terrible and completely incompetent. customer service reps and even managers provide completely conflicting information each call — it’s as if they pulled these people off the street and stuck them on the phone after a 5 minute orientation. as a result of the inaccurate information they provided me I will now not be able to get my prescription in time before leaving on vacation– after conversations with five reps. I’ll pay more and go through my local pharmacy rather than deal with them again.

I have to use Express Scripts because my insurance company offers no alternative. If there were any form of competition, I would definitely pick another provider. As I type this, I won’t get an important prescription filled for about five days because they can’t get my correct address on a package they sent me. Their automated phone system needs to be reprogrammed; it never recognizes my voice or my phone keypresses when it prompts me for my zip code. Unlike my local pharmacy, Express Scripts is incapable of contacting my prescribing physician when they have an issue with one of my prescriptions. If you have a choice, avoid them. Yes, they offer lower prices than a brick-​and-​mortar pharmacy, but is that worth the risk to your health?

My daughter takes Vyvanse for ADHD, the day after she arrived home from school for winter break she went to see her Dr. and got a written prescription for a 90 day supply for mail-​in. She mailed it the next day, ¹²⁄₁₇ and Express Scripts received it on ¹²⁄₂₂. It’s 1÷6÷16 and still no medication!!! During the first week, the estimated shipping date changed daily. Now when I check the status on-​line, it just says «prescription request has been received» and there’s no estimated shipping date. I started calling Express-​Scripts on 12÷30÷15 and have called nearly everyday since trying to find out what is causing the delay and when we can expect to receive the medication. I was told that the prescription, which is for a C-​II drug was sent to the wrong Dispensing Facility, which caused the delay. The CSR told me I could have the shipping expedited for an additional $ 21. I asked why I should have to pay anything additional when the delay was their fault. No reasonable response was received. At that point I even got my daughter’s provider’s office involved and a day later, my husband’s employer called Express-​Scripts too. Neither one could get any additional assistance.
Since then every morning I make my daily call, I get transferred to a supervisor, who apologizes and claims to have assigned an «emergency case #» to the prescription and will have the shipping expedited. On 12÷31÷15, a CSR named Gail told me that the prescription would be shipped out on ½/​16 and would be expedited. It was never shipped and it’s now 1÷6÷16. During my most recent daily phone call, the supervisor, Laurie, told me it was scheduled to ship on 1÷7÷16 and that the most recent delay was due to «the process of checking that the childproof cap was sufficient for shipping» WFT??? My daughter’s been without medication for 10 days and leaves to go back to school in 2 days, without her medication. Once I do receive the prescription, I’ll just have to turn around a ship it to my daughter at school at my expense.
It’s 1÷6÷16, Express Scripts has had the written prescription for over 2 weeks. They claim to have processed it in 2015 and by doing so would cost us about $ 190 out-​of-​pocket, If they delay much longer, the C-​II prescription will expire and I’ll need to get a new one from my daughter’s doctor and go through this whole process again… only now our 2016 deductible will apply and our out-​of-​pocket cost will be nearly $ 700.
Express-​Scripts is an awful company and their employees are a bunch of inept idiot! It seems impossible to me that this company is still in business. After I get the prescription that I’m waiting on, I plan to file a formal complaint against them and also through the State of Missouri’s Insurance Commission. Ultimately, the only thing that will make a difference is if people will stop using them and put them out of business.

We are forced to use Medco by our employer (who provides insurance). They are the worst. Bad web site, bad customer service, bad at communicating. They’ll leave numerous recorded messages when something is being processed (information I don’t need or soon will know) but never call when there’s an issue with an order. For example they can’t get the drug you’ve been prescribed. This year they changed rules mid-​year but didn’t inform the patients. So I found out when I submitted a claim the rules had changed and now I have to play catch up. Previously our company used Cigna Tel Drug. They were much more consumer friendly and efficient. When I retire and get to choose my own pharmacy benefits, I will definitely NOT select Medco… even if I have to pay more.

Express Scripts called me as they offer services through my insurance carrier. I was mistrusting at first, and then as I was on the phone I looked up the Unilocal reviews– I think it’s the worst-​reviewed company I’ve ever seen! But I decided to give it a shot anyway because it sounded convenient. I made my order. Nine days later a 3 month supply showed up in the mail for 50% less than my local pharmacy. Great, easy service.

My personal experience with this company has been horrible.

When I switched to a medicare advantage plan, I visited my doctors offices and requested the staff switch my meds to express scripts. I registered on their web site. I ordered one of every thing. All arrived within 10 days from shipping. Billing is handled by E check. Only once did they ship a med before I ordered it, and it was a new one. They did call to make sure the money was in the account until I told them that the call wasn’t necessary.
I understand it is against medicare rules to ship a med before it is ordered. Never sign up for auto refill. Instead, take charge of your medications. Keep track and give them extra time to ship. My shipments have been arriving by USPS in 4 or 5 days in Novato, CA.
The web page is very good. My meds are class 3, so I get to experience the famous doughnut hole. Escripts has kept excellent, understandable records of my entry into and exit from the medicare doughnut hole.
The one time I did try to call them, I failed. But calling my HMO answered my question.

