of seating so the place is perfect for groups, and the staff are warm and welcoming. I will definitely be back next time I am in the area.

I’m so glad they opened a second location. I love the food at the original and this location is just as yummy. The kids are off for Thanksgiving break, so all 6 of us went here for lunch. I had the bun bo hue, there was a lot of meat. But very spicy, be prepared. Hubby had the phở tai bo vien, and the flavor was good with just the right amount of meat. The eggrolls were so good, we had to order another plate. The service is very friendly and attentive. Overall, a great new addition to Stockton Blvd restaurants. This location is close to work, so it’s going into the rotation of regular spots for us.

Phở chicken is tasty. Huge portions of veggies and noodles. Friendly staff. Knowledgable about it’s menu. Bathrooms are clean. Tables and floors are not sticky. I would come back on a cold day for another round of phở.
