Just going to make this simple. Me and my wife took a chance tried out this store the lady and the guy was very friendly and know there stuff about there reptiles. Had a good experience. Especially if you make my wife happy that’s a bonus.

I highly recommend SacRetile for all your reptile/​spider related needs. Their customer service is remarkable to say the least, the owner and her daughter are extremely nice and very helpful. I have been trying to get my supplies their exclusively due the the shops very friendly atmosphere and really great prices. They have the cheapest and fattest feeders around and I expecially appreciate that they euthanize my feeders for free on the spot so i dont have to knock the feeder out myself..

Customer service here, just plain stinks. Came here a lot when I first got my fat tail, and now stopped going here all together due to bad vibes. The lady here has been so rude to me multiple times. Given me bad advice on heating options for my corn. But I must give it to them that they do try to care about how you’re taking care of your reptiles, even though it’s the wrong approach.
Even though Sac reptiles is literally 5 mins away from my work where I can easily get feeders, I rather spend 15 extra mins in traffic to get my feeders elsewhere.
Until change of customer service. I will not be coming back, unless I’m ultra desperate. But I don’t know when I will be that desperate.

Been here several times. Super friendly herp people who have a sincere love and concern for your pet. Not to mention best rodent prices anywhere! Highly recommend this store.

It’s small but it’s packed with cool stuff !! We had an extra tank and ended up adopting one of their leopard geckos, the guy who was working was super helpful and told us everything we needed to know! And our new pet ended up being super friendly and easy going!

A really good, small store. Store owner can be a bit moody at times, but overall she’s just concerned that you truly care about your animals. She usually has Poison Dart Frogs available, but her selection is limited.
Her store’s currently undergoing a remodel, so expect new things!

SacReptile is closed!!! Don’t bother to go to SacReptile, drove from Jackson taking an hour to get there, arrived at SacReptile at 3:15 on Friday 7/​10, the middle of their day, store is CLOSED, Open sign is dark, store is dark, no note on door to indicate they are out of business or just out to lunch??? Never go there.

Our dwarf monitor has been sick with MBD and had no appetite for his regular feeder roaches/​mealworms. I found some ZooMed monitor food on Amazon — it was the only food this little guy would eat. Since he is little he never finishes the $ 5 can before it goes bad. I called SacReptile because they were listed on ZooMed’s website as a vendor, and they happened to have 2 cans of the stuff that they said they’d just give me for free!
We went to pick up the food and I wanted to buy something from them because it was so nice of them just to give me that food. They are remodeling though and didn’t have a ton of stock of UVB lamps and general reptile supplies, which is what I would have bought. The young lady at the front counter started telling us about «Reptilinks» which are basically little frozen ground up whole prey sausages for reptiles that are carnivores (and ominivores and possibly herbivores– they have some with fruit and veggies). SacReptile says that these would be good nutritious food for our monitor with a good calcium to phosphorous ratio, so we bought some. He definitely seemed to like them.
Little monitor has gained weight and has stronger bones after just a couple weeks — he’s back to his regular live feeder insect diet and isn’t interested in the «comfort food» anymore. But I credit the food with we got from SacReptile for sustaining him while he was sick. So now we will see what our Dumerils Boa thinks about the leftover Reptilinks (which are kept frozen).
I am not sure about the negative reviews for customer service here — our experience was that they were friendly, helpful, and genuine animal lovers.

Great service by the owner who really cares about the welfare of the animals. Prices for tanks are the best in town!

This place deserves a higher rating, but the 1 – 2 star reviews have come from people who get their feelings hurt too easily.
The people that work here might not have the biggest, outgoing, in your face personalities, but this isn’t Disneyland and they more than make up for it in other ways if you take the time to get to know them. They remember me, my family, and what I usually buy. I have gone in a couple of times with questions, and end up with solutions told/​given to me for FREE.
1. Soil stinks? — «let it dry out a little, add this free soil, and put in these free insects that will eat up the stinky organic stuff in your soil.»
2. How do I keep the crickets alive longer? — «we had a batch of crickets that came in that weren’t as good as usual, take these for FREE.» I still paid because it was only about $ 2, they have a business to run, and they usually last as long as I need them to.
3. What size crickets do I usually get? — «You get medium, I’ll go get your usual 50.»
I have gone in there with my son, and they let him hold a snake and a bearded dragon for about 10 – 15 minutes. When I was in there yesterday, the first thing the lady owner (JT) said to me was «how is your boy?»
Let’s get something clear about this place, they are seriously knowledgeable about what they do and they take the time to educate people who would otherwise buy a pet and end up letting it go in the wild only to die. They truly respect the animals they sell and care for, and they want you to do the same. I personally see nothing wrong with this, and highly recommend this place for your reptile needs.

