My fiancée are in sac for business trip and we were cravin casual seafood on a budget. Although this restaurant was very nice and the entrees were great, it was not what we were in the mood for. If we were dressed more formal or for a special occasion this would have been perfect but we were in the mood for casual with flip flops haha

I came here with my fraternity for a Founder’s Day Dinner. We rented out a room in the back for our dinner. It was a pre-set dinner with soup, shrimps and mash potatoes, and raspberry ice cream for dessert. The restaurant was very nice and classy. They have a bar and their drinks were pretty good. My shrimp dish was alright but it was a bit salty. I also saw that they had happy hour with cheap oysters! Overall, It was a nice dinner and the atmosphere was very chill.

We enjoyed the initial restaurant ambience, the calamari appetizer as well as the prompt and friendly service but that’s where the positives stop. We were rather underwhelmed with our main entrees(sole fish, jambalaya, and salmon/soft sell crab dish). Although the entrees looked appetizing, the consensus was that either some parts were under seasoned while other parts were over sauced making the whole dish taste like a one note flavor. We figured that the«over-saucing» was due to the large demographic of elderly customers — helping them taste the food by smothering delicate fish with heavy sauce. Bottom line: passable and ok, but not my favorite.

If money isn’t an object and you want a relaxed place with good fish, then Scott’s is your restaurant. It’s got tablecloths and friendly waiters. My swordfish and coconut prawns were worth the $ 24. Nice preparation and presentation. Everyone loved their fish. Had Dogfish Head Ale too, so that got them a fifth star.

My fiancé surprised me today and took me out to dinner. We came here for the first time. The price is very expensive BUT the food is delicious. I recommend making reservations as the wait can be 20+ minuets. There’s a bar in front that you can wait at and bar tables as well. Scott’s is a popular place for the older generation to meet up with friends and have some drinks. Our server was Mandy and she was very nice and attentive. Bread and butter were first brought to the table along with ice water and a thin slice of lemon(nice elegant touch). The bread was too dry, I guess I’m spoiled with boudine bread. We started out with the Panko Crusted Coconut Prawns. I was very disappointed. It was 12.95 for the appetizer of 5 smallish sized prawns. They were ok, not great but eh. I was sad that the coconut was not very present. The coating was too think and over powered the prawn. I tasted more bread than prawn. However the mango chutney was to die for. It was a very expensive and non impressive appetizer. I recommend trying something else. After eating our appetizer we waited for 45 minuets for dinner. It was a LONG wait. I was very unhappy but I do give credit to our server as she acknowledged the slow wait and apologized. She checked in with us frequently. Once our dinner finally arrived the manager brought our food to the table. She apologized for the long wait and offered desert on the house. It was a very kind gesture and made up for the wait. We were very appreciative. I had originally wanted the Jerk Seasoned Pacific Swordfish and Coconut Prawns. It was $ 26.95. I opted out for the Jerk Spiced Pacific Swordfish Sandwich. OHMYGOSH! It was absolutely amazing. At only $ 14.95 I found out is was almost exactly the same thing as the dinner option but instead of rice you get the bread. Now I know when you see the word ‘sandwich’ at a high end restaurant you think of a unimpressive bland meal but this my friends is the best kept secret of the restaurant. The meal was plated with fresh fruit such as sliced oranges and kiwi and delicious french fries that were seasoned with fresh pepper. The sandwich was layered with lettuce, mango chutney and huge slices of avocado. It’s quite a steal and I HIGHLY recommend it, even the manager agreed. My fiancé got the Grilled Mexican Gulf Prawn Skewers. It was so incredibly good. The prawns were perfect and they layered spinach underneath the mashed potatoes for a wonderfully delicious surprise. We both agreed the wait was well worth it. For our desert we opted for the crème brule. It came with a twisted cookie and scrumptious whipped crème. The sugar crust was perfect but the crème part was a little too sweet. Even though we had a long wait the food made up for it. I will be back as the food is wonderful. I give high marks to our server Mandy and the Manager for such excellent service.

