The Mission of Deaf Empowerment Awareness Foundation, Inc. is to dedicate themselves to reducing discrimination, bias and oppression towards deaf and hard of hearing people by providing them with tools and methods that allow them to empower themselves and lead more productive lives, both personally and professionally.

We offer interpreting services, advocacy support, sign language classes, support groups, tutoring sessions for interpreters, referral services and several other empowering activities.

History

Established in 2008.

The inspiration of this organization was created as a result of a group of deaf people that witnessed multiple violations of a several ADA rights of deaf and hard of hearing people in St. Louis. We desire to increase awareness and provide education to the mainstream population so they better understand the needs of this special group of people.

Business Owner

Eric is the executive Director of DEAF Inc. He reports to a board of directors which consisted of deaf, hard of hearing and hearing people who have vested interest in seeing the lives of the deaf and hard of hearing people improve.
