History

Established in 2013.

Wild Red is a Detroit original. We launched Wild Red to bring quality wings to the Motor City. If you are anything like us, finding great chicken wings was a struggle, and we endeavored to fix that. After much trial and error we came up with recipes full of flavor and at a great value. Wild Red satisfied our need for wings, and we are confident that it will satisfy yours too.

Good quality, delicious tasting, cooked perfectly wings. I go there once a month to avoid cooking for a night. My boyfriend and I LOVE it. I crave their mac n cheese bites, thinking about them makes my mouth water.

This place is an absolute winner! We were traveling through and my son saw the Hooters sign and requested wings. Dad veto’d the request, and I turned to Unilocal to find a local wing place.
Unilocalers, you did not disappoint! This place is fabulous. Affordable, quick, delicious, and the portions seemed generous. $ 41, family of 4, and we have enough food left over for an entire second meal! My kids even had milkshakes.
Don’t miss the mac n cheese bites. Good gravy, those were delicious! The only thing I would skip next time was the Cole slaw. I like a creamy, dairy based Cole slaw, and this was not that.

I like how it’s a carry out chicken and sandwiches restaurant you don’t see a lot of those. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good a bright red color that made it a good causal feeling. Prices were good, kid friendly to and the employees were great with help for choosing foods, The food was good. I got the boneless honey barbecue chicken was tender melt in your mought. Fires tasted a bit over cook but overall was a really good experience and would recommend it to people.

These are dang good. «Made to order from fresh, not frozen» makes a difference, I guess. Not a huge sauce selection (Original Hot, Spicy BBQ, Honey BBQ), but when your product is this good, you don’t need to confuse your customer base with smoke & mirrors. This place should be an industry standard when it comes to size/​quality of the chicken wings. I had Original Hot & Honey BBQ. No complaints.
Rest of the menu looks good & rates future try-​outs … chicken sandwiches/​wraps, several salad selections and some fish & chips. Sides and kid’s meals close it out.

It’s like chicken crack. We almost need a 12-​step program to stop eating here. FAST, tasty, and the one time they messed up my to go order, they made up for it with some additional sides, which was very nice of them. (I only live 2 blocks away, so not a mammoth deal.). I also like their fish-​n-​chips dinner. Not greasy and generous portions.
Not really an eat-​in kinda place, but there are tables and you can eat there if you want.
As long as they keep up the quality and service (and don’t jack prices), they’ll be a go to for our family.

This is a place to go to for wings. I’m a fan of the honey barbecue. The wings are big fresh and tasty. The service is great and I always get what I ask for. Seems like that should happen everywhere, but it doesn’t. Highly recommended and much better than that other wing place (BWW). The only reason I give 4 stars is because their hot sauce tastes a little different from your typical buffalo sauce, it has its own distinct flavor. Not bad, just not my preference. Also I think they may have changed their blue cheese. It seemed to be less homemade the last time I went there.

Yuuuum! I love me some good chicken! The chicken sammiches are to die for. I drive past three other chicken places just to get here. Folks are pleasant and food is hot amd tasty. Do give it a try… you will be a happy camper.

Very few places offer a gluten free menu that has chicken wings! I was so pleasantly surprised to find out all of their chicken is gluten free. My family is not required to follow that diet like I am and they still love it. Every time I visit this side of the state I am sure to make a quick stop here!

Great place! Chicken was better than the Grosse pointe chicken shack. The sides were ok, portions were small for the price but still very tasty. We tried the honey BBQ sauce and the hot sauce and both were delicious.

Great food, friendly staff, would rate 4 stars if they had some more sauce flavors (but the ones they do have now are great! So maybe it’s a quality over quantity thing?)
Either way, I would recommend it for anyone working in the area who is debating what to get for lunch (I mostly go for the wrap, as it’s user friendly in an office setting lol).

Had a Groupon to use. Glad we did. I wouldn’t characterize the wings as «jumbo», but they sure were good. Definitely recommend this for carry out. Staff was very helpful. Even offering to help me out to the car with my bags.

Outside from the staff being pretty friendly, this place could make me «Meh.» so hard that the internal temperature of the Earth would warm 1⁄100 of a degree causing a long overdue volcanic eruption at America’s backyard gem, Yellowstone National Park, that is so big that in engulfs the Earth in volcanic ash for 2 decades causing a mass extinction.
Seriously. I’m a shit cook and I’ve made better wings at home than this place. Not only was I not impressed, I was flat out disappointed. I tasted that first wing and I almost shed a tear. I wanted this place to be good, but it’s nothing special. There was absolutely nothing wild about those wings. It was a lie.

Being a chicken wing lover having this place so close to home makes it a tad dangerous.
I love their wings, fresh, big, juicy, always sauced evenly.
Wild red uses fresh wings not frozen and each order is made fresh so you aren’t getting assembly line food. Bonus!
My husband and I always get 24 wings and end up fighting over the last one lol!
The reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is because their sauce selection is so limited. I love the ones they have but I’m a gal who likes variety and well 3 – 4 sauces isn’t much variety.
Other than that… awesome wings, great staff, wallet friendly pricing.