I hate dealing with this company and I hate how they force you to fill prescriptions by mail order and send a threatening letter every time you try to fill at your choice of pharmacy. Then they have a clueless rep call you about every prescription you fill and that rep cannot even articulate what the purpose of the call is.

I am shocked that a corporation would use a company like this. Express Scripts is the worst mail pharmacy I have ever dealt with. They play with people’s lives and don’t care. Since when can they overrule your doctor? Shame on corporations for doing this to their workers.

This company is HORRIBLE! They held up my anti seizure medication for a 25.00 copay balance they «claim» they billed me for but all I received was the notification letter 5 days ago they were putting my account on hold?! What the heck? I called their customer service this morning and the extremely RUDE representative kept cutting me off — just the worst customwr service ever! We NEVER had these problems when it was Medco. Despicable and a good example of what is wrong with corporate America!

I am a pharmacist. My first internship over 20 years ago was in a mail order pharmacy. As a student we had to write a paper on a controversial subject in pharmacy so I chose mail order. I wrote how unprofessional and depressing it was to work in a warehouse and why would somebody go through 6 years of a rigorous college education to work in mail order. The dean of pharmacy called me into his office, talked me out of quitting pharmacy school, and dropped the internship with the mail order pharmacy.
Express scripts is the absolute worst. It took 5 weeks, and many calls to them and my doctor to get my medication. I even had things filled at CVS to tide me over. When the pharmacist told me to call my doctor (like I already did 3 previous times!) I lectured him on how to do his job. UN-F**King-believable. There is no excuse for this type of screwup. Come on Express Scripts… these are people’s medications that keep them alive!!! If you kill off too many of you patients due to your laziness, that’s a pretty bad business model!!!

This ridiculous company kept making ‘worry free refill’ requests on my daily medications without my approval so they sent me into a loop of issues with my insurance company that could never be resolved. They even sent out little fairy scripts to me that my physician never prescribed to cover their asses. I am humiliated and frustrated by their business practices that made me speak for hours to inept people that were robots who transferred me to a million other departments. I will never get back these horribly frustrating hours back from my life over dealing with these uncaring morons.

My doctor recently recommended this place to get my medications through the mail. I called them. This was the EXACT conversation: She spoke is an angry monotone voice throughout.
Representative: «Express Meds»
Me: Hello, my doctor told me to call you to set up an account so that I can purchase my medications from you.
Representative: You reached the wrong department.
Me: Oh, can you please connect me to the correct department?
Representative: You reached the wrong department,
Me: Can you either connect me to the correct department or give me a number for the correct department?
Representative: You reached the wrong department.
Me: Are you serious? You told me that three times?
Representative hung up on me.
I neglected to check Unilocal of the Better Business Bureau before calling this place. I should have. I am VERY thankful that my very first conversation with them went badly because I then checked a BUNCH of these mail order places and found Optum RX and they are GREAT!
Trust me. God’s honest truth. Do NOT go here.

I understand that some places go through a downhill in regards to service & then go up with improvement. Not so in this case. Last year, I had no problems in getting my meds. I was happy that they sent me my refills about a month before I ran out. But & a huge but I haven’t been happy with Express Scripts lately. The nightmare began several months ago. I started to get my refills almost close to the day of my last pill. I was infuriated this month when I got a letter in the mail denying my refill due to being refilled too early. My last pill would be tomorrow. I previously called the company, & a refreshingly nice customer service representative assured me that the refill would go out now. That was about 2 weeks ago. I had no choice but to contact my doctor, who had to give them a new script in order to get my meds. Like previous reviewers stated, I decided to do mail order since it was cheaper & more convenient for me. There must be a glitch in their computer in determining when the refills go out. I am still using them for the sake of saving money & for the sanity (I don’t like being surrounded by angry customers at the pharmacy). But, I am still not a happy camper.

I have been underserved by Express for many years through my health insurance from State Teachers Retirement Ohio. I freely admit that it was a very bad choice since, for $ 5 more or less, I could get my Rx’s filled locally.
Express most recently sent an Rx to me which I did not receive. Since I have a UPS account I was notified but did not find it at my address. I filed a report with UPS and with Express. The latter told me I had to wait 11 days before a replacement was sent. I waited then called. What they failed to disclose was they would double bill me for the one I would eventually receive. I filed with BBB St. Louis and Express steadfastly stuck to having sent the first one and billed me because UPS informed them it was delivered, a notice I also received with no package. So I called Express some 7 weeks later and an intelligent human responded she would submit a refund request. That request was denied as became apparent when I checked my account a week later.
FINALLY. because of BBB and the extensive docs. I provided, Express stated that because their kindly human rep. made an error in submitting a refund request, they would refund the money.
This marks the end of this sad story as well as any direct relationship with Express. Definitely not recommended under any but the most dire circumstances.

