Smog In

Talk about garbage service. I came in here to get a smog check and waited at the counter for 15 mins and nobody came to ask if they could help me. Just when some guy behind the counter walks in, he doesn’t even acknowledge me and carries on to the back. I left and took my business elsewhere. Stay away from this piece of garbage business.

I appreciate the transaction that happened at Smog-​In. I came here based on a referral and I was not disappointed. Tommy, the business owner is down-​to-​earth, honest, and a straight forward communicator. He guided me through the situation and taught me a few things about my car I never knew. I was dreading not being able to pass Smog at first, but Tommy accurately diagnose the problem and with his miracle hands and extensive knowledge, he was able to get my baby «put –put» back on the road. I highly recommend his service. Note: my car is a 2004 Toyota Corolla with 250,000 miles.

A friend refer me here. I thought I should give it a try and guess what… I will never go there again. I pass my smog and everything else but fail the visual. Like WTH. Aren’t you suppose to do the visual FIRST before doing the smog test?. (I dont know, was told by the other smog place) plus they wouldnt take the coupon i have online .What a rip. Yea they got my money. Ya can keep it. and Im not coming back for that BS $ 10 retest. so Right after failing the smog test I went to another place and PASS. Due to my aftermarket part the other guy said that if I’m using aftermarket part I wouldn’t need any OEM parts WITH my aftermarket parts.

My husband took my car in yesterday, as we thought it didn’t pass. We were told they would fix it for $ 80. Now my husband went back today to get it done and they told him it was $ 80 to test my car (it wasn’t to fix it) because what they have told me yesterday wasn’t why it failed. So now they’re expecting me to pay $ 80 to retest after I had it tested YESTERDAY? I’m calling the manager as soon as I get the name of the person who help us yesterday and told us it would be $ 80 to fix plus free retest. I will change my Unilocal review once this is fixed.
If nothing changes and I do not get my money back I will definitely report them to the BBB.

UPDATE: WASTE OF TIME and MONEY
My husband and father in law went in today to talk to them about it. Turned out the man who was there explain it wrong.
So just an FYI so you don’t get your money robbed (even if it’s only $ 30) tell them you want the SMOG AND the DIAGNOSTICS (if your car doesn’t pass). Apparently you have to pay these two separate ($ 30 + $ 80) so $ 110 for them to tell you whats ACTUALLY wrong with your car. In all honestly that’s a load of BS. I would have expected them to tell me how much it was to get it SMOGED AND for them to tell me how much it was going to be to let me know what was wrong with it… since that’s what I asked for. Now that’s $ 30 down the drain and time wasted… I could have gone to another place where it would have costed me at least half the price for ALL that I needed NOT JUST FOR HALF THE WORK.

I had my jeep smogged here and I went right when they opened and it was done within thirty minutes. Also someone in the previous comments mentioned they were watching undercover bosses and again that is what they were playing. Price was $ 45 for a hemi I can’t complain

Don’t take your car here. I toke my car here. He advise me that I need to fix several hoses in order to pass. He offered to fix it for $ 150. I knew my car is in good shape. I recently replaced those hoses. He failed me by looking at it and have the ball to charge me. I asked for a refuse, but he refuse. Few days later, I went to another smog place and pass without any issue.

Called and asked how much it was to get my 2010 Acura TSX smogged. It was only $ 40 compared to other places charging $ 55 to $ 60 in the area. I got there and the board on the wall said $ 55, and the guy told me the price he gave me was $ 15 off. He said not to worry about checking in on Unilocal because he already gave me the discounted price.
Service was fast and I would definitely come here again.

This is the second car I brought in to be smogged here. The staff are pleasant and professional and the wait has been minimal on both occasions. I have been to other smog shops but I like the service here and the location is perfect with plenty of parking.

Very straight-​forward and friendly! Called in ahead to get a quote for my car, and the technician honored the Unilocal coupon, making the price for my 1999 Corolla for just $ 40 after taxes. Went in when there was about 2 – 3 customers ahead of me and everything finished within 40 minutes. I would recommend this place, this was my first smog check ever, and I was not disappointed.
In addition there’s netflix playing on the TV out in the lobby, so you won’t get bored if you plan on waiting there! :)

So so bad. Waited 30 min. No service then when a customer in front asked they told him machine broken. After another 30 min. I asked and machine broke again.(for smog) so I left. Ridiculous. They do it for 39.99 with website coupon +8.95 to register. But the wait is 1hr plus.

Don’t know what to say. Just another shady place that should be avoided. Show the guy at the front desk a $ 29.75 coupon and he said it was going to be $ 40 because my car was different. I didn’t argue because I just wanted it down to register my car. After an hour and a half, me sitting at taco bell next door, i came back he said it didn’t pass. He said it was blowing blue smoke during the snap test. He said that his guys next door can fix it if I like. Now that sounds kinda shady. Fail me on a visual just so you can fix it next door. There is some type of scam going on. I am going to call the BAR Referee to this location and explain what happen and have the test done with the State of CA watching. I will update the results. BTW, I took it to Jiffy Lube and the smog passed without any problems. Something fishy going on here.

I went in around 3pm and was in and out in 30 mins. The place is very clean and the guy was pretty nice.

Great service, the technician was very helpful. This is a great example of the way a business is doing their job with a smile.

Good customer service. Fast and simple. 55 $ but had a 15 $ off coupon from Unilocal.So now it is 40 $. Saved some money.

Never again will I go to smog in. Muthafuckas do illegal hot smogs but is gonna fail me on visual for a so called collapsed pcv hose. I understand u guys are a business and need to make money but why the fuck will you still smog a car that your gonna fail for some dumb shit. Not even worried about the money its time that was wasted something money can’t buy. Stay loyal to your customers and They’d stay loyal to you. Im sure im not the only person that it happened to.

These guys are great! I had a issue with a previous company and decided to take all my cars elsewhere.
WHen you walk in, you are enguaged with a smile and they facility is clean for a shop.
I was in and out pretty quick, I have no issues coming back here with all my cars from now on.

Fast service, $ 40 after all tax/​fees with Unilocal deal.
Came in, took my car immediately and went to buy some groceries at the Asian Market next door.
Came back 20 minutes later and my car was ready to go!
Fast and cheap, can’t ask for more.

I took my 2004 in for her biennial smog, grabbing a $ 28.95 (plus $ 8.25 for certification) coupon from the local pennysaver — they also offer $ 15 off with the Unilocal check-​in. I got very lucky on timing, hitting them about 30 minutes after opening on a Saturday morning after a big holiday so absoutely no wait, woohoo! A very simple form fill-​out, then about a 15 minute wait while the car is smogged. Their wait room is simple, with about 8 chairs, a Coke machine, and Undercover Boss playing on Netflix on their small but nice wall-​mounted flatscreen. Works for me!
Car passed, coupon was honored at the price promised, in a very reasonable turnaround time. No complaints!
