Smokers Wild BBQ

Stopped by the food truck event (SACMOFO) in Rancho Cordova during my lunch break today. I’ve visited this venue a few times in the past and have not been disappointed.
Today’s visit found me at the Smokers Wild BBQ truck checking out the menu for something pork. I’m a fan of all things pig and the pulled pork sammie with BBQ sauce and slaw called to me. Stepping up to the order window I’m greeted by a friendly gent sporting a pig meat cut chart tattoo on his arm. I mention the coolness of his ink and he quickly shows me he has the bovine equivalent on his other forearm. Gotta respect someone who’s that dedicated to their work!
So I order the pulled pork sandwich and a side of mac n cheese.
Ten minutes pass and I hear my name called. Order up! I grab my grub and quickly find a table.
At first look it’s obvious these folks know how to build a sandwich. Lots of meat, generous sauce, slaw positioned perfectly, all on a fresh, but substantial roll.
And it was absolutely delicious! I enjoyed every single pignormous bite. Six napkins later and I’m finished. And so happy.
But then there was the Mac and cheese that accompanied my meal. A styro container held my pasta order. I found a very high cheese-​to-​noodle ratio and expected greatness from this offering. However, it was only adequate in my opinion. Not bad at all, just not up to the standard of the tasty sandwich experience. I felt it lacked creaminess but certainly not cheesy-​ness!
After an absolutely enjoyable lunch, I headed back to my office and took up residence in my fabric covered cubicle and happily completed my work day.
Smokers Wild BBQ is definitely at the top of my food truck list for top-​notch eats at a very fair price.

Elk Grove food truck mania — had the three way, tri tip, sausage, and pulled pork. All three were amazing, BBQ sauce was great as well. Mac n cheese is a BBQ staple; however, the Mac n cheese is not good. It was cold, lacked salt, many of the noodles had nothing on them and some of them even appeared uncooked.

After seeing pictures of their parfait, I had them bookmarked right away. Unfortunately, they no longer do parfaits and they no longer carry glass jars (some venues won’t allow it) I ended up trying them out anyway .
Saw them at Eagles nest park during Sactomofo and since I was craving mac n cheese, I said «eff you» to my dairy allergy and decided to party! (This turned into a regret btw someone please tell me to stop trying to be a badass cause it’s not working. It never will.) I ordered the Mac n cheese with tri tip. The friendly man inside the truck was so entertaining and funny. I wanted to like their Mac n cheese as much as I liked that mans humor but I just couldn’t :(once I received my food, I thought it looked pretty good ! but after my first bite, I realized oh my. This Mac n cheese is cold and instead of cheese oozing out of those elbow macaroni, it was grease ! This dish had about three pieces of tri tip in it and I loved the barbecue sauce but couldn’t enjoy the tri tip because it was all fatty pieces .
Again, I wanted to like their food so bad but I couldn’t after this experience. I’m not sure if I’d come back or not.

Just had their bbq after 3 hours wait, definitely not worth the wait. I ordered pulled pork and pork belly, since they were the only 2 left.
No smoke flavor anywhere to be found, I can do the same thing with my gas grill. Bbq sauce is good but I was looking for bbq, and not bbq sauce. Definitely I will not come back, even if there is no wait.

First off when you think BBQ you think the basic of it all.
Ribs
Brisket
Etc. Etc.
Yet they have so much more then that. BBQ sandwiches a ton of sides and a flavor that will have you wanting more and more! Will definitely be going back! Recently they’ve added LOADED mac n cheese! Come get it your way and it will be sure to please!

I hired them 2 years ago to pull into my drive way and cater for my little sister’s wedding reception. THEY WERE A HIT!!! Great food. Enthusiastic and fun presence. These guys are great. Total class acts in my book. Work hard play hard. There is no question as to how much they love what they do.
Needing to hire again for a school fundraiser. They are hard to nail down, but are happy to give you some referals to other legit food trucks.

I’m not sure why I haven’t reviewed these guys yet. These guys are awesome! I love their pulled pork sliders and it’s what I get every time I go. I was a little hesitant at first just because they are a little on the pricey side, but to me they are so worth it. I’m not sure what’s up with the reviewers who are giving them 2 star reviews.
Give them a go when you see them around!

My wife and I love smokers wild! I just went over to sac to mo fo and grabed their red white and brisket, it was really good! However, the coleslaw was absolutely disgusting! Warm soaking in it’s own vinegar. It had a very bizarre texture to it. It was unedible. For 3 bucks I felt a little ripped off. Oh well, I will be back, but no more slaw for this guy.

Smokers Wild BBQ was quite disappointing, to say the least. Myles and I would give this food truck an overall rating of 2 stars.
We found Smokers while at a food truck event in Rocklin and we were really excited to see somewhere that smoked things. So we just had to try something from their menu. However, we were pretty let down…

Pigwich Sliders $ 9 — Myles, who is an Alabama native, has a very good taste for bbq. Basically he says that he would never go back. The sliders had pulled pork in them with some bbq sauce on top. The bbq sauce tasted like it was just Sweet Baby Rays, and the meat was flavorless. I honestly would say that the meat was just baked in the oven. When going to a place that’s called ‘Smokers’, you would expect the food to actually have a smoky flavor to it.
Overall, we would not go back to this food truck.

