Had dinner on Jan 17, 2014. Was not worth the cost. –Ordered 2 glasses of wine, a Merlot and a Shiraz. Received a red and a white. Had to tell them that a Shiraz is a red wine. –Wine was servered in a warm glass, must have been directly out of the dishwasher. Drinking wine from a warm glass??? –The ceaser salad was supposed to be made with romaine lettuce, it was made with iceberg. –Lobster bisque tasted like it had come from a can. –The salmon and the Black ‘N’ Blue starter was very good. –Then the prices on the bill did not match the prices on the menu. Had to have it redone. Interesting that the bill did agree with the prices on the website. Save yourself the trouble and go to one of the nice restaurants in Clayton.

I ate here a few times in the summer but nothing impressive. Average in all aspects, but convenient when staying at the Sheraton and not wanting to leave the building.

Out of side, out of mind. I had NO idea there was a restaurant inside the Sheraton. When you enter the hotel through the main entrance, Alexander’s will be straight back past the lobby lounge to the left. The restaurant has a very intimate feel, partly because there are very few people there. With so many other options in Clayton, I don’t know that I would eat at Alexander’s again… unless I was staying at the hotel alone or wanted a quite intimate space to get together with coworkers after work. They have a soup and salad lunch buffet… with cookies, but after seeing sweet potato fries on the main menu I had to go with a sandwich. I had the 4 Cheese Grill with Sweet Potato Fries, it was the closest thing they had to a panini or melt. It was a lot of food too, I am just now finishing my lunch for dinner. However, the sweet potato fries didn’t make good leftovers, they lost that crispness. They were good at lunchtime, no ketchup necessary. The sandwich was tons of melted cheese… and I mean LOTS, a slice of tomato and strips of bacon. Pretty tasty and filling. If you like cheese, this«big kid» grilled cheese is great. The service was wonderful, but I was with someone important to the hotel so they were sure to keep things extra tip top on the service… but I think they’d be attentive even if I wasn’t, because like I mention, there weren’t many full tables to attend to.

This is the restaurant in the Sheraton Clayton Plaza. If you’re staying here and have nothing else to eat, it’s okay. But definitely not my first choice of food in the Clayton area. There’s something about their dishes — it sounds good on the menu, but something is always lacking when it comes out. Can’t really put my finger on it, but this place just isn’t that good. There’s a lot of other restaurants in the Clayton area that are much better!