Lots of old people. Definitely felt really young here and out of place with my Nike dunks and purple American Apparel sweater. If you plan to come here first out of your group of friends, the servers will not respond to you once you have more people at your table. I was unbothered for 15 minutes until my first guest came and that’s when the customer service started rollin through. Their calamari was TOO salty. It was enough to fill our group of 4 – 5 but it wasn’t appetizing. Their lemon drop was good though.

I haven’t been here for a few years since they opened the Scott’s on the River location. My brother tells me that this Munroe site has the best Happy Hour eats and drinks. Assorted seafood delicacies at ½ half the norm… Must check it out soon!

Always like warm brie as an appetizer. Typically get the skirt steak but changed to the espresso rubbed ribeye, made extra spicy. Steak was well cooked with good flavor, green beans were good too.

I have been going to Scott’s for four years now. I have been to this location several times, and at the river location next to Le Rivage as well. Scott’s is a trendy, contemporary seafood focused restaurant, but it also has a nice selection of steaks and turf grub. I often get the Jerk Swordfish on a bed of coconut-cilantro rice, coconut prawns, topped with grilled avocado, plantains & mango chutney. It is consistently great, leaving me reluctant to move on to other options. The Brie pie with cranberry/apple sauce is also sinfully good. They have Dogfish IPA on tap, as well as a good list of wines and Scotch. Overall, this is a very good place for a non-sushi option of seafood in Sacramento.

I was totally pleasantly surprised by this place. My husband got a gift certificate from a co worker so we checked it out. Got there at 6pm on a Friday night and had some nicely priced happy hour appetizers and drinks(see my pic for menu) then had a great dinner. Got the crab louis salad and lobster tail with the filet added on and had the waitress split both. We were only charged $ 2 for splitting the higher priced meal. Got plenty of extra sides/veggies for the split. Topped off the dinner with a slice of key lime pie(to-go, because we were STUFFED). As a HUGE key lime pie fan, this was pretty decent. Very nice crust with macadamia nuts and sweet caramel sauce. Didn’t really care for the passion fruit sauce though. Tasted kinda artificial. Overall I would visit again. It’s so hard to find a decent seafood place. I’m still searching for«THE» seafood place in Sac…

A great spot for a romantic, pre-Valentine’s(we went on Sunday, 2⁄12). We had a great experience; I feel bad for those of you who’ve had issues/problems :( My spicy crab bisque was quite tasty, as was Hubby’s caesar salad. I had the filet and grilled shrimp entrée, which was very good, as was Hubby’s cobia(sic?) special. We topped off our meal with the wonderful warm apple and dried cherries crisp. We’ll probably look to Scott’s for our next«special occasion» dining place; I like it!

I read some pretty mixed reviews so I wasn’t sure what to expect. We made reservations for 2 on a Friday evening at 6:00 which was totally unnecessary as the place was not at all full. We decided to sit at the bar because they had drink and appetizer specials. We ordered a couple glasses of wine(Scott’s Chardonnay $ 3.75), the Calamari($ 6.95), and the Crispy Shrimp($ 5.95). The appetizers were excellent fried goodness. They came with some sauces which were quite unique and good. For dinner, we split the Lobster Tail/Filet Mignon combo($ 40) and the Crab Louis Salad($ 18.95) which was a ton of food. The Filet was prepared quite well and cooked the medium that we asked. Split fee was $ 2 but it added a lot of extra food. We ordered the Key Lime Pie for dessert to go. Sitting on the couch eating it now and it is quite good too. Overall, pretty impressed with this place!

Had the Tuna Two Ways for dinner last night. The seared portion was delicious. The presentation very nice. Scott’s remains a comfortable option with solid choices.

