Specialties
Fort Taco a traditional Mexican restaurant in St. Louis serving soft shell tacos and enchiladas. We do not have a microwave or freezer on site. The food is made during the ordering process.
Although I feel we made a lot of mistakes our first week of business we have made changes to increase the quality of the food.
The taco is a crispy shell. Filled with real beef and fresh veggie toppings. These are not typical tacos found in St. Louis so try one.
The enchilada sauce is made with chili-ancho. Tortillas made from scratch in the morning served with potatoes, cheese, and peas in the center. This is another item not found in St. Louis.
Our salsas are made in the morning. It is made from fresh tomatoes, peppers and onions. The labor in the morning to get the freshness is worth our time. Please remember none of the salsa ingredients come from cans or come in packets. That is why we don’t give it away but charge less than a store per once.
We plan to add to the menu. The future holds tamales, sweet tamales, and chicken tacos.
This is a new concept on delivering Mexican food. We cut out the cheap filler ingredients like chips, canned salsa, rice, and beans. We fill you with our core items.
Come give us a try!
History
Established in 2014.
The business is built after the food that is found in southeast Iowa. The Mexican population traveled along the Santa Fe railroad through KC to Chicago. In the middle there was a station in southeast Iowa where many settled in the early 1900s.
The food made by the families that settled are being delivered to St. Louis by the form of Fort Taco. We are a young business and are focused on quality. We are changing daily and have many plans to add to the menu and expand.
