Hidden little gem that is close to the medical center. Their menu is extensive for a small establishment. Pleasant and unique. Make sure to check out. I had the fajitas :). Their chicken tacos are also good.

Soleil is great for food and service! I placed a catering order for a breakfast burrito buffet for my office. Naomi was very professional and easy to work with! They gave me a fair price and pulled out all the stops! They provided warm trays of eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, mixed veggies, cheese and two types of salsa on the side. The tortillas were out of the world large! Serving silverware and plenty of napkins were provided as wrll. I think this is the best catering my small office has had because everyone was raving about it. Again Naomi was very pleasant to work with and I appreciate bow prompt they were about everything. It was a hit! Thank you so much Soleil for making this happen!

Great food, good prices, nice people — plan to go many more times! My only wish was that they were open later during the week and/or on the weekends!(currently open M-F 8 – 4)

So happy to see new restaurants on Stockton Blvd! Can I get an, «amen!» for restaurants who serve breakfast through the lunch hour? On my visit I had a vegetarian breakfast burrito with eggs, potatoes, cheese, grilled veggies and beans. This burrito was HUGE! Definitely a 2 meal situation. I have to give them props for nailing the grilled veggies. Perfectly cooked and not greasy or oily. Ingredients were well proportioned and worked together in a tasty harmony. The folks who run the place obviously care about quality and were super nice and accommodating. Vegetarians can get a veggie quesadilla or torta as well. I recommend supporting this restaurant and helping them to thrive in the neighborhood!

Traveled to Sacramento from New Orleans for medical treatment at UC Davis for my husband when I ran across this little gem. I came upon it while walking from my hotel to Walgreens. Glad I stopped. The owners are really friendly and the food is terrific. Tried some rice water. It was outta this world good. The street tacos are to die for. Made another trip before leaving to go back home because it was so good. Will definitely go back if we ever come back to Sacramento!

So happy that the former Café Soleil has been reinvented in this great location by the UCD Med Center and that they will also still be serving Merlino’s Freeze in a nod to the location’s history. The food is fresh and tasty and the prices VERY reasonable(street tacos are $ 1.99 — choice of chicken, carnitas, carne asada, and fish.) Delicious soups too! I wish them great success!!!

Newly opened and relocated from downtown Sacramento where Café Soleil reigned for 20 years in Cesar Chavez Park. They served amazing breakfast and lunch food — huge menu — to thousands over the years. I loved that place. Imagine my surprise to learn they had closed. But more surprising that they have relocated near me and across from UC Davis Med Center. Open Monday-Friday for breakfast and lunch, the menu is much smaller but still incredibly delicious. This one-time orange freeze stand — locally known as Merlino’s — and most recently a chicken café — is a landmark on Stockton Boulevard. Thrilled to see it open again and under the culinary skills of Soleil. I savored a couple of street tacos — chicken and carne asada — homemade chips and two kinds of salsa. Only open two days when I happened by, I expect to be hearing and tasting great things at Soleil Mexican & American Cuisine. Stop by and greet our/your new neighbors. Outdoor seating clearly in the good weather is a big plus. Don’t let rain keep you away — they easily do takeout. I expect to add the 5th star in the days ahead. Menu includes homemade soups, sandwiches, breakfast burritos, tacos, tortas and more.
