Sacramento Oral Surgery

Shame on this office and Dr. Currimbhoy for the care my 90 year old aunt received here last week. She had a 1:30 appointment and was not seen until 3pm. She was left waiting in an exam chair and was quite chilled and exhausted. Lately she has not been well and made a special effort to have someone drive her here from Citrus Heights to have a tooth extracted. This protracted wait left her driver waiting all afternoon and put her into rush hour traffic to get home. Waiting 1.5 hours is unprofessional and not respectful of the limitations of someone her age. I would not recommend this office as there is certainly a management issue here and the dentist is also responsible. Apologies are not helpful. Get your act together.

Great Doctor, Staff and office — The professional and friendly doctor and staff removed stress, helped overcome my own fears, quickly got the tooth out without any issue. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.

First, the good. The people were nice and did a good job. I had 4 wisdom teeth removed and had no complaints about the procedure.
Now, the bad and the ugly. I called to get an estimate and they refused to give me one before going in. I was referred to this place by my dentist so I assumed it was too complicated. Nope, turns out the monetary part of this place makes you feel like youve been in a drug deal gone bad. 4 erupted wisdom teeth removed was $ 2,500. If you have paid anywhere close to that id like to know LOL. They «could tell by the X-​ray» that they needed to cut bone out, so they charged for two impacted teeth even though Ive never had a dentist say they werent erupted. most say how rare it is that all of them are. I was awake through the first tooth and i can almost guarantee there was no «bone cutting». Total BS. Of course now I know why they dont give estimates. Of course youre more likely to go through with it after not having eaten the night before and taking a day off work and not calling anyone else. This office is owned by some corporate office on the east cost. Go somewhere else.

I had Dr. Currimbhoy for my wisdom teeth extraction. Long story short, awesome doctor. She was super informative, extremely nice, and made the whole process as simple as can be. Her staff, Kim and Stacy, were excellent and just down to earth people that made the experience that much better. I felt at ease and very relaxed. The whole surgery, slight recovery time and everything was a little over an hour, but because of the drugs I felt like I was in there for 20 minutes. I would highly recommend them for oral surgery, especially wisdom teeth. I felt very comfortable during the surgery and they were keeping me updated on what was going on (even though I couldn’t really respond). Later on that evening, Dr. Currimbhoy called me to check on me and make sure I was doing good. Love them!

I wish i could give this place zero stars. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! My wife had her upper wisdoms pulled November 2011 and we opted for the anesthesia (under sleep) and my wife still felt them pull one of the teeth. They didn’t give enough anesthetic during the operation. Worse of all we were told (after the employee contacted our insurance) that our cost would be ~$ 250 but a few months later we received a bill stating we owed them an additional ~$ 450 that the insurance didn’t cover. After calling them all they kept on saying was that I’m responsible to cover the cost for anything the insurance didn’t cover. They refused to accept the fact that their employee that is responsible for verifying insurance coverage didn’t do it correctly costing us nearly three times the original quoted cost.

Like most, I hate the dentist, Id rather have my toenails pulled out, really. But, it has to be done…(even though I just want dentures already, come on, lets do this…) so, after my regular check up, I was told I needed to remove 3 teeth– wisdom…(Nooo!) So, we were reffered to a place thankfully close to home, in the heart of midtown on K street.
The office is held in an older Victorian home, and very well kept, I may add. Great parking! We walked in on a cold November day, and were greeted with warm hellos, tasteful holiday décor and a cozy gas fireplace. I was already at ease. My husband had come here a few years ago, and went through the same procedure, so I kinda had an idea of how nice this place would be. The staff is extremely sweet, and very professional. We spent a good 15 minutes or so in a consultation room before my very first surgery… ever. The doctor thoroughly explained everything, and fully gained my trust almost at once.
I was given anesthesia for the first time too.(where can I buy this stuff?) It made everything THAT much better… I fell asleep in just a few minutes, and woke up like nothing happened. I was given a some vicodin (score!) and on my way out already! He called me that night, (I KNOW!!!) to see how I was feeling– How cool is that? Like the last review, I cant believe I took so long to schedule this either! Bravo, Sac Oral! lol

I had a horrible experience having my wisdom teeth pulled, so when I found out I had to have a tooth pulled I was apprehensive. I visited 4 doctors before I decided to go with Dr. Royse. He didn’t seem too busy or too important to speak with me and answer all my questions. He made me feel calm, and confident in his abilities.
The staff was great; very friendly. They talked me through everything they were doing before I was under anesthesia. After care went generally well, even though I did have to go back for some medicated gauze. I would highly recommend a consultation with Dr. Royse, especially if you don’t like doctors or dentists.

After putting it off for 10 years, I finally decided to get my wisdom teeth pulled. My dentist, after doing a jig of glee, referred me to Sacramento Oral Surgery. My doctor was Dr. Brian Royse. He was awesome, as was the entire staff. He sat down with me and spent a good 20 minutes talking about the surgery and explaining things. He answered all my questions thoroughly. He used general anesthetic, so I didn’t feel a thing. Even over the next couple days, I had very little pain, thanks in part to the fact that he wasn’t stingy with the Vicodin prescription. My swelling was minimal, you could only tell if you knew me and looked really closely. I got it done the Friday before Easter and felt well enough to go to my family’s Easter celebration. The office was really nice and comfortable, a nicely restored Victorian downtown.
A couple months later I had a bone fragment coming through my gumline (very common, I looked it up on the internet). I called them, they got me right in the next day and took care of it. They really are a great practice.
The only bad thing about it was I felt like an idiot for putting it off for so long when it was so easy.
