At R. Douglas, we have introduced a new experience to custom-​tailored apparel for men and women. Our success stems from a vision to offer luxury hand-​made garments at a very comfortable price point. In fact, many clients have observed that R. Douglas garments are priced competitively with local department stores.

Our stylists serve as image specialists, assisting in the fabric and trim selection, while incorporating beneficial design elements into each garment, unique to our clients’ style preferences.

The R. Douglas manufacturing facility combines the use of state of the art technology and traditional workmanship techniques to deliver finished garments with superior quality and value. The refined and highly effective manufacturing process allows garments to be delivered in a timely manner.

Our downtown showroom location currently services Northern California and outfits a distinguished clientele including local and state government officials, attorneys, finance professionals, and entrepreneurs.

I am no «baller» or your upper class type of fellow that has $ to blow. i do however appreciate quality and understand that you DO get what you pay for sometimes.
Do NOT get intimidated by this place my friends. The fact that you are researching about this place shows you have GOOD taste in your fashion sense. That buying a suit from an expesnive place does not necessarily mean you will look good. But buying a suit that is WELL TAILORED will make you look good. That you LOVE details like me (tie clip, lapel pin, etc) .You appreciate the detail and the wisdom of a tailored suit. I know that i can buy a suit from Macy’s (which is still a great place to look for suits) but get it altered to form/​fit my body, and it will look PERFECT.
Sorry for the rant. But this place deserves its recognition. Rather than getting a plain tux for my wedding, i decided to go for a nice black textured suit. If youre looking for big name brand suits. they will cost you around 1k. However going here you get MORE for that amount because it is ALL custom.
You ever custom make a car on a dealerships website? picture THAT but for your SUIT. Its about a 1−2month turnaround time. From when you choose the fabric you want and all the bells and whistles, to the pre fitting, and final fitting.
You can do what ever you want to your suit:

what type of vents
inner lining
how many pockets u want.2 pockets? 3 pockets? NO pockets?!
Color of the stitching!
the posibilities are mind blowing.
Service: They are ALL knowledgeable and above all give you a pleasant experience. Courteous gentlemen and women there.
*what was the icing on the cake. is that when i finally got my suit, on the INNER waist line there were rubber pads stitched. i said to myself «what…» then it clilcked. They are for when you tuck in your shirt and nothing gets all out of center and sloppy. How incredible is that?! I LOVE details like that :) Happy suit hunting!

This is the one to trust. I’ve been a client of various custom clothiers over the years, ranging from local to national companies and Ryan and his team are the absolute best. I started out with some shirts from Ryan to test the waters and once I saw those, I knew I had to order more, which I did. Due to the success of the experience I had with them and the custom shirts, I just bought a custom suit and some pants. Rest assured that you are in great hands with folks who truly care about the product, your satisfaction and a long-​term relationship. I’m impressed — again and again with them.

The quality of work was exceptional, I was very impressed with my suit. I have received a ton of compliments, especially at my friend’s wedding recently. I definitely recommend R. Douglas if you are looking for a custom suit with impeccable tailoring. However, I was disappointed in the customer service I received. I had called a few days earlier to set up an appointment, but the moment I walked in the door I felt unwelcome. My stylist rushed me through the process and acted very irritated with any questions I had. He gave me the impression that I didn’t know what I was talking about, and that there were better things he could be doing with his time. I was looking forward to purchasing a custom suit but wished I had been treated with a little more respect. Aside from that, I was really happy with my suit.

R. Douglas recently made me a three-​piece suit. I’m a slim guy who doesn’t find many pieces with even an acceptable fit off the rack, so I essentially didn’t know before what a well tailored suit would feel like. The suit they made me fits like no other clothing I’ve worn, and I love it.
During the process, each member of the staff helped me at one point or another. Drew was very welcoming and gave good advice during the initial design consultation, even on New Year’s Eve when he had a cold. He and Ryan nailed my measurements. Luke helped me with the first fitting and gave good advice for a minor alteration. Natasha was very pleasant, usually answering the phone and setting up my appointments. It’s obvious that Ryan (the «R.» of R. Douglas) is highly knowledgeable, takes pride in his business, and likes making clients look their best.
My wife really likes the suit, and that’s the most important thing to me. But when I leave R. Douglas in my suit after the final fitting, walk several blocks to where I parked my car, and on the way have multiple complete strangers in downtown Sacramento stop me to compliment the cut and fit of my suit, it feels a little bizarre. But it’s the sort of bizarre that tells me the R. Douglas team know what they’re doing.