These people are great! They sure know their stuff and are always extremely helpful. We got a custom built enclosure made here and we couldn’t be happier. We don’t go anywhere else.

Ok so I normally don’t do this but after reading these reviews I need to post my own. First off to the people saying there crickets are not fresh n die to easy … you guys are aware that all the local stores buy f feeders from the same places correct? Feeder prices are some of the lowest in town. These people care about their animals and it shows .You cant find the knowledge they have at the other shops .I needed special lighting and some helpful tips on building my own cage. Nathan has been there to get me the stuff I didn’t have and the knowledge to help me complete this cage. I go to there shop 1 to 3 times a week. We have 13 boas 4 Crested geckos and two ornate uros. what they don’t have they will order. honest people trying to make a honest living. I can respect that.

After coming here a few times I have become reluctant to shop here. The several times that I have gotten my feeder bugs here, they all die within 5 days… Not good, especially since when I used to get crickets they were not even the adult ones! I have been taking care of crickets for a while so I know it wasn’t anything I did. I had to throw out $ 10 worth of crickets in 5 days because they ALL died.
When I get feeders from other places they last 10 times longer!
And minus one star just because I never feel welcome here… Every time I try to ask questions or talk about herps I feel like I am wasting their time. However, this place is super convenient for me, so when I can not make it out to other areas, I will stop in here to hold me over. Way better than Petsmart or Petco!
UPDATE ON THE FEEDERS– I bought $ 5 worth of super worms from here like two months ago and I swear it is a never ending pot of wormy goodness! I think they have improved on their feeder quality because these superworms are still wiggling after two months and I still have tons! This place is an awesome option for superworms from this experience! Thank you! + 1 star for the awesome feeders I got last time… Hopefully next time I can add another star back =]

The woman believes that she knows everything about leopard geckos and thought she had the most beautiful geckos known to man.
When I got down there I was more than just disappointed. She confuses male geckos and female geckos even when I corrected her she told me I was wrong, and not to trust the method that I use which is everyone’s method.
Another thing she did was convince me to go down there because she had some amazing gecko and so I do, and she’s bragging about two geckos that she owns but yet doesn’t have anything to show of them except for this one offspring, which really wasn’t that pretty and if she thought this baby would amount to anything this offspring wouldn’t have missing toes.
I was looking for something very specific I now realize I am not going to find it at sacreptile.
She also dissed the one breeder I enjoy the most, and he has the most beautiful geckos in California.
I think she is crazy and the man that works there is belligerent.

I’m only giving them 2 stars, because of the customer service. The pricing and quality is worth 5 stars, but their customer service is terrible. The girl seems a little nicer, but it’s awkward when it is very silent. The guy is very rude. Questions why you are buying the food and who it is for. If it doesn’t meet his standards, he well lecture you and tell you why it is bad for your animal. If you ask me, he is losing business by not letting customers buy whatever they want. Anyways, we had a huge order, BUT he questioned us and did not let us buy what we wanted, so we walked out with just 10 roaches.
I had to run over to petsmart to buy more food for my animal since he didn’t let me buy what I wanted. I’ll keep going just because it has better pricing than any other stores around, but I’ll try to make it very quick so it wouldn’t be as awkward.

Small store and not a whole lot to choose from. They don’t normally carry snakes. Feeders are cheap, but Serpentarium is cheaper. Prices on items aren’t too bad. Staff seem uninterested, unhappy, and can be a bit unprofessional.

These guys are great. They have great prices on items, feeders and such. They made me an awesome deal on a multi unit display tank today. Also, they look like they take care of their animals well, including their fat healthy feeders.

Small place, and they don’t even have a permanent sign so it was a little hard to find the first time. The place is clean though, and the animals looked happy. We go there for crickets and stuff to feed our bearded dragon. Great price on crickets! 5 cents each for the large ones. PetSmart is 12 cents and they’re crickets are half the size.