I wanted to like Smokers Wild BBQ more than I did. Based on other Unilocal reviews I had moderate to high expectations.
Lodi has a monthly food tuck mania and I opted to try Smokers. I wanted the pulled pork parfait but when I arrived at the counter the order option was being removed from the order board. No biggie. I tried the pulled pork sliders instead.
I was not impressed.
The bread was soft but the meat was on the dry side and lacked that good, smokey flavor I was hoping for. The added wonton strips seemed out of place and the small addition of barbecue sauce didn’t make up for the lack of cohesiveness of the rest of the dish.
Given other food truck options, I likely won’t return.

I love BBQ, Sacramento has some pretty great BBQ places but Smokers Wild is top notch all the way! Great team of people that work this truck. The food shows passion and has always been excellent each time I have eaten at Smokers Wild!
Brisket rocks and the ribs have been perfect!

Not only is the food amazing, these are some of the nicest food truck folks out there. Chicken Sliders for the win!
Vegetarians can safely accompany carnivores — they have Mac n cheese and Texas toast.
If you’re a fan of chicken, or just want to change it up, I highly recommend the Chicken Sliders: Pulled chicken, tomatoes and a slathering of BBQ sauce on 2 tasty buttery buns for $ 10.

They were at food truck mania last night and after my sad BBQ place locally, I was eager to try a new place. Right away I saw a Pulled Pork Parfait… I was intrigue. I got one for my wife and one for me.
They came filled to the brim in a mason jar. That is a very nice touch (all my glasses in my house are mason jars, I like the country feel). It was layered MacnCheese, Pulled pork, onion crisps, then all 3 layers again.
The pulled pork and bbq sauce were both very good. The onion crisps added texture and the mac an cheese was a bit plain but with the BBQ sauce all mixed in, it didnt take away from the star being the pulled pork. It was tasty. I was worried it wouldn’t be enough food but by the time I scraped the bottom I was full.
The guy was really nice and had a better set up than the other food trucks there. He actually came outside and handled the orders and pulled them from the truck himself, maybe that takes away from being a food truck but I’m not a fan of trying to talk through a tiny window and then eventually finding my food resting on the other window so him pulling them out and then calling them out was a nice touch.
I cant give half stars otherwise it would be 4.5 stars. The half star off was the price. It was a bit more than I would have thought for the amount of the meat.
I will pick them again over all the other food trucks in a heart beat. Yea it might cost more but I’m willing to pay for it.

The guy there recommended the hot links but i was cravin ribs. Their pork ribs is so good! If it was not pricey i could have gotten both. I will try the hot links next time.

Today the food truck was at the Capitol Park during the lunch hour. I was excited to try out the BBQ.
After checking out the prices, I was hesitant. The prices are a bit steep, but I wanted to try the rib plate. So I paid $ 11 for 4 pork ribs and half a dinner roll. The ribs were drizzled with BBQ sauce. The half roll was buttered and toasted (or possibly grilled) to give it a nice crispiness. The ribs were meaty and the flavor was ok. I didn’t taste the smoke on it. I forgot to ask if the ribs were smoked or grilled.
The fella taking the orders was a big sweetie, very easy going and friendly.

Tried them at the Natomas sactomofo. I ordered the por queso because I figured por que no and it was awesome. It had thick bread with a large amount of pulled pork and of course the queso. The guy that takes the order is very friendly and the wait wasn’t’ t that long. Would try them out again.

The food is good but not great.
Very pricey.
$ 12 for 2 ribs and a hot link. Crazy!
Or maybe I am crazy to pay that.
They put minimal bbq sauce on the meats so you have to ask for more.
They give extra sauce when asked but its in a x-​small container.
So my advice, ask for 3 or 4 containers of bbq sauce.
Most flavorful meat they have is the pulled pork.

What a fun and friendly food truck!
I am hesitant to review Smokers Wild BBQ because at the time I consumed it I wasn’t functioning on all taste buds.
I wanted something really spicy and I feel they delivered! I was able to get a hot link on a bun with the secret hot sauce. I was definitely feeling the heat. I loved the buns! Smokers Wild, you have some really sexy hotdog buns. The bread was amazing! Soft and squeezable for maximum hot link enjoyment. I’ll just leave that there.
My husband and I also split a cole slaw. He had a brisket sandwich. Best way to get a man to be quiet, hand him a brisket sandwich! He was busy eating it, which means it was Greg G. approved. I felt the coleslaw was a little pricy ($ 3.00 for a small container) but from what I could tell it was homemade. Fine, okay, borderline pricy.
Another shoutout to the big guy who runs the truck. What a friendly guy. He made the ordering process fun and you can see they love what they do. They also have the coolest looking truck! See if you can find the piggies on the playing cards!

I’ve been conversing via email with Aaron of Smokers Wild Bbq to get a quote for our wedding reception. He’s been awesome and SUPER patient with all of my many questions. I met Chris today as he was the one taking orders and handling the moolah. I can sit here and tell you about how friendly these guys are, how awesome their customer service skills are (my sandwich was free because it was considered a tasting session for my wedding reception) These guys rock. Period… But let’s talk food shall we?
My normal go-​to bbq menu item is pulled pork with a side of cole slaw to dump on top of the sandwich… let’s switch it up. Ordered the red, white and brisket sandwich and I am not one bit sorry that I did. This brisket. This freakin brisket was like butter! Wasn’t stringy or chewy. Juicy and damn flavorful. The roll was soft and soaks up all those yummy juices. The blue cheese adds this bit of tartness in the background. The crunchy onions and that sauce! Damn this is good sandwich! Our wedding guests are gonna be so spoiled with this food.
