A Walk In The Park

i just needed a trim on my kitty’s booty to keep her clean and they did an excellent job for a reasonable price. (and then she strutted around the house for a week like she was a pretty pretty princess) Will definitely use them again.

The good, the bad and the ugly… The good… Everyone at AWITP was very friendly and helpful. They gave our dog a good grooming and got us in for an appt. very quickly. Our dog looked good and smelled good afterward. However, the bad and the ugly… about a week after her grooming someone who takes care of our dog sometimes noticed a really bad looking molar. We took our dog to the vet who said we absolutely needed to get a full dental cleaning for that really bad tooth. I do not expect a groomer to take care of the tooth. But they told us they brushed her teeth and never said a word about this very bad looking tooth.

Today was my first day. I was very, very scared but the staff was nice and accommodating to my fears. My dog had a great experience! I will definitely return and recommend to others!

Since moving to the city I had yet to have my 7lb male Morkie (Teacup Yorkshire Terrier and Teacup Maltese) groomed so I went on a Unilocal search for the best locally owned groomers and came across AWITP. I called late after 6pm on a Tuesday night for a grooming appointment and they were able to get me scheduled for the next day, but due to schedule conflicts I had to push it back a day but I am very pleased they were willing to get me in so quickly. I had to bring my dogs vaccination records which they told me about a head of time so I was prepared. It was easy to find right in the CWE right off of Union not terribly far from my home closer to downtown. I was very pleased. They greeted me and my dog very warmly and were very prompt. The groomer came out right away to get my dog and was very good with him. He went in the back and I filled out a new client form and handed over my dog vaccinations sheet. I was told I would be called in 2 – 3 hours and he was done in about 2 hours or less. I picked him up promptly and he was so happy and excited to see me and smelled amazing! He seemed like he had a good time while I was gone. ;) He looks so much better than he did before he went in. No more knots, mats or tangles! It is like night and day. They did an amazing job! I definitely will be back to get him groomed again! The price was not bad either it was $ 47 for the full grooming package. I am definitely very satisfied with my first visit and so is my dog. We will be back! I will also check them out next time I go out of town for over night boarding. Give them a chance! You will be pleased.

I love everything about A Walk In The Park! I have taken my Great Dane here a couple times and definitely won’t go anywhere else now. Great pricing (probably the best I’ve ever seen for a dog her size!), not to mention great results and a fantastically friendly staff. My dane is very afraid of loud noises (the hair dryers, etc.) and doesn’t fit/won’t go into most kennels, which I’m sure is inconvenient for a groomer, but they weren’t bothered by those things at all. Both times I’ve picked up Stormy she seems happy and comfortable (usually she is ready to run out the door after being groomed!). I would recommend this place to anyone– especially if you have a large breed!

I have taken my Yorkie-​Chihuahua, Zeno, to A Walk in the Park’s Tower Grove location a couple of times and now to the Central West End location. The staff is always very friendly, knowledgeable and do a great job cutting Zeno’s hair. I am the type of dog mom that very rarely leaves her pups in the care of anyone and was very nervous about dropping him off the first time, but was set at ease when arriving to pick up an adorable and happy pup. Zeno is also always timid when approaching new people and situations (I can’t blame him – he’s only 6 pounds!) but always leaves happy and looking great!

Have been taking our mini schnauzer here for two years now. They do a great job and take great care of him while we’re at work. We’ve also used them for weekend kenneling and have had no issues. The price is very reasonable and the service is even better.

I was nervous about getting my golden retriever puppy groomed for the first time — too many places had pictures of shaved goldens! Not good! A walk in the Park did a FANTASTIC job and I was so so happy with their grooming. My golden did great and seemed to really love getting groomed and he looked great and so clean. I received lots of compliments on our walks after. I’ll be back for our next grooming!

Our regular groomer didn’t have any available appointments for two weeks so I decided to try a new place. A Walk in the Park was able to groom both of our dogs on a Saturday. The precision cut on the Scottie was one of the best that he is has ever had, both dogs were bathed and groomed in less than two hours and the price was less than most of the other groomers who we have used. As a plus, their fur was exceptionally soft and they smelled clean but not overly fragranced. And the customer service was great! Everyone was very professional and courteous.

