I love this place. I have been going from Rio Linda to Downtown Sacramento frequently for work the past 3 years and pass this place every time. Last year I finally decided to stop here on my way home because I couldn’t stand smelling the delicious BBQ smell and not tasting it. My 1st visit I got the 3 meat plate($ 18) with Ribs, Tri Tip, and chicken with potato salad and baked beans as the sides. It was sooo good. I can’t afford to eat here all the time but I try to treat myself once a month. If you think it’s expensive you’re crazy. Of the 4BBQ places I’ve been to in the Sacramento area Q&R is the best tasting and best priced. I live right around the corner from House of Chicken and Ribs and their 3 meat plate is $ 35.99BEFORE tax. It’s closer but honestly Id rather drive the extra 20 mins to come to Q&R. I tried dickey’s BBQ and i think their 3 meat plate is maybe $ 1 cheaper but they give you about 2 bites of meat. I got about a tablespoon of chopped brisket, 2 small slices of brisket and a tablespoons of pulled pork. If you want quality, quantity and affordability go here and make sure u get some tri tip.

As soon as we walked in(the entrance is on the side of the building btw), there was people sitting at the table. Two of them were the owners, I believe. The place had a cozy feel to it, and the conversations that they had with each other made me feel comfortable. The place felt like home. The owner hooked us up with ribs and tri tip. Good price for a great portion. And the food was delicious. Will be frequenting this place in the future. Thank you, Q and R Bbq!

Had them take care of us with whole chicken, rack of ribs, and tri tip. Sides of macaroni, potato salad and beans … All really good. Cash only, not the greatest location but exactly what you expect, great bbq from a hole in the wall… Literally. Will go back again.

Friendly family that runs this place. Very home-y, you feel like you’re over at a friends house for bbq. The hot links hit the spot. Perfect for me because I like them mild but for a spice fiend they might might to skip them. Again, I found them delicious though. The ribs fell off the bone, they only have pork ribs as far as I know and they were scrumptious. The sauce was sweet, savory and had a very subtle heat on the aftertaste. Perfect. This place satisfied my craving and I will be back! Just remember to stop at an atm. CASHONLY.

Can i give 0 stars? Reser’s potato salad, pork and beans, bars hot link, stale sandwich bread, mushy fish, shall i go on? And Im not even going to start on the atmosphere. Just horrible! Honestly I couldn’t even eat it. Waste of $ for sure! Will not be back and do not recommend! Not so sure if i should trust Unilocal reviews again, pretty sure they scored themselves to get 4.5 stars.

Very amazing meats and sides. Very friendly attitude. It has a refridgerator where you grab your soda can out of as far as drinks, and the food comes in togo containers but its VERY good food and sauces. Very excellent bbq that you see being grilled outside, I highly recommend it.

Food is okay but, damn, way over priced. I’d rather spend that kind of money on a sit down restaurant.

I was referred to Q&R BBQ and the ribs are truly fantastic. The have very good side dishes beans and potato salad to complement the ribs. For great Sacramento food go to Q&R. You have got to try it your self it is impressive.

Pretty good BBQ. The tri-tip meat is very soft and melts in your mouth, and is a little on the fatty side. The tri tip comes with a lot of sauce. I prefer a more rigid tri tip meat, but this was still good and worth trying. My friend that went with me said he prefers the way Q&R does their tri tip.

I work right up the street from this little joint. Decided to come in on my day off after reading all the great reviews. It was a hot day so when I came inside the lights were off. Looked more like someone’s kitchen and dining room than a restaurant. There was a couple who I assume own the place and they were very friendly. I ordered a two meat plate with tri tip and ribs. Sides were potato salad and baked beans. The ribs were so so good! Fall off the bone and the bbq sauce was delicious! Tri tip was also very good. Potato salad and beans didn’t taste home made but they were good nonetheless. Cash only, so make sure you don’t bring just a debit card. Overall I was very impressed. Dining experience was a tad awkward. It was just the two owners and my boyfriend and I in there. TV was on silent and no music or anything. Kinda felt they were staring at us wanting to know what we thought of the food. Then about half way through our meal some of their family members came in and were very loud and disruptive. Don’t get me wrong, food was great, maybe just get it to go.

Chris webber said that this is the best fish in town, I say these are the best ribs EVER! It’s so hard to find good ribs and this is the spot! Must try and see for yourself how good this hole in the wall bbq is!

Mom and Pop BBQ joint CASHONLY. Not located in the best of areas Q&R serves up some tasty BBQ. In particular the Hot Link Sammie was freaking delicious! The Tri Tip sammie was also large and tasty. They put on a good portion of smoky sweet spicy BBQ sauce to their sammies so if you don’t like sauce you had better tell them. The place is a total dive with only two tables for 8 people in the tiny joint, so be prepared to get your eats togo. My only complaint would be that sammies come with a side of potato salad and even though I ordered two sammies I only received one side. Other than that, I will be back for that delicious Hot Link Sammie!

OK never mind that its a rough looking neighborhood. Never mind that it sits out in the end of an old strip mall and it looks like a condemned building. The inside is not fancy, there aren’t nice chairs and tables but the BBQ is the BEST I’ve had in the Sac area so far! I rolled in around 7:00 pm and was the only one there. I ordered to go and my food was ready pretty quick. I got ribs, tri-tip, beans and potato salad. I asked about fish but it seemed like he was closing down and said the ribs and tr-tip were better today. He also offered a FULL rack of ribs for $ 20 but it was just me eating I spent $ 14, a deal for sure! The tri-tip was unbelievably tender, you can tell it was low and slow for a while. I could have ate a pound of it. I got some end that was crispy and had more smoke on it; awesome. The ribs were peel off the bone tender. Just the perfect amount of fat left in. Neatly laid in the bottom of the Styrofoam to-go container and bathed in sauce ready to consume. The sides were good as well. Not sure if they make the beans or the p-salad but both were good. And just like the old-skool joints is comes with sliced wheat bread. I was stuffed after I wolfed it all down. A total deal for the price, quantity and quality. I’ll give them 5 stars when they remodel the place but don’t let that scare you away. Go there for the food, get it to go and enjoy!

Sex in my mouth. That’s how the ribs taste like. I came home cradling the foil container as if I would a lover and sucked each and every single piece of meat off the bones for two days.(Brought a whole slab of ribs) The only reason why this place didn’t get 5 stars is because of all the dust bunnies waiting with me while my order was being filled. Otherwise the inside is a shrine to sports and the local high school. PACERPRIDE!
