This is a long overdue review for my FAVORITE hairstylist ever, Kristin. I initially came into Sassi looking to cut my hair shorter and get a recommendation for coloring my hair purple. I liked Kristin so much that I immediately knew she was someone I would trust dying my hair and cutting it shorter, both things I was nervous about.
She is easy to talk to, knowledgeable about hair, and is also great with the scissors. I liked my shorter hair so much than when I came back for my hair color I had her cut it even shorter!
My purple ombré looked great and lasted nearly exactly the amount of time she thought it would. I got many compliments on it. Unfortunately I moved, so I don’t think I will be able to continue going to Kristin, but I would highly recommend both her and Sassi salon to anyone looking for a great hair experience! And the price is right too!

I recently moved to Sacramento and I’ve been looking for a salon with great reviews in my area. I found Sassi Salon & Spa and I am in love! Karie did a fantastic job cutting my hair. I wanted a new look and to finally donate my hair that I had been growing out for years (ended up cutting off 14″). She also recommended a great shampoo & conditioner for my hair type. I will definitely be going back to see her soon.

So we recently moved to Sacramento and the hunt for a new hair stylist began! Because of the positive reviews and the close proximity to my home I made an appointment at Sassi. I am retired and always a bit concerned as to whether a salon is accustomed to working with clients my age! From the moment I walked in, my apprehension disappeared. I was warmly greeted and then Barry, my stylist, came over and immediately made me feel at home, as if I had known him for years! He listened very carefully and did frequent check-​ins with me as he worked to confirm he was creating the look I wanted. He is excellent at what he does but is also a simply wonderful man, filled with energy and positivity. He also has a marvelous sense of humor and I found myself thoroughly enjoying every moment of my appointment. I recommend the salon and would encourage anyone to request Barry as their stylist!

This is for Jolee. I got an appointment last minute with Jolee. She’s a great lady and very nice. I came into the salon with something in mind but first inquired to her about what she would do with my hair. She gave some good suggestions but I was kinda set on something very different. I showed her a picture and she was supportive but just cautioned that since I have never done anything similar to this before that as long as I’m confident about it, it would all work out. I’m glad she was honest. I wanted to hear her thoughts. I felt very much confident about my choice and so we went with it. The experience was pleasant and she did an excellent job. The photo speaks for itself. I love the color and the cut. I would definitely go back. Thanks again Jolee!

I went here earlier this week for a cut and color with Jolee. I thought it was just alright. The facility was great however I didn’t care for my cut. At the beginning of the appointment I told her that I wanted a specific cut and even attempted to show her pictures. She did not spend any time looking at the pictures and she just trimmed my hair exactly as it was and did not solve any of the problems that were happening with my hair (uneven sections). I have the exact same problems just a touch shorter. Overall I think the salon was nice and so was Jolee but it wasn’t worth the money to me.

I needed a haircut BAD! And on short notice. Well it turns out the hair gods were on my side because Barry had an opening and I couldn’t have had a better experience. My hair turned out AWESOME. I showed him a quick picture, we talked about it a bit and he got right to work. He has such a warm and friendly personality that we talked the whole time like old friends and poof, long hair gone, short fab hair born! He is exactly the type of hair stylist everyone always wants to find. He’s a gem and I’m so glad our paths crossed that day.

I had a great experience here today! Emily was fantastic. I came in with a mange of brown hair, so out of shape I didn’t even want to deal with it. She transformed it into an awesome mid length Bob using the balayaging technique for highlights. I am in love with it and very pleased! She took ample time to talk to me about what I wanted, consult my picture references and then turn it into a reality.

I was so scared to go in here because it’s a new town and my hair was sooooo out of shape, but mostly because I have had so many bad experiences in the past that I dread haircuts. BUT they were amazing to say the least. It was probably one of the best haircuts I got in my life. She understood what I wanted and probably more importantly– what made sense for my my hair texture. She discussed options with me and helped me decide what to do together. My hair looked so fab that I was happy and grinning like a monkey for days. Best part, because I am useless at styling or blow drying my hair my self, every time I was and air dry it, my hair style comes out a new kind of fab. I love it

This place is pretty awesome, everyone is friendly and welcoming.
Jessica the owner is a sweetheart, she will try her best to accommodate as much as she can.
I called last min asking for Jes to do my hair, of course she was all booked. She recommended Emily to do my hair. My experience with her was amazing! I loved my hair as soon as she was done, I booked my next apt with her right away.
May I just add how great she is with little girls hair cuts!

A few weeks ago I went in to see Jolee and had decided to once again chop off my hair. At this point, I pretty much trust her to do anything she wants with it, because I know it’ll all be ok in the end. And surprise, surprise, I’m happy with my shattered bob.
She’s also not about just telling the customer anything to make them happy, either. Last year I said, give me jet black hair, and she said No that’s going to look awful. And she’s right. No. What was I thinking?
I like my hair stylists honest, thank you very much. I don’t want to look like a big idiot unless it’s on purpose, on my terms.

I HIGHLY recommend Emily at Sassi Salon! I first came to her with spotty hair and looked like a cheetah. it was pretty bad! But, she totally corrected my color and I love to be blonde! Her skills and technique are perfection every time! I’m pretty particular on my hair and color. She definitely listens to what I want and always exceeds my expectations. If you are looking for a new hair stylist Emily is someone you can trust to do an amazing job! You are in good hands with her! I absolutely love, love, love her!

I saw Emily for the first time today for a haircut and I was very impressed. Since moving back to CA 8 months ago, I have been searching for someone to cut my hair that I can trust completely. I finally found that in Emily. She fixed my botched haircut (from just the day before) and I walked away from her chair feeling beautiful, Sassi and absolutely loving my cut. Jolee is so good at what she does! If you are looking for great color or a new cut she will do an amazing job. I always get my highlights done, perfect every time, very natural looking. I recently brought in a picture of a haircut I wanted and Jolee made my hair look exactly like it. I took a picture of my hair when it was done and my friends couldn’t tell between my hair and the picture, it was that good! If you are looking for a big change she does a great short cut, Jennifer Lawrence style. I went from long to super short and it turned out great! She really knows all the current trends and techniques to make you look great every time. Book an appointment with Jolee, I know I have found my go to stylist!

I went to this salon on a whim because I decided to cut my hair short. I haven’t had a cut like this since I was 18 (and swore I’d never do it again). Being now 31, I was starting nursing school in a few days and needed something short for convenience. I made an appointment with Jolee that same day and was not disappointed! She was great. She listened to my ideas and looked at pictures and totally transformed my look. I was a little nervous having short hair, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my haircut. I have officially found the stylist for me!