Words can’t describe how bad this company is. I have to call them on a regular basis to find out why prescriptions haven’t been shipped to my house. Today I was on the phone with them for over an hour. This month’s excuse was that it had been lost in the mail. Thank God they aren’t in charge of getting important things to people like their medications!

This medication provider is the WORST system in place that I can think of. They are unorganized and several times when my daughter needed Asthma medicine, they didn’t mail it. THEY force you into some DUMB WORRY FREE home delivery system, that does not work. If you are currently in a position to choose Express Scripts over another provider for medication, put on some SKATES and GET THE HELL away. I am currently looking for another way to provide prescription insurance for my family. Even if it means I have to change jobs!!! My first question after my salary in the interview will be what medical insurance do you offer?
The thing that really is unfortunate is that people on welfare have better coverage than express scripts offer. THERE IS NOTHING EXPRESS about it. All the customer service people could say to me was I’m sorry. I believe that if enough people voice their opinions, then we can put them out of business. I’m the squeaky wheel on this.
Bottom line there is nothing good I can say about Express scripts. When you would do something to hurt a child in my opinion what rating could I give but LESS than 1 star. DONT DO IT if you have the option, I heard horror stories now I can write my own. The real truth is that the employers that offer Express Scripts are CHEAP and want to inconvenience people that are paying good money for insurance coverage SMH!!!

–doc casually entered orders, 3 month supplies.
2 meds wrong dosage, Express never contacted me before shipping
*got meds in one week.
–had to call to stop «automatic» shipments.
the good: most meds cheaper, one higher.
the bad: monthly robocalls telling me a med is due for reorder
–when i order, rebocall acknowledges, another robocall with ship date, another with
arrival date…

This is the second telephone pharmacy I have worked with that is associated with insurance. The first was Optim RX which was a bit of a hassle calling in and waiting, but the process was actually pretty turnkey and extremely efficient. Then I switched jobs and had to deal with Express Scripts. Every time I called to ask a question, I would get a different answer from the representative. After making follow-​up calls to confirm what they told me or to remedy the situation, I found out that the original person I spoke to was misinformed or incorrect.

They will not accept co-​pay cards, secondary insurance, and multiple methods of payment, despite being told by some of the representatives that they would if I followed up with my benefit planner through my company or with the main insurance provider.
Today was the last straw when I called and spoke to the representative and gave them my two methods of payment for the balance. The representative repeated the information back to me and we concluded the transaction. Without my authorization, they charged my personal card for the full balance. After escalating it to the first supervisor, I was told only a supervisor was allowed to process a secondary payment. Why wouldn’t the representative I originally contacted know this? And how is it right to charge a credit card for an amount that was not authorized?
After escalating it again, I spoke with Tamara who indicated they do not accept the secondary credit option I provided — even though every pharmacy readily accepts it! Finally, after another 20 minute conversation and being put on hold multiple times, I was informed I did not even need to use them to refill my prescription and I could use a local pharmacy. This was after I was told multiple times that I was not allowed to use the local pharmacy or I would be charged more or not covered.
They have incredibly poor training as their employees do not really know the answers to basic questions. Additionally, «their system» is obviously not set up to work in a comparable manner to similar companies. I am hopeful I will not have to call them again. I am also following up with my employee to make a formal complaint.

Its once more into the breech with these dear turds!!! My insurance once again put me in the line of fire with these dingle-​berries. I can’t for the life of me grasp why they are even still in business. I called to figure out why my Rx is late. It was supposed to be shipped on the 16^th and take 5 days. They didn’t know. Then the clerk happened to mention that I was going to be getting my 1 months supply very soon, and that I shouldn’t worry because sometimes mail is delayed. Uh… what? I’m supposed to get a 3 months supply for the price of 1. That’s the whole point. I ask how much they’ve charged me, and he says $ 99.95. WHAT THE FUCK???
Its supposed to be that much for the 3 months!!! Not again with these bastards!!! He tried to blame it on my doctor. Fail. She’s been writing my Rx the same way for 5 years. I asked him to cancel my service. He said NO!!! LOL!!! ONLY THE INSURANCE PROVIDER CAN CANCEL YOUR SERVICE!!! I ask him, «Why on earth would I pay full price with you jerks and be screwed around while having to wait, when I can pay full price at my local CVS and get it right in my hand and not have to wait?»
«What besides a headache has your company provided for me for the entire year that I’ve been a customer?» «We know what we’re doing ma’am. Talk to your doctor.» No. I’m talking to my credit card company, to tell them to block you fucks. I’ve had it. I truly have never hated a company this much. When you screw with someones meds, you screw with their lives, and its quality. Corporate vampires. I hope they are exposed and go out of business.