We had tried so many places to get Cody groomed. One place used chemicals he was allergic to. One place he cowered every time we took him and was a mess when we picked him up. One place actually caused him to have alopecia and the vet said his hair may all fall out and not grow back. We did what the vet said and it took months, but it did grow back in. We found A Walk in the Park and told them the problems we had gone through with several groomers. They paid attention and made suggestions and they had Meagan take care of him. He went with her willingly, which is really unusual, and he came back looking wonderful and he was happy. He likes to go there and Meagan does a great job. I’m so happy we found our abused, rescued dog a place where he feels comfortable and they care for him. They even know his name before we check in.
Wish they did people, I’d go there.

Found them through a Groupon. Immediately appreciated the care and concern they had for my dog, sometimes I’ve shown up to pick him up after grooming and he’s sitting in a chair next to the owner in the front, rather than locked up in a crate in back.
The groomers are warm and all give a high quality cut, for a great price. They charge less than the big box store groomers and give a better groom and better care for my dog. I’m thoroughly pleased with A Walk in the Park and hope you will be too!

Great place for grooming our dogs. Was dissatisfied with Pets Mart and the hassle of getting in or decent cuts.

A Walk In The Park accommodated my last minute request for a puppy bath and haircut on a Saturday. Denver looked amazing and happy when I picked him up. Thanks for such great professional services!

I brought my cat here based on the reviews of other cat owners and I could not be happier with our experience! It is so hard to find a grooming salon that not only does great work on cats, but also generally likes them. We were able to get in for an 11 o’clock appointment on a Saturday, and I agree with a previous poster– if you have a cat who is easily skittish, it would be best to schedule an earlier or later appointment. My girl is pretty easygoing, but there were a LOT of dogs in the waiting room at 11 AM and I could see how that might be hard for other cats.
They spent a few minutes having me fill out paperwork and took Kiva right back in her crate. Being longhaired and desperately in need of a good cut, she was in pretty bad shape. They did an incredible job of bathing her, shaving her down, and she could not have been cuter when I picked her up! Everyone that I spoke with, from the receptionist to the groomer, to the owner could not have been nicer. We will never go any place else! :)

I’ve had a few bad experiences at other places and I was searching EVERYWHERE for the best place to take my kitty, Chester. Chester is a maine coon (she’s a pretty big cat with a lot of fluff).After reading all of the stellar reviews we decided to try this place out. I have to say that I was really happy! Her cut looked amazing and she seemed a lot calmer when I got there. My only advice would be to try and get an early or later appointment because there will be less puppies which will make for a quieter environment which my cat appreciates. This place is great! Support local!

This is certainly a convenient and cute dog grooming company. Unfortunately they have a drastic turn over in their grooming staff which leaves inconsistent results. I would try a different groomer.

I love to bring my Darla here! The staff is always pleasant and friendly. Its very clean, and located in a cute part of Tower Grove. Darla is always cut beautifully. Casey is awesome!

I have taken my cat here several times and they always do such a good job! I was really nervous the first time I brought her in and they were SO great!
The groomer came out to speak with me before she took my cat back and went through a VERY thorough consultation about what exactly I was looking for. I’m a hair stylist by trade so I REALLY appreciated how thorough the consultation was. The results were perfect and my kitty LOVED her cut. I’ll never take her anywhere else. Highly recommended, especially for cats!

Mark & Chris run this awesome joint along w/​their tower grove location. Anytime I walk in w/​my ckc spaniel, the groomer always knows him by name. My Bucky always comes out of there looking dapper, nails trimmed, furminated, so fresh & so clean.
Love the location, used to live right across the street, have since moved away, but can’t get myself to bring Bucky any place else.
What sealed the deal for me: I’d pick up Bucky after his appt & several times he’d be hanging out on the groomers lap while she was in between clients (not locked up in some cage in the back waiting nervously for me to get back). That’s puppy love!

