Valvoline Instant Oil Change

First of all it was nice seeing a woman working here as a technician! Wish I had her help me other than Ladale because he has a smart ass attitude, when I drove up and requested services he just smirked and said someone would help me. Troy overturned my dissatisfaction with his staff attitude!

Needed oil changed in my 2008 Kia Rondo. Saw this business on the way home so
decided to stop and try this business for the first time. I never ask how much the cost was just for an oil change, but figured everyone charges around the same price. Pulled up, did not have to wait at all, workers were not friendly but after all getting paid to change oil in cars so that was ok. I was the only one there other than one other car who they were asking the young lady where to locate something on her car. Any way about 15 minutes later was told my car was ready, went into the bay area where I paid for oil change, and almost fell over when the guy told me the cost was $ 41.96. What — they used the cheapest oil they had, conventional the guy said. TELL me how an oil change can cost this much! Never have I ever paid this much for an oil change. Definitely will not go back., work way too hard for what money I earn, and choose not to throw it away.

Bri, who I guess is the cashier, has a flippant and arrogant attitude that I found completely abrasive. When I say «I guess is the cashier» it’s because although she rang me up (more on that later) she also served to yell between customers and the lube guys in her shrill voice.
Her first yelling was to ask me about my air filter. This was expected — as they try to sell you to replace it at any oil change, but she 1. stayed at the door of the waiting room and just sorta yelled at me and 2. I guess she’s used to being told no, because it was just a jumbled, run on sentence of «HeyJustWantedToShowYouThisDoYouWantANewOneNo?OK»
The second yelling was due to how many miles I drove since my last oil change. I mean, I get it, oil change places have held onto the 3k miles/​3 month change rule. But wise up guys. Both car production and oil sophistication has evolved. If you have a later model car, and you aren’t in extreme driving conditions, chances are you can go 5k. My car is actually 7.5k miles before due for a lube up. So I’m not sure if she hasn’t been informed of the reality of oil changes yet, or if she was really adamant about 3k/​3 months, but with that arrogant tone, she relayed my responses to the technicians.

Una «No, conventional, 5w30 I think?»
Bri «What? How many miles have you gone»
Una «7,500 between changes»
Bri «ON CONVENTIONAL? NOT SYNTHETIC?!»
Una «Yeah, my manual says so»
Bri «HEY GUYS, SHE SAYS 7500 MILES BECAUSE HER MANUAL SAYS SO»
She didn’t even address me when my car was done, she just sorta yelled that the car was being pulled out while glaring at me. I think the guy before me, she at least mentioned which car it was.
And the kicker. I was only really here because I got one of the ValPak coupons in the mail. $ 5 off synthetic, $ 7 off conventional. These coupons are VERY common, I assume lots of people come through with the same coupon. You can get one right off the valvoline website. And remember the loud conversation we had about what oil I was getting? And don’t you know, the receipt on her computer outlined the service I got and even with all of that — she still applied my coupon incorrectly. I guess I gave her way too much benefit of the doubt since I didn’t check it until later and noticed she only took the $ 5 off. So I hope you didn’t spend those $ 2 all at one place, cause I doubt I’d spend any more money here.
This would easily be a 1 star review, but since the actual oil change work was done, unassumingly correct and in an efficient manner, they can have 2.

Although the waiting room needs new chairs and about 200 additional sq feet to be comfortable, the overall experience was great. I was in the shop for 12 minutes! I can fit that in my day easily. They were quick and even gave me a coupon. I have been looking for a place to service my vehicles, I think I have found it!
