FroYo Frozen Yogurt

FroYo’s proximity to the Washington University campus makes it an epicentre of for college students in need of a sweer treat. Even better, Froyo allows students to pay by using bear bucks (campus card) and offers student discounts.
The Delmar Loop joint offers plenty of flavors and toppings as well as sweet sauces. I love that they offer mochi. I would shy away from fruit toppings as it doesn’t seem too fresh and stick to candy/​syrups. Although the variety of flavors is good and includes vegan/​dairy-​free options, I’d love to see the addition of soy frozen yogurt options as are made available at some of FroYo’s competitors.
The consistency of the yogurt is often watery and mushy. On multiple occasions my Froyo has quickly turned to slush within 5 – 10 minutes of purchasing. Eat it quickly!
FroYo will surely satisfy a sweet tooth in a pinch.

I’m glad to say this place finally got better. The yogurts used to be very icy and unpleasant, probably because they tried to make everything low-​fat (???). Now they’re good, some weird flavors but they also have crowdpleasers like cake batter and vanilla. Good variety of sauces, toppings are okay.
What I don’t get is why each froyo restaurant feels the need to copy each other. What about some really unique flavors or toppings? 3 stars for being like everybody else on the block, and not going above and beyond.

Not the best quality frozen yogurt. I have had better at places like Yagööt and Orange Leaf. I would not recommend. Tasted the pomegranate and strawbery banana, doesn’t taste natural and has an icy texture.

We just visited Froyo on the loop tonight and won’t be back soon. The frozen yogurt was okay, but there weren’t many toppings.
Our bigger problem was the staff. As we sat down to eat, one staff member walked up and said «we’re closing in four minutes», clearly not wanting us to stick around despite the fifteen other customers still there. Also, she said this around 9:55 and the sign on the door clearly states they’re open until 10:30. Regardless, the staff kicked us all out promptly at 10.

I enjoy the frozen yogurt treat, my wife is crazy about FroYo she drives about 30 miles round trip just to get this yogurt and we always, without fail eat it up before we get home.
I will tell you the facilities are always clean, and the yogurt delicious.
But understand flavors you get at one you may not get at another one, you will get the same basic staple flavors vanilla,
…but some facilities will have a flavor or two you want find at the other like the cheese cake flavor or caramel.
Nonetheless this is good desert you should be happy with it. The biggest thing is they let you make it the way you want too, you start with getting the amount you want in your bowl, then you have a lot of toppings you can add on from there. Do keep in mind you pay for your sweet treat by weight, so the more you get on or in the bowl the more it costs.

I like the customizability of this place — you get to pick whatever flavors of fro-​yo you want, toppings, and sauces! They have a decent selection of flavors but every time I come I feel like I always end up getting the same three — pomegranate, mango, and chocolate (yes, they’ve got cuter names, but I can’t remember them). The toppings vary greatly — anywhere from healthy fruity options to sinfully scrumptious chocolates too! I know a lot of reviewers have said that the fruit didn’t look fresh — I agree, a couple of the fruit options looked like the antithesis of appealing so I avoided them. I ended up settling for some raspberries and a few white chocolate chips. The fro-​yo was good, but a little more tart than I am used to.
A couple of complaints I have about this pace are the fruit toppings (which I already mentioned) and the difficulty to get a sample. They don’t have any spoons out so, it’s tough to know what you’ll like. Also, just a heads up on pricing — they only have humongous bowls which just make you want to out more fro-​yo in your bowl than you want. Plus, when I was there, one of my friends accidentally got charged for the weight of her spoon as well! By the time she realized it, it was a little late to get it adjusted. Solid three stars, but I do see some room for improvement.

FROYO!!! After eating pizza pie from Pi the boyfriend and I decided to try Froyo out.
This was our first time having Froyo, I don’t even know if we have any in Chicago but if we don’t we need to!
I don’t remember everything I put into my Froyo cup but w/​e it was was good! I liked the concept of you making your frozen treat specifically to your liking and how they had like 5 different cup choices, yummy flavors, fresh fruit, & tasty dessert toppings.
I mean low fat frozen yogurt that doesn’t taste like um low fat frozen yogurt, made to your specific liking at a decent price is good to me.