This place is so awful it hardly even deserves the time I’m giving to write this review. I came here on a Thursday for their happy hour which includes their infamous $ 1 oysters. The oysters were tiny and had nothing special about them. The only thing that made up for the sad excuse for oysters is the cocktail I ordered. The service was sad and pathetic. Our waitress was slow and paid little to no attention to my party of 6. She didn’t even notice when two additional people sat down at our table. AVOIDTHISPLACE.

I’ll keep it short. Nothing awful happened, but it wasn’t worth the money. 1) Pricey, 2) Food was not very good, 3) Service was slow, 4) Décor was much like a restaurant you would find in a hotel. Ordered farm to table meal, and while the appetizer and salad were ok(nothing mind blowing), but the main meal was weird(some sort of crunchy grain) and had a very small portion. I’ve had much better elsewhere… for less money.

I came here with friends for the Shuck em and Shake em Thursday. We ordered everything on the menu: fresh shucked oysters, fried oysters, Rockefeller oysters, applewood smoked oysters, fried prawns, and fried calamari. The fresh shucked oysters were by the far the best. Very fresh, served with horseradish, cocktail sauce, mignonette sauce, and a lemon wedge. The Rockefeller oysters came hot soaked in a creamy pesto sauce, which was too rich for my liking. The applewood smoked oysters were smoked beforehand and arrived cold and dry. It was probably the worst of the bunch. Fried calamari was unremarkable but the prawns were very well done and worth ordering again. The bartender was also very nice and provided prompt service. Will be back next week for sure!

My date and I just finished up with massages when we decided to grab a nice Holiday dinner(December) :) What a nice treat for ourselves! I had never been here before and was very happy to have finally tried the place. We had gone to dinner here on a Sunday night, so the restaurant was not at all busy. It was quiet… but it was nice. The food is pricey… but you definitely get what you pay for. For those who love seafood… this is definitely a must to try. I look forward to going again.

In an attempt to lose a few pounds off of our fat asses, the boyfriend and I have spent all week eating healthy meals. Scott’s was very accommodating when he requested a side of their Grilled Prawns over rice pilaf with a side of veggies… for less than $ 16! All this without the server rolling her eyes at us. Class act. As a pat on the back for 5 days of hard work, we promptly rolled over to Top’s Yogurt. Fitting, right?

I was driving around trying to decide what to do for dinner recently, craving a steak but not sure I wanted to pay steakhouse prices when I spotted the sign for Scott’s at Loehman’s Plaza. It was a Wednesday night and the restaurant wasn’t busy, so I sat at the bar and chatted with the bartender, Jun. ESPN was showing baseball so we discussed the season so far and then moved on to golf. Jun definitely makes you feel comfortable and also knows how to mix a good drink. I started with the fried calamari with thai chili and cocktail sauces. It was very good and I made my way through it quickly. Still hungry, I went for the full dinner menu and ended up ordering the filet mignon with scallops. Prior to the meal, you also get sourdough bread which I love but I attempted to limit my intake because I didn’t want to get too full before my entrée arrived. When the main course came, the filet was delicious and the scallops were perfectly cooked. If it weren’t completely inappropriate I would have licked the plate. This is the type of place I love to find. Upscale but not stuffy. Delicious food but not so fancy that you don’t know what you’re getting. If I could eat like this every night, I would do so. However, if you can’t go there every night, it’s nice to treat yourself once in a while.

Came her again on Thursday. And of course, left full beyond belief of sweet juicy oysters. This time I enjoyed their crab cakes and crab bisque. Let me tell you, those crab cakes are heaven. I could write an epic poem the size of ‘The Odyssey” about how much I really enjoyed these crab cakes. Okay, maybe not a poem that big, but maybe a haiku. The sauce it comes with is what I think makes that dish. Nice and spicy! And that crab bisque was rich. And those croutons they have on it are killer. What could be better than little squares of puff pastry floating on your soup? Nothing. Drinks of course are great. You can get a $ 6 martini with your $ 1 oyster.
