Gratiot View Motel

I can’t express my surprise with this little place. A GOOD surprise! I was in dire need of a place to stay early in the morning and this was the only place I could find. I was told it was $ 45 a night and I’ll be honest, for that little, I was expected to «get what I payed for». When I arrived, I was leery. The outside was very stereotypical of a creepy motel from a scary movie. I got my key from the front desk and got to my room. I was with my sister and I said to her, «Be prepared to be grossed out!» She went to the room as I got things from the car. She popped her head out and said, «It’s actually not bad!» I was BEYOND pleased with the room! There was a mini fridge, a microwave, a king sized bed with SOFT linens that not only looked but SMELLED clean! There was a 32″ flat screen television and a small table too. The bathroom as small but we didn’t need space. The bathroom was also remodeled. It had a very nice new sink and mirror and toilet and the shower was big with great water pressure. I’ve stayed at FAR crappier placed for double the price. I highly recommend this place. If I were in that area more often, I wouldn’t stay any where else. Don’t let the exterior fool you. You actually get a lot more than you pay for!