Ok, I’m an idiot. But seriously, the Chocolate «La Rouge» flavor they have here might be one of the best sweet things I’ve ever tasted. It’s rich and flavorful, but then has this amazing tartness that makes my mouth feel awesome. Like a million tiny angels massaging my taste buds. I honestly forgot where I was during the few minutes I was eating this. I was transported to another, much more delicious dimension. I’ve enjoyed a lot of fro-​yo in my time, but this was next-​level.
You must get to the Loop ASAFP to try this flavor while it is still available. It is so good that it compelled me to write a lame Fresh Prince rap parody. I never thought I’d be THAT guy…

In the heat of summer, it’s hard to resist the pull of the frozen dessert. Thankfully, FroYo offers the chance to indulge that urge while making sure you’ll still fit into your favorite bikini.
Though most if not all of the fro-​yo flavors are fat free or low fat, there are some that taste perfectly sinful. Try asking at the front for a sample cup if you’re debating between flavors, but if it’s crowded they tend to «run out» of cups. Cheesecake and turtle fro-​yo taste remarkably rich for all their supposed healthiness. There are also several sorbet options for the fruit lovers.
Speaking of fruit, the topping bar presents a rich selection of chopped fruit for your fro-​yo, and in my experience it’s always fresh. Be careful though — you’re paying by weight here, and the fruit is easily the heaviest topping option available. For a lighter sweetener, try scooping on some cereal.
For those seeking a more indulgent dessert, rest assured there are plenty of options at the topping bar. Right next to the fruit and cereal you can find crushed candy, cookie dough, brownie bites, a creative array of syrups, and whipped cream. I’ve found the cookie dough has an odd artificial flavor, but the other toppings are delicious.
I love that you pay by weight here, so you only pay for what you get. They did recently up the price per ounce by a few cents, so keep that in mind if you’re watching your wallet and your waistline. You can still get a good amount of fro-​yo for just a few bucks if you’re careful.
Seating inside is pretty limited and can fill up quickly during a hot day.

Just a disclaimer, I used to work at a frozen yogurt place so I’m pretty picky with them.
Anyways this place is very hip and a nice place to hang out in but unfortunately the yogurt wasn’t that good, at all. They had multiple options, so I got cookies and cream, cheesecake, vanilla and chocolate chip cookie dough. These were all mixed together in a cup which cost me about $ 5.00, and I also added some toppings. The only tasty one for me was vanilla, which shouldn’t be messed up anyways. Toppings were good, but honestly some of them didn’t look that fresh so I definitely avoided the fruits.
I probably won’t be back, there are a bunch of other options which should be better.

I really like this chain, but this location was dirty and lacked enough seating for the amount of traffic they generate. Have enough chairs for your customers guys, its kinda important. The bathrooms were atrocious. Also, parking is a nightmare. I’ll drive an extra 2 or 3 miles to find a place that has seating, parking, and is clean. While the yogurt is always good, this place was disappointing. I remember having lower standards when I was a starving student too, but taking my kids here was just too scary. Bummer.

Frozen Yogurt stores are popping up all over. Places like FroYo, Orange Leaf and Red Mango all offer the same type of selection. Walk in, pickup a cup and serve yourself. Selection typically ranges from 8 – 12 types of frozen yogurt, some of which can be swirled together. Next comes your toppings, anything from fresh fruit to candy. Overall the concept is great and offers a great desert which can be somewhat healthy, depending on how you decide to top your creation. Prices are somewhat difficult to call since they charge by the ounce, which isn’t the easiest thing to calculate when loading up your yogurt with toppings however prices always seem fair for the amount that you get. I have to admit that out of all the places, I really seem to like FroYo the best, there is something about the yogurt there that just seems better than the rest.

Can you believe how beautiful the weather was yesterday? With a deep desire to get out and enjoy it, my hubby and I decided to walk the Loop and do a little shopping. We were without The Child for a few hours (a coworker called and asked us if she and her daughter could babysit… how awesome is that??) and were looking to enjoy our two hour Staycation. Happily wondering from store to store we came upon FroYo. «I love this place!», pronounced The Hubby. When he couldn’t believe I hadn’t been to one before we decided that had to be corrected immediately. Wow, is all I have to to say.
Ok…I have more to say. There were lots of fantastic looking flavors… Cake Batter, Red Velvet, Cookie Dough. Me being a Celiac, I inquired about the ingredients in the various yogurts. The lady behind the counter promptly handed me a booklet giving ingredients and allergens in every flavor they carried! Yay! As I suspected, the above flavors indeed had gluten. But there were plenty of other options. After having a few tastings I decided on an incredibly flavorful Pomegranate Raspberry Sorbet, which I then sprinkled with some chocolate chips. Yum!

