This location is always consistent. The food is fresh and hot when it comes out. The hash brown casserole is the best. The coffee is always fresh.

Waited for way longer than I should have and my order was incorrect. I get that they are busy but step into my shoes. Long wait and not what I ordered? Boo.

As far as chain restaurants go, Cracker Barrel is one of the best. This location in particular is one of the best ones I’ve been to. The interior is similar to all Cracker Barrels: big fireplace, old country artifacts scattered all over, the grey walls. Altogether, I love the look and feel of Cracker Barrels. They are very welcoming and not too crammed. The food is always great. Not only does it taste delicious, but it’s super filling. Everything is homemade and you can easily tell. The country fried steak with mashed potatoes is always a good choice. I also love their Mac n Cheese and biscuits. You really can’t go wrong with any of the options(they even have a healthy menu now). The main difference here is the staff. While all Cracker Barrels have good staff, the ones here go above and beyond. Lots of refills from the waitress, and we were greeted with a smile by the worker at the door. They really do make you feel at home at Cracker Barrel. Interior– 5⁄5 Food– 5⁄5 Service– 5⁄5 OVERALL– 5⁄5

We came yesterday to have dinner and we bought a little kids outfit after our dinner. After we got home we noticed we were charged twice. We have now come back to return the outfit and we spoke to the manager Debbie.(She was great.) She told us since we had a big ordeal yesterday with theying to buy the outfit and then charged twice and had to come back to get our money back she would give us a free dessert and to just tell the waiter to give her the ticket. We have now set at a table waiting on a waiter to get our drink order for now 20 min. Not one single person has come to take our drink order… I’m beyond frustrated. This use to be a place we would want to stop and eat but this is absolutely crazy. We will be talking to Debbie again.

The date was November 27, 2014. It was Thanksgiving, my twelfth 21st birthday, and my fifth wedding anniversary. I wanted to go out to celebrate. I selected the Cracker Barrel for two reasons: 1. They are open on Thanksgiving. 2. And there ain’t no party like a Cracker Barrel party ’cause a Cracker Barrel party don’t stop. You probably think I’m kidding with Reason #2, but I’m not. We were there for what seemed like forever, and it really felt like it would never stop. As far as I know, the Cracker Barrel does not take reservations. They tend to be busy on regular days, and I therefore expected they would be extraordinarily busy on a major holiday. Boy, were they. On a typical day, I tend to eat lunch after 1:00PM. To account for the anticipated lengthy wait, my group arrived at 11:45. That worked out pretty well because we ended up receiving our meal at 1:30. That was perfect for me. Yet, you might ask«What the heck went on between 11:45 and 1:30?!» I shall explain. After getting our name on the waiting list, the majority of the in-between time was spent standing around in the gift shop. Note that I did not say«browsing the gift shop.» That is because it was physically impossible to move around inside the ol’ country store. Patrons were packed in like sardines. I kid you not. Though once we were seated and had ordered, our food arrived at the table fairly quickly. I ordered their $ 10.99 Thanksgiving feast that included turkey breast and cornbread dressing topped with gravy, a small portion of sugar-cured ham, sweet potato casserole with pecans, cranberry relish, the side of your choice(green beans for me), a drink, biscuits or corn muffins, and a slice of pumpkin pecan streusel pie with whipped cream. That was a lot of food. I’m not going to pretend that it wasn’t. However, I managed to eat every bit of it, including two cornbread muffins. I enjoyed the food, but I wouldn’t say it was outstanding. The only major disappointment(for me) was the sweet potato casserole. It was runny and very sweet. I would have preferred a plain sweet potato or thick mashed sweet potatoes, but that is just a personal preference. The corn muffins were what I enjoyed most. They were incredibly moist and delicious. Service was okay. The waitress wasn’t particularly attentive with regard to refills, but again, the place was packed. We had a minor mix-up on our bill. We were charged separately for two sodas that should have been included in the $ 10.99 Thanksgiving meal deal. The problem was resolved, and all was well. :) After lunch, we went to my mom’s house for part of my birthday celebration. I opened gifts, and then in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I took a two-hour post-turkey nap in the recliner. This Cracker Barrel gets three stars from me. My visit was like every other visit I’ve made to a Cracker Barrel: okie-dokie food and service. It was just a lot busier. :)

Everything, from the entrée to the biscuits were over cooked. The waitress was slow and seemed afraid to explain the menu or answer questions. Walking in the restaurant made me realize while I don’t like this place. Being attacked by Christmas music in September was unfortunate. The service seemed to be very slow for the time of day and lack of a crowd. The manager was going around asking if everyone had been served yet.

I like Cracker Barrel. This one has extremely slow service! We waited for 15 minutes after we were seated before anyone even took our drink order. Our food took another 20 mins and they were not even busy. Probably won’t be back to this location because this has happened before.

Well you see… Sometimes on a dark cloudy night I walk down the streets of New York and I wonder to myself ‘what do I do with my life’ and as I approach St. Louis I see the light of the world… Cracker Barrel.

