Yum yum and yum… the family loves those classy coney dogs. Small and intimate place. But I wish that they’d extend their hours during the weekday– 8pm is too early to close.

St. Clair Coney Island has been around as long as I can remember. Ever since the new owner Randy took over the place has improved immensely and for the better. I now stop in a couple times a week because I love the large selection and well prepared meals that I always receive. I especially enjoy stopping in for breakfast. The entire staff is super friendly and make you feel welcome and like you are a regular whenever you come, whether it be your first time or 100th time in. Stop in, you’ll enjoy your meal and the small town atmosphere.

Now, this is the only Coney Island restaurant placed just inside the Riverview strip mall. My grandfather and I entered this restaurant for lunch, wondering if this restaurant struck gold. Our drinks(grandfather’s coffee, and my Pepsi) came in under a minute, which is fast service. The way the waitress took our order was very good. The quality of the food is the number one thing we wanted for our lunch experience, and that’s exactly what we wanted to have. My «Coney Mess», a chili-cheese fry dish plus chopped hot dogs is fantastic. My grandfather’s roast beef sandwich was pretty good. As I said, the quality of food was very good, and the waitress was great. I go there on occasion, and I’ll be back to eat here someday.

Food was ok. Though I like Coney islands(EX: Leo’s, National,) this one just didn’t really stand out! Service was no talk, just robot kind-attitude, and my appetizers were alright(breaded mushrooms were hot, though it had hot grease inside each mushroom, the mozzarella sticks were fresh and crispy at least!) so i probably won’t visit that much, but only once a while if I’m In the area

Had a really nice omelette and blue berry pancakes today, staff were as nice as they come. The whole family of three ate for $ 15.

There are coney purists who will diss on St Clair Coney because it uses a lighter, more cumin-heavy sauce. I hear ya’. We all have our preferences and I’ll be the first to admit that it’s not the best coney I’ve had, but having come from St Clair I’m a HUGE fan and return to the Coney every time I’m in town. St Clair Coney Island has a big hometown following because it is delicious. There ya go.

Food is mediocre, service is good, prices are kind of high, but it’s still a nice place overall.