Ah, I wish I could do a 3.5 star review, but I really have no significant complaints about FroYo, so I rounded up. There are so many of these places now – which is awesome– but there’s nothing about FroYo that isn’t like any other build-​your-​own froyo joint popping up in any other neighborhood.
The décor was fun, it reminded me of Orange Leaf, down to the glass micro-​tile surrounding the fonts of tart goodness. I got all cake-​themed yogurts with berries and chocolate chips on top (red velvet, cheesecake, birthday cake). It was perfect after walking around in the park all day.
Seating inside was a bit limited. Looked like there was more space available to put some tables for dining-​in.

After my first experience with International Supper Clubbing down the street at Gokul last week, 6 of us decided to mosey on down to the FroYo. Since I had heard good things, I was happy to try it. Good decision.
Since they didn’t have any little sampler spoons, pulled the handle so that the yogurts that sounded appealing could run onto the side of my cup so that a little came over the top so that I could sample that way… 6 samples later, I decided to do half cake batter and half chocolate.
On to the topping counter… I had to get some maraschino cherry action going. A little coconut, a few cookie dough balls and a little butterfinger… now THAT is an awesome dessert.
I’ve heard that people have had some complaints about the price, but mine was really reasonable… $ 3 I think for a pretty generous portion.
I liked the cake batter best, and I liked the cookie dough. Everything is better with a cherry… or 4 (in my humble opinion), so that’ll come along again next time. Maybe a little bit of cookie next time.

I finally went back and tried the yogurt again. This time I stuck to the original since I wasn’t allowed to try too many flavors (I still don’t like them for that!)
That being said, I did enjoy the original. It tasted similar to Pinkberry which made me happy.
I love that they go by weighted amounts instead of sizes, which works out best for us who can’t eat a lot anyway, or shouldn’t have to pay for a large size when you only want a little.
Overall, I would go here if I was seriously craving frozen yogurt. I haven’t been to any others in Saint Louis but for now, this satisfies the sweet and tart tooth just fine.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet jaysus! I confess, I strayed from my beloved tart the other day because I was wooed by an array of flashy, slutty flavors at FroYo. I sampled: red velvet cake, cookies & cream, cake batter, and cheese cake. Slatterns! What the hell was I thinking? At one point, I think they all pretty started tasting the same.
There’s also a lot of topping choices (but no *cherries*). The asking price seems typical and I know plenty of people prefer sweet stuff, so if you’re one of those people, you will love the slutty offerings from FroYo!

Kind strange having a staff member pull your samples for you at the self-​serve stations, but I guess due to it’s location and the high walking traffic in the loop it’s the only way to keep things under control so people don’t go sample happy.
Today’s flavors were okay… nothing outa the ordinary. I tried the green tea… sadly it had a strange bitter sweet after taste. Pomagrante sorbet, not bad but doesn’t mesh well with the chocolately topping I was eyeing up. I ended up with cookies ‘n cream, which was VERY sweet and had a very artificialness to the flavor… didn’t quite taste like cookies and cream. Maybe it just wasn’t my day to eat FroYo, I wasn’t obsessed with this experience.

Fro YO YO YO (I stole that from Joi, the Kansas City CME, when we had an office hours at Red Mango). I’ve been wanting to eat a lunch or dinner at a frozen yogurt place forever, and finally did it. This time it’s much more cool, cause it’s on the Delmar Loop, one of the 10 most famous streets in the world.
I parked at the lot, and broke 4 parking meters with Kansas City quarters, so if you’re planning on going to the Loop, check out the free parking I made! I went across and down the street to Froyo, on the advice of people on the St. Louis Unilocal.
Wow, they have mango, chocolate, lemon, red velvet cake, strawberry, vanilla, and more flavors. It was a perplexing choice. There’s toppings-​fresh blue berries, kiwi, blackberries, strawberries. Marchino cherries, nuts, coconut, chocolate chips, granola, and no one at the cash register… They charge per ounce, and mine only came to 3.40. The cashier came out of the back room when I was ready to pay.
I got red velvet cake frozen yogurt, and vanilla, (which was kind of hard to find. they are labeled, but it’s not that clear.) I got fresh fruit, and granola on the red velvet which is red, by the way. I sat down in a high stool, over looking Delmar Blvd, so I could watch for cops, just in case they drove towards the parking metered lot.
Well the frozen yogurt was really good. Yummy… the frozen yogurt itself was sweet and delightful. I do wish they had sorbet, but it all was great. I’m so glad I went, and when I walked to my car, there wasn’t a ticket. I totally suggest making a meal out of the ice cream from Froyo.
