I don’t know if it’s just me but the normal Fresas con crema that I buy at any other place the crema isn’t liquidy it’s much thicker that and it was way way too sweet, I get it Fresas con Crema is sweet but this one was way too sweet.

Mangonada was good. Small and hot joint. Terribly air conditioned. Not too many tables to sit. Long lines! They don’t do a good job at making sure you are ordering what you expect. Bit expensive $ 7 average cost. I wanted the strawberry mangonada but got strawberry sorbet?!? They didn’t even bother to try to switch it for me. So I knock 1 star off for that. 1 other thing I recommend getting the small as the medium is big enough for 2 people to share.

I read so many good things about this place yet my experiences haven’t been to good. I tried it for the very first time when they first opened, I ordered a fruit cup with the chili, the mangos were super hard, not even sure how they cut them but they weren’t edible. Tried again months later, ordered the Mangonada, same thing. Mangos weren’t ripe. Just went again a few days ago, my daughters ordered the cucumber and watermelon cup… Green cucumbers and very bitter. I decided to stay with the people who walk around with the carts.

I usually go to Paletalandia, but I wanted to try a new place with mangoneadas. Two words: not impressive. Two more words: never again. The mangos were ALL green, they weren’t remotely ripe!!! I shelled out $ 16 bucks for a huge disappoint. I can’t believe they couldn’t just tell me they were out of ripe mangoes… I would have bought something else. This is the FIRST and LAST time I’ll go to this place. Thanks for the cold, unripe mangoes…

Went a couple of weeks ago from Davis with a friend who’s from sac that highly recommended it. I had high expectations and was disappointed(to say the least). I ordered a tejuino and a pepinada(lime freeze). The tejuino wasn’t too ban but it did have a much lighter(sweeter) taste than a good tejuino should have.(There’s a place in Dixon that sells really good tejuino). I asked the younger lady if the ice cream they use in the mangoneadas and pepinadas was nieve de garrafa and she said yes so I ordered one. She DOESNOT know what nieve de garrafa is. That crappy lime freeze is far from it and tastes bland. On another note: they have the names of the desserts all mixed up(i.e. mangoneada and diablito). I don’t know about you but what they call them here is not what they call them everywhere else I’ve been. A mangoneada is frozen mango shaved ice with chamoy(what they call a diablito); a diablito is nieve de garrafa(either lime, mango, or tamarind) with chamoy, chili powder, and the chili candy stick; and a chamango is mango nieve de garrafa with chamoy, chili powder, mango chunks, and the chili candy(what they call a mangoneada). Definitely won’t be going back to this place.

Great place. I love the treats and desserts they have. My family and I love coming here during the summer. The only thing that sucks is that there isn’t much place to sit. So plan on enjoying standing up or in the car. Other than that it’s such a great place for desserts.

I’m pregnant and was craving elote! So I found this spot on Unilocal.I actually live right down the street so I’ve seen this spot before. So glad we came. They have so many options and they all look so satisfying. We ordered the tosti ceviche $ 8, tosti elote $ 5, hot Cheetos with cheese $ 3, and a banana split $ 8. All was so good. Girls who worked their were nice. We sat outdoors. Definitely be back soon!!! Oh and I bought my hubby flan in a cup and also rice pudding in a cup, $ 2.50 each, he said the flan was really good, but the rice pudding wasn’t sweet enough. But I liked it. Lol

I’m a regular. They have so many different things to choose from ! Never left disappointed ! From fruit to ice cream to nachos to elote to tostilocos and many other options. They have indoor and out door patio seating. Their business is very clean, including the bathroom. It’s always a pleasure stopping by !

I love this place, can’t get enough of it! My go to place for the summer! Crazy Apple, Mangonadas, Tostilocos, and Piña Loca are my favorites so far. A full description of every item on the menu would be very helpful. At the entrance, so while in line you can make up your mind. It can be overwhelming with so many tasty and tempting looking things on the menu to make a choice when you’re not sure what everything is. It would also get the line moving quicker. Friendly staff, clean facility, fresh authentic ingredients. Great place for your antojitos Mexicanos!

Ordered the 50⁄50 gunthers pineapple slushi and gunthers coconut ice cream. Was really good just what I wanted. Hubby had mangoneada mango slushi w. Mangos and chilli powder he also enjoyed his. My son got strawberry snow cone but did not like his bc it had real strawberries and thick syrup, thought it was going to be the artificial syrup. My daughter also ordered a mango flavored snow cone and that was the typical artificial snow cone which she liked.

Looking for a variety of treats then this is the place. You can go basic and enjoy regular ice cream or go all out and have a bionico. I kept it simple during my visit. I had a 50⁄50 which is freeze and ice cream. It’s gunthers ice cream so that in its self is good. The freeze was nice and soft and not watery. I’ll see when I can go back and try something different.

This place is great. It’s always very busy. The selection of snacks and other items is huge. I came here to try the Mangonadas. It was my first time and I enjoyed it. I’d get it again. This is a very fun place to find tasty treats that I’d recommend to others.

MANGONADAS!!! It’s hard to find mangonadas in this area unless you see someone with a cart near the Stockton/Asian area otherwise just come here! The mangonadas are pretty good because they use the mango fruit freeze from gunthers! The smallest size is pretty fulfilled too. The also carry gunthers ice cream here and I come here when gunthers is too busy. My favorite flavor is green tea and they carry the basic popular flavors like vanilla, birthday cake, green tea, strawberry, mango, pistachio, etc! It can get super packed here but line moves fast. More people should know about this place!

+ THEFOOD It was my first time having a mangonada and it was pretty good! The small size is perfect because it’s not too small or too big. I love how they have the option of using Gunther’s mango fruit freeze because that stuff is bomb. The tangy, spicy taste was also very interesting. However, the mango chunks weren’t really ripe yet since it wasn’t mango season so it was pretty sour.

I’m not Hispanic but I’m the hungriest person walking this planet. With that being said I had no clue what to get when I came to this spot. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and knowledgable on the entire menu. She gave me sample after sample until I found what I liked and wanted.

At long last I managed to be here when they were open. The interior has a row of tables with wooden benches/booths in the window that seems more accommodating than the few round tables that were here in the previous business incarnation. The place looked clean and well maintained. There are lots of things to choose from listed and pictured on the sign boards along the wall. They still sell Gunther’s ice cream, and you can’t go wrong with that. I was greeted pleasantly, served quickly, I felt the pricing reasonable and the quantity generous. I am now a fan of this place.

Came back during a less busy time and the guy behind the counter patiently explained everything to me and answered my nine million questions. I got the 50⁄50 with strawberry and mango freeze along with coconut ice cream. The tartness of the fruit flavored freezes worked well with the creamy smoothness of the ice cream. I really loved the combo and will try other fruit flavored like pineapple next time. We also got the fresa con crema con gelada again, but this time I tried the fresh strawberries in evaporated milk with vanilla ice cream. While I liked it, I preferred the version I got previously with the strawberry freeze better. Of course, I had to get a mangonada for my sister. Since our first trip to Sweets and Sugars, my sister has tried 4 different versions of mangonada from other shops. Sadly, none compared to S&S. So after 4 disappointing tries, my sister has declared that S&S’ version is her fave. It’s definitely Gunther’s freeze that makes the difference. It holds up and keeps its frozen consistency longer than the other ones she tried. I just wish I got the name of the guy who helped me because he was fantastic! I guess I will have to go back and find out.
