Pristine Window Washing Plus

If I could give zero stars I would. I bought a groupon and they couldn’t schedule me until after the expiration date. Then they wouldn’t honor it. It went into a groupon class action which I never received a refund from. Two thumbs down for this business. I can’t believe they are still around.

0 zero stars!!! Horrible service!!! Do not use them! Did not honor Groupon when they messed up my appointment!

If you want to throw your money away and kick yourself for doing it, this is the place to go. I made countless appointments (at least 10 to 15) of which were cancelled for a multitude of lame reasons (something came up, aunt died, car died, stuck out of town, thought I scheduled you a different day, no shows… blah, blah, blah), the list goes on and on. By far the most frustrating experience ever. I can’t believe this company is still in business. They must wash one window per year. I only hung in there because I paid already through Groupon. Luckily, I was able to reconcile through Groupon as it was never going to happen with this group. I have learned my lesson — check Unilocal before you purchase!

I too am one of those people who purchased from Groupon. I still, to this day, have not had my windows done. Postponement after postponement, emergency after emergency. I have all the text messages from Matt canceling and postponing. He would never call me and talk to me. Finally Matt told me to get my money back from Groupon. I contacted Groupon and they said I needed to become part of the lawsuit against them. I am not sure that I will even purchase anything from Groupon again. Maybe a lawsuit (even a class action one) against this vendor (Pristine Window Washing Plus) is worth considering.

It’s interesting that the other two reviewers mentioned that their appointment was rescheduled — mine was too. Although I understand that things in life happen, it seems odd that we were all rescheduled for emergencies. I was really tempted to give them 3 stars instead of four because of it.
When the rescheduled appointment date arrived, the cleaner showed up on time and did a very nice job. My windows and screens were dirty. I mean really dirty. The cleaner worked a solid three hours and, although there is a smudge or two, overall, I’m really impressed.

Like another reviewer, I would give zero stars if possible.
If you are interested in getting your windows washed just after Thanksgiving — then by all means, give this company a call!
I first phoned them on July 1, only to have Matt, the owner say «Email my wife. She does the scheduling.» I emailed through the address listed on their company website only to receive a reply that they will not be answering emails for another week and a half. Oh yes, and did I mentioned they do not EVER want to speak to you? All scheduling is done through email. So if the date they send you does not work out, you have to email back and forth until a mutual date is reached. This is pretty silly customer service. When they finally got back to me (via email), their first available date for window cleaning was almost December. Hmmm. Isn’t it raining by then? Another funny thing is that they charge a minimum of $ 25 in fuel if your home is 20 miles outside of downtown Sacramento. I live just under the 20 mile mark and when I was told I’d have to pay this surcharge, I asked what address they were using, they did not respond. I got a refund from Groupon. What a waste of my time.

We had Matt from Pristine Window Washing Plus do our windows yesterday and were very happy with the outcome. We had read the other Unilocal reviews and were nervous about the job that would be done but had already purchased the Groupon. My husband is very picky about his windows and he was satisfied with the job Matt did and found Matt to be a professional, fast worker. Yes, Matt does the windows by himself. One man operation. We thought it would take him most of the day to do all our windows (inside and out) but he was in and out in 2−½ hours. He told my husband he did windows in Fresno and had built up a good business but then moved to Sacramento for his wife’s new job. There is no doubt he will soon have a great window washing business here as he is great at what he does, movtivated and hard working. I had contacted Matt during the year to change my window washing date several times and he always got back to me promptly and was most courteous. That is a huge plus for me when service people return calls and are cooperative to boot. It was so nice to wake up today and see sparkling clean windows on a sunny day. Thanks Matt! Oh, and a shout out to Cari, his wife, who is equally responsive (via email) when I contacted their business via email. It is so easy to do business with people who want to make you happy and have a great product (Matt).

I’m sad that this didn’t work out since I know that when you offer a Groupon for your services, the key is to leave a good impression so as to gain return customers who will pay full price the next time. I am all for supporting local small businesses and I really wanted to like this service… but there were too many cons for me not to write a bad review.
First, not sure if this is industry standard, but all of my 14 or so ground-​level windows were left unlocked – and I didn’t notice until the next day! I don’t live in the best neighborhood and knowing my windows were unlocked all night really freaked me out – and to not even give me the courtesy of letting me know he was leaving them that way was really disappointing.
Second, on the interior floors under every window – and in some places even on walls, doors and upholstered furniture (yup – it stained by white velvet stool, not to mention the pain getting it out of the carpet), there were little splashes of black – drippings from the squeegie I’m guessing. I spent a good part of the following day cleaning up after my window cleaning service and I am still discovering drippings around the house.
Icing on the cake was that one window was left completely untouched altogether.

My house’s windows reeeally needed attention, and they look wayyyy better now that Pristine has given them a good scrubbing. Gleamy!
The downside for me was that scheduling the work proved so difficult. The first cancellation was a family emergency– I totally understood. When I didn’t hear from them a week or so later, I left a phone message and eventually was rescheduled– but when I called to check on their arrival time that afternoon I learned that another job had filled my time slot. After a week or so I got a phone call rescheduling me for for Thursday– but that Wednesday there was a phone message asking what time I wanted on FRIDAY. We agreed on Friday, noon-​1pm, and they arrived between 1:30 and 2:00.
In fairness, I understand that they’d gotten more than a little overbooked due to a Groupon deal. Their website does indicate that they have engendered considerable enthusiasm among pre-​Groupon clients.