They do really good work but make sure you are getting your suit when you pick it up. The day before I left town for a wedding I came in, gave my name and was given a suit. I thought it odd at the time that they didn’t take it out of the garment bag to show me the work they had done. «Whatever,» I thought since I was in such a rush at the end of the day. As I drove off to leave town I pulled in to a gas station to fuel up and decided I’d take a look at the suit. Shear panic set in when I unzipped to find a suit that was not mine at all. Not even the same color or remotely the same size.
R Douglas was closing in just two minutes so I called them in a panic while I raced across downtown during rush hour to try to get my suit (all the while thinking the owner of the blue suit I had may be doing the same?). No answers, then after my third call it went straight to voicemail. I left a panicked voicemail and soon got a call back from one of the guys in the store who said «he can stay open for me». That irked me even more (I probably said something to the effect of «you better!»). I did finally make it back and switch the suits but all that stress the day before an important wedding left a very bad taste in my mouth. The owner soon called me and apologized, he even offered a free shirt. It was a nice recovery attempt but I don’t ever wear tailored clothes or dress up like that often. R Douglas did a good job on my suit but I chose them solely because I thought they were professional enough not to mess anything up for something so important. In the end, I ended up both paying more and stressing.

I chose Ryan Hammond and his team at R Douglas for the custom tux I wore for my wedding and I LOVE IT! Ryan took the time to show me my options (and believe me… with R Douglas, you can customize anything!). He gave me great advice and helped me narrow in on a look and feel that was perfect. The material was top notch. The alterations were amazing. The fit Ryan provided gave me the look, movement and feel I wanted. Heck. I felt like a movie star. I am still overwhelmed by the amazing experience I had at R. Douglas. For my husbands birthday I knew I wanted to get him something really special and wanted to surprise him. I called several places about having a suit made and R. Douglas was very patient in answering all of my questions and booking an appointment months in advance.
I had a budget in mind and they worked really well withing my price range. They never tried to up sell me nor pressured me to spend more. They opened early on a Saturday to accommodate us and took a lot of time going over the options. Lucas was meticulous in taking measurements and ensuring the perfect fit. He asked a lot of questions about likes and dislikes and made suggestions when needed. His attention to detail is exactly what I was looking for.
My husband had a great time and that is all that I care about. I thought I would be bored but the fabric and style selection was actually a lot of fun. After the experience and quality of a custom made suit I don’t think we can go back to ill fitting department store finds again.

I can’t say enough about R. Douglas. Ryan is a true professional who knows his stuff. I have been buying custom suits for more than 10 years and I can say without a doubt that the product Ryan and team put out is second to none. I am born and raised in Sacramento and worked on the east coast for a few years. After moving back home, I didn’t have 5th Aveune to go to for a suit. (Not that I went often — but it was a nice way to celebrate a success) When I moved back home, my friend told me about Ryan /​his business. From start to finished I was really impressed with Ryan — he is an all around great guy. The thing that impesses me the most, is his suits are FAR less expensive and better fitting than my other suits. It just an awsome deal — that and I also got a custom shirt which I love. I first met Ryan at a wedding, his wedding. I was a vendor. I learned that he had made all the suits for him and his groomsmen and was quite impressed with the quality and fit.
About 2 years later I too went through the R. Douglas experience. Due to my work hours Ryan invited me to his home for my measurements. He was fast and efficienet all while welcoming and warm. A few weeks later, my BEAUTIFUL suit came in and once again I went to Ryan’s home for the fitting. It was a tiny bit off in one area so Ryan insisted he fix it before I take the suit home. Amazing customer service.
So do yourself a favor (or your husband/​boyfriend/​father/​brother) and get an R. Douglas custom suit.

From the very first contact with Ryan, I knew I was dealing with a true professional. When I initially called him and inquired about the different options of purchasing custom tailored suits, he was very informative and helpful, but at the same time he never «followed up» like some other «aggressive» sales people do, which I find annoying.
Although I never asked him directly, I am pretty sure that like me he believes in a more passives way of marketing — through attention to customer, punctuality and quality of work.
Ryan is everything you want a custom clothier to be. He will come to your office, take your measurement carefully, listen to what you want and need and at the same time will provide his qualified opinion as to what will work best for you and your body.
Also, the pricing of his products is very, very reasonable given the rates for custom tailored suits that you would anywhere else around.
I highly recommend Ryan to anyone who wants a nice, unique suit that doesn’t just fit, but fits *you*.

Love R Douglas suits! My husband has been in several weddings where the suits were made by R Douglas, and they fit my hubby to perfection. I also like the custom shirts, and it’s great because my husband is able to wear the clothes also in a professional environment at work and not look over-​the-​top like he’s in wedding attire (i.e. Men’s Wearhouse rentals). The suits are classy, and I love all the options you can choose from. This is your go-​to man for weddings or any special event for sure!

Not be confused with made-​to-​measure, R Douglas creates truly bespoke pieces from scratch using your exact measurements. I am always impressed with Ryan’s fabric selections and the quality of the work. In most cases, my custom tailored dress shirts have been ready after just a few weeks.
Since discovering R Douglas, I stopped shopping Nordstrom for my dress attire and I wear R Douglas exclusively. Ryan is very knowledgeable and helpful, and is never pushy or overbearing. I can think of no better endorsement than wearing a certain brand five days a week!
