At Bali Cargo Company we import our handmade items from the island of Bali in indonesia. We are a fair trade store. We work with and buy directly from over 75 families. Because the Balinese live communally, mom, dad, grandparents, siblings all have a hand at running the business. Many of our products are produced using recycled or reclaimed materials.
History
Established in 2012.
The concept for Bali Cargo came during a surfing trip to the island by several friends from Jacksonville Florida. While on the island they fell in love with the country, the people and all the beautiful hand made items created by the local artisans and craftsmen. This was the inspiration for Bali Cargo Company.
Artistically, Bali is a melting pot of cultures and traditions. The Balinese have a natural capacity for absorbing different cultural elements and blending them with their own to produce dynamic new hybrids. Today the Artists still carry on the tradition of living and working together in Artist villages. At Bali Cargo Company we bring to you the culmination of years of Artistry — young new artists as well as the traditional arts handed down from generation to generation.
