I don’t know why this Unilocal rating is so low, this place was delicious! They had a great selection of yogurt and toppings and the place was clean and well decorated. The perfect yogurt experience.

Good yogurt and a big selection of toppings. Fun place to hang out with friends if you’re looking for a low-​key desert. Nothing bad about it! Very similar to most self-​serve yogurt places. Favorite flavor is chocolate!

We love gelato and frozen yogurt. It’s affordable and delicious!

The actual fro-​yo is the best around… and yes I did a comparison. Their flavors are phenomenal: pumpkin, red velvet cake, pomegranate… and many more.

I really like this place, reminds me of frozen yogurt back home in Mexico City … Original tart with pineapple & granola… mmmmmm. it is close to work and on my way home … PERFECT !!!

This place is near me and I prefer to come here more than the other 2 yogurt places nearby. It usually offers a good selection of yogurt including some non-​fat choices too. You can taste, just ask for the small cup from the cashier. They have lots of toppings to choose from, hot sauces and fruits. I usually go for the fruit toppings and get pretty excited when I see so many different berries available. This is probably what makes me keep coming back to Yogurt Monkey.
Yogurt Monkey has some outdoor seating, plenty of parking and on the same strip there’s a coffeehouse and Esther’s Cupcakes as well as some other shops.

Not only is the service awesome, theres a huge selection of toppings — which froyo is all about — and it has a vegan option which is great.
It is nice to have a go-​to froyo place.

I used to go here a lot during college (CSUS) the girl working behind the counter marrisa (sp?) was amazing she had the greatest customer service for a yogurt place.
but as i kept going i kept getting disappointed by a bunch of things. cheesecake bits had mold one time, kinda ignorable… the ingredients got less and less fresh every time i went, it got to the point where i even questioned the yogurt it self. but the fruits toppings, ooo the fruit it was amazing when they first opened, it was the reason i could keep coming back to YM! too bad too… i got a couple of punch cards that are full if anyone wants them cus im not going here because of they just pulled the last straw.
story: they used to offer customers free water but just recently my friend (paul) and his wife asked for some plain olé tap water, just for their dog, not for them. long story short. they tried to make my friend pay for a bottle of water to give their dog a drink.
this wasnt the first negative experience but this will certainly be the last.
i dont know when this place changed like this but hey we got pinkberry now.

Unique flavors (mint froyo!) and toppings make this minuscule location seem bigger. The staff were friendly despite the fact we arrived 10 minutes before closing. We didn’t feel at all rushed. Late night cravings satiated because their open late (I say call ahead because Unilocal hours can be incorrect sometimes).

I went there for the first time today with my family and I did like it. Nice flavor choices, good topping selection, friendly staff, and a clean store. I had chocolate & strawberry yogurt with mochi, Sno-​Caps, and strawberry sauce.
My only problems were that my chocolate yogurt was a little runny, the place itself is small and a bit cramped, and the girl working wouldn’t give me a discount even though it clearly said on the whiteboard that discounts would be given with a check-​in on Facebook (she said it needed to be printed which didn’t make sense because how can I check in somewhere and print proof if I’m not there yet?)
Other than that, I liked this little yogurt shop and although I wouldn’t make it first choice, it’s still nicer than Big Spoon.

It’s a tiny self-​serve yogurt place, but I’ve always enjoyed my yogurt whenever I’ve gone. Staff always seems so cheerful. They have the standard chocolate and vanilla flavors as well as the fruit ones. Just depends on what day you go.
There are numerous toppings, fresh fruit, syrups, hot fudge, and a lof of other sugary goodness to add to your yogurt. There isn’t always much seating inside, but there are a couple tables outside as well. This is a nice spot to visit if you’re in the mood for good yogurt. Prices are average compared to other self-​serve yogurt places.

Tasty yogurt, lots of toppings. Our go-​to spot for a yogurt fix during the weekday, since we work just down the street.

The Monkey FroYo makes me get all Tim McGraw, and I’m not even that country! It’s quality yogurt, a clean place, open ’til 11p.m., and the workers I’ve encountered are friendly. These are the simple reasons I keep coming back.
Favorite flavor: Pomegranate Tart

Good variety and quality yogurt speaks for itself. This place is good, and almost disturbingly inexpensive. I don’t think I’ve topped $ 5 for two people yet, and I’m pretty liberal with the toppings. The hours are great, too! I don’t think I’ve stopped by yet and had it be closed.
Not enough is said about places that have good, quality employees, by the way. YoMo is definitely one of those places. I seem to have a nice conversation with the folks who work there pretty much every time I’m in.

We stopped in here one night after eating at Finns nearby. It is tiny, but very clean. We were able to get a small table since it wasn’t very busy.
They don’t have a big variety of flavors, but I feel that they do have quality. When we were there they had fresh fruit, and some yummy strawberries that I added to mine. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. The four of us enjoyed our creations, and agreed to stop in again. I had the Cheesecake flavor with fresh strawberries and it was yummy. I am told that the chocolate was good, as well as the peanut butter.
This isn’t your large chain store, so don’t go in expecting that kind of store. If you want a big chain, go next door to Pinkberry. Our group liked it, and will be returning again.

With so many fro-​yo places in the neighborhood, Yogurt Monkey is my least favorite. The yogurt selection is small (though the flavors are ok), but the selection of fresh fruit is AWFUL (and usually empty)!!! If you just want dry cereal on your yogurt, Yogurt Monkey might just be the place for you. But if you want to add a little nutrition to your dessert and somewhat reduce the guilt of getting a heaping pile of calories, go elsewhere.
Also, the staff has never been very helpful, and the seating area is tiny and awkward.

This place is pretty good. I just don’t know why I’m not giving it higher or lower. I guess It’s just an average yogurt place. Pretty good yogurt and a number of toppings.

The only thing that bothered me was that a few months ago I was craving yogurt and went here. It was probably 10:30PM and the doors were locked. The dude was just standing there not even mentioning or signing that they were closed… because he messed up, they closed at 11PM!!! He just stood there looking at us. Didn’t even bother to open it. He was just counting his money so he can leave work on time. WOW… now that I think about it, I might not return here unless this is the only choice. Probably go across the street for some yogurt… but I have to say usually the employees are wonderful.

Initially I didn’t like this place enough to write a good or bad review about it. The first time I tried it, there were your typical tarts, chocolate, and vanilla.
My partners and my original plan was to walk over the bike bridge into old sac to the river. Unfortunately the river was caged off for construction. SO upset.
So we ended up driving by yogurt monkey at 10 PM wondering if they were open. THEY WERE! UNTIL 11! That made my ruined night trip 110% better.
They had a lot of new great flavors, including pomegranate, and red velvet cake. He & I ended up getting the red velvet cake. It was to die for.
Now although the Yogurt was really really good, the toppings were mediocre, UNLABELED, and many of the bins didn’t have spoons.
The hot fudge machine was also out, and the sample cups were hiding.
Furthermore, the attendant was not so attendant. Unless you count shooting snarky looks in my direction, and saying less then 2 words to me the entire time I was there.
Regardless, the Yogurt was great, but the service is lackin’.

Love this place! In a quiet little strip mall… Never crowded… Nice people inside… Cheesecake Fro Yo!!! Better then that crappy Big Spoon Yogurt place. My new go to place for a tasty treat. A+
How can you resist a cute monkey as the logo?!

This yogurt shop has great toppings and is better priced than others. Plus it’s open pretty late which is great for my late night yogurt cravings… :)
They have lots of sauces that I have never seen at other yogurt shops… Delicious! I am particularly addicted to the sour apple one!