It is always difficult to find a place to get a cat groomed. Not all groomers are cat people and some don’t like working with them at all. That being said, I was so happy to read reviews and find A Walk in the Park! I have a 10 year old domestic longhair (Angel) and she is very fluffy. I have taken Angel to other grooming places before and the experience has always been just okay in my opinion. AWITP was a wonderful experience for me as an owner.
I called to make an appointment on a Tuesday and they informed me that Angel could get in that Friday. I was shocked because usually I have had to wait a week or longer. I scheduled the appointment and after talking with the groomer I actually felt good about this place. She seemed friendly and caring. I dropped Angel off this morning around 7:30. When I arrived I was greeted by the groomer and she asked me to fill out some paperwork. I also had to provide the rabies vaccination record to her for their files. Thankfully she informed me of this earlier in the week so I was prepared! After filling out the paperwork and giving all of the information needed it was time for me to say goodbye to my little fur-​ball. She would be ready soon for pick-​up.
I was expecting a phone call in the afternoon, but the groomer called around 9 to let me know she was all ready to go. That was fast!
Angel has a nice new haircut (a complete shave) and she smells nice too! Thank you A Walk In the Park. I know we’ll be back again soon! Overall, the customer service was great and they really took good care of Angel. The total cost for cat grooming is around $ 65, but she’s worth it.

My oldest pup, Buddy is about 12 – 13 years old. He is going a bit blind, and his hearing isn’t the best. He gets a little snippy if you touch him the wrong way or sneak up on him. We took him here after a bad experience at Petsmart, not completely their fault. We gave AWITP a chance, and our old man has never looked better! We were nervous that he would bite them, but they said they had no problems, just had to cut him a little slower than usual. You can tell they really took their time and the price isn’t much different then Petsmart so that’s awesome. Thanks again y’all!

Consistent results and my dog loves them! They even put bows and neck ties on your groomed pup.
We will be returning again and again, and I refer this grooming service to anyone who inquires about my Olive. She looks great and they really treat her like their own. Reasonable prices too!

What’s not to like?
First, the people here are always happy and obviously love dogs. It’s the only place we can take our chihuahua without her freaking out. I believe this is because of the people, they really love dogs.
Second, the service is excellent and reasonably priced. We use them for grooming 2 dogs (a big and a small) and daycare occasionally. Never had a problem with any service.
Third, the space is clean and well maintained — just how your dog will be!

I’ve had my (all white) Miniature American Eskimo, Kumo, for about three months now. I’ve given him a couple baths myself, but with his nails starting to get long, and wiry little hairs coming out of his ears, and not being able to successfully brush his teeth, I decided it was time to turn him over to the professionals.
You know how you don’t realize how poor your vision is until you put on glasses for the first time? I didn’t realize how clean my dog could get until I took him to A Walk in the Park!
He was positively glistening when he came out. Much better than anything I’ve ever tried to do. He had a neon green bandana to accentuate that bright whiteness and the matching beaming Eskie smile.
Jill did nails, cleaned/​tweezed ears, brushed teeth, bathed, hand-​fluffed and blow-​dried, and trimmed fur at the ears and around his private puppy bits, and it cost $ 37 before tip. It’s normally $ 43, but there is a (one time) new customer $ 5 discount (if you ask about it). That seemed like a really reasonable price, and it took less than an hour (he was her only pup to groom at the time, but I still appreciated the promptness!), but they were definitely thorough.
Kumo looked really sharp. It doesn’t get much better, especially since it’s only a couple blocks away and we can walk there. I’m pleased. He was pleased. He had the cutest little puppy swagger as we walked home. He appeared to be saying, «Mom…I look GOOD.»
They’ve made a regular out of us.

I love A Walk in the Park and more importantly, my puppy LOVES this wonderful place! Chris and Mark recently took care of my Shetland Sheepdog for four nights. From the moment we walked inside we were greeted by a welcoming atmosphere and warm people. My dog is friendly with everyone, but he can be reserved with new people. The way Chris said hello to him was very sweet and our dog warmed up to him immediately – I knew he would be in good hands from the get go. After I got back from vacation, our puppy was tired and his claws had a little bit of dirt in them – a good sign that he was well taken care of and played with during the time I was gone =)! I was happy that he could get some energy out and run free with his new doggie friends in Chris & Mark’s fenced in yard.
I feel more comfortable that the care is more individualized. They only watch a couple of dogs at a time to give each dog enough TLC. They don’t put them in a crate unless you want them to. I liked that they let our dog sleep on the bed, just like I do at home. The cost is a little more, $ 32.00 per night for dogs 30lbs and less, but that extra TLC and attention is worth it to me! I will definitely be back again for the dog sitting and grooming services!
