History

Established in 1993.

The Manatee Café started out as a small produce business with a modest juice bar owned by George Thirgene. At the time it was called «Veggie mama’s». When Cheryl Crosley, current owner began working for George behind the juice bar, she gradually expanded it to include Breakfast and lunch. It wasn’t long before her reputation as an excellent chef transformed the juice bar into a full blown restaurant that Cherly affectionatley named «The Manatee Café». Cherly bought into the restaurant soon after to become business partners with George. As business continued to grow and the Manatee’s popularity continued to increase, Cherly moved her business to it’s current location which accomodates 3 times that of the original and includes a small area with dry foods and cooler with organic products. The Manatee Café also has souvenir Manatee Café Tee-shirts for all of you ‘out of towners’. Come see us soon and enjoy our friendly atmosphere, friendly service and healthful, delicious cuisine!