I enjoy the breakfast but had a bad experience at my attempt at an evening meal. The hours on Saturdays are until 11pm. Even tho I was there at 9:15pm, I was ignored and the staff were clearly busy with closing activities. I was assured again that they did not close until 11pm. I got the wrong food at first attempt, no refills, they had trouble running down my server for my check at time for payment. I was quite surprised since my service at breakfasts there has always been great.

I always find my visits to Cracker Barrel delightful. My mom used to work here for many years when I was a kid(although a different location) Ever since she has, I’ve ordered the same thing. Biscuits and gravy, with a homemade chocolate milk shake. This time was no exception. I was rather hungry on this particular occassion, so I ate my three provided biscuits very quickly. The waitress noticed this, and came out with 3 more biscuits and 2 more bowls of gravy. If you put it in front of me, I am going to eat it. I have no regard for my «way to full button» in my brain. They were much busier than normal since it was the first day of Christmas vacation for most kids. It appears that many of grandparents lugged their grand kiddies along with them for breakfast. They handled the volume well, even though it was probably their B staff on a Monday morning. I was impressed, as always! I love this place!

Had the Old Timer’s Breakfast, which included 2 eggs, 2 biscuits(fresh and fluffy), gravy, grits(I should have told them to keep them — I’m just not a grits person), hash brown casserole(very good — I don’t like onions, but it was good so I didn’t mind), and 2 sausage patties. So I took one biscuit and made a sausage biscuit with strawberry jelly and took the other biscuit and made biscuits and gravy. Nice little variety platter even if it is a lot of food — to get even just a few of these items a la carte would cost just as much or more. We came at 7:15am on Saturday, and it wasn’t busy at all. But when we left at 8 – 8:15am, it had filled up but no waiting yet. If you need to split your check, even though you don’t pay at the table, the servers ask that we request split checks from them.

You can never have too much coffee. Or cream. More cream than coffee though. I have been an avid Cracker Barrel fan for sometime, however, it has been so long since I’ve been! Eating healthy and cracker barrel don’t typically go together. I do like that they have options, but saying no to biscuits and apple butter is so hard… because it is SO good. Our service at this location was just alright. Sunday mornings at Cracker Barrel are busy, and unfortunately this means I stared at the bottom of my coffee cup more than I’d like to. The food is tasty and will keep you full for hours. That is a definite plus! I will probably keep going to cracker barrel, I just have to get better at resisting the biscuits so I don’t look like a busted can of biscuits…

Mama’s French Toast Breakfast is the meal I have always gotten at a Cracker Barrel since I first went to a Cracker Barrel in 2003. I have never tried anything else on the menu — even when I showed up for dinner around 10PM. I love the French Toast. It is a never-fails-you breakfast. When I want to try a new breakfast place and I can’t decide, I just go to Cracker Barrel. Also, in STL, the St. Charles location IS the absolute best location. My friend who eats at the other location always seems to have horrible service and can’t understand why I love the place so much. I keep telling her… no other place is better than the St. Charles location. If you’re not at that location, you’re gonna have a bad time. Obviously, try not to go around 12 – 1 on the weekends unless you’re prepared to wait. I always forget this.

I loving going to cracker barrel when I get the chance It reminds me of great times and dinners with my grandma when I was much younger. The ambiance, home cooking, and service at the St. Charles location is above and beyond. If you want a really neat and personable service ask for Steve! Hes great guy and takes very good care of you!

Cracker Barrell is always an option when I am craving a nice southern breakfast! I can obviously cook a mean biscuit and my pancakes are pretty amazing, but I like to spoil myself sometime and have someone else cook for me. I enjoy their breakfast food. I can’t say I have ever eaten lunch or dinner here. This particular visit I went around 7pm on a Saturday and of course I wanted breakfast! I love how the CB has breakfast all day everyday! This is the way to steal my heart.

It’s a Cracker Barrel … they are consistent if nothing else. My waitress was a bit odd as I was her only table so she decided it would be fun to just chit chat with me. As I was dining alone it made eating a bit awkward. Eggs were a tad greasier than usual, but still always a meal I look forward to.

Normally this place isn’t too bad for breakfast… dinner? Blech! Four adults and one 5 year old went out to dine. Got seated at a table for 4 with little one shoved at the end and out in the way of traffic. Asked for a better sitting area and was told we’d have to wait… declined and dealt with the cramped area. Our server had all the personality of those watery grits they serve you — bland and bland again. She was rushed, didn’t come back to check on us after someone else brought us our food, and at the end just dropped off the check without asking if we wanted dessert or anything else. Hey kid, trust me… we didn’t want you as much as you didn’t want us! Our dinners tonight consisted of dumplings with find the one piece of chicken, over cooked and very soft green beans and greens, a cheeseburger with a bun that defied the laws of physics(you press it down to fit a 5 year olds mouth and the damn thing sprung back up!) fries that came after the burger, had to ask for one side veggie that didn’t come with the order at first(and lil Miss Sunshine server gave us a look like you want me to go get what???) a pot roast thing that looked like it came prepackaged and was nuked to infinity and beyond in microwave, and fried shrimp(not too bad) and grilled catfish fillet. Not ever EVER ever going here again for anything but breakfast food. And if I get another server with ‘issues’ like this again management will be hearing from me ASAP!!!
