As a «used to be» avid gamer, I have spent a lot of time in and out of video game shops buying and selling games. Today I dropped into Gamestop to do something crazy, I canceled my pre-order of the Day 1 Edition of the Xbox One. I know. Crazy. But the simple fact is that I haven’t really been into gaming at all the last 12 months or so. The only reason I even log into the thing is for Netflix or to download the free games from Xbox Live. So anyway, I did something that I felt for sure was going to cause discontent, cancel a pre-order. The store managers are rated on the number of pre-orders they sell. I’ve known a few store managers over the years and they all take pre-orders very seriously. However, Jeremy was fantastic about the whole deal. He took care of me with a smile, gave me the anticipated lecture about not being able to get the pre-order back(limited units on release) and then proceeded to do what a good salesman does. He talked to me about games for my current console. After trading in 3 games, and taking the $ 100 I had put down on the Xbox One, Jeremy’s professionalism and enthusiasm for customer service paid off, as I ended up spending every bit of the credit on two games, one of which he recommended, and putting in a few dollars more on a pre-order for a game that my wife really really wanted. She doesn’t even play games. She just wants to watch the story as I play! I highly recommend this store. If you have questions, seek Jeremy out, he will win you over with his knowledge and honesty. I’ve bounced around Gamestop locations since moving to St. Chuck, but I think today’s experience has sealed this as my store from here on out!
