General Grant Car Wash

27.95 for automatic car wash and still my car wasn’t clean or dryers properly. I had a handful of trash that wasn’t vacuumed. I’m used to a real hand car wash where they take pride in detailed work. St. Louis, you need to step it up. Poor service, they did try to rectify the problem.

Love this car wash. Great work and can hit many price points depending on what you want done. Only complaint is why do you allow smoking by employees — or by anyone — where people wait?! The cigarette disposals stink even when someone is not smoking. Please consider changing this policy for the health of everyone and for true five star service.

By far, the best place around here to get your car washed! They *hand dry* your vehicle. They take personal attention to the details such as wiping the door jambs. You can get a simple exterior wash or choose the extensive detailing — or anything in between by using their elaborate or a la carte menu. Their service is excellent, friendly, and personal, calling clients by name. Try it once, you’ll be hooked.

I just got an upholstery cleaning at General Grant Carwash. I’ve had my car for a about 6 months, it was used when I bought it, and after 6 months of road trips, coffee spills, dog slobber and stale farts, the seats were looking a little rough. When they were finished, my seats looked brand new. Very satisfied.

$ 25 and the car’s still dirty. Dust and fingerprints on dash, leaves in just vacuumed seats and mud stuck all around the trunk. Paid $ 2 extra for a trunk vacuum that would have taken them 30 seconds, and they plain didn’t do it. Won’t be back. For the price I’d rather do it myself and get it clean.

Very pleased with my first trip here! My car was pretty trashed from several seasons of not attentively cleaning. I finally hit my breaking point when I left my windows open during a rain storm… oops. There was this horrible musty smell that I couldn’t get rid of.
I purchased two packages to clean my car seats and floors, and added mat cleaning. It took a little over an hour, which isn’t too bad considering it’s the last day before a holiday weekend & they were pretty busy. My car is good as new! I’m very happy with the service & will definitely be back.

Have taken both personal and company cars here, they do an amazing job. Very professional and thorough with detailing and car washes. Highly recommend them.

I was rather disappointed when upon purchase of the 5 star service at almost $ 30, my car still had quite a lot of the dirt that I started off with around the exterior, especially the bumper.
I had expected a thorough clean of both the inside and exterior and what I got was something I could have paid $ 10 for at the automated car wash.
I plan on never returning to or ever recommending this car wash.

As a self-​proclaimed foodie, I eat food everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Restaurants, work, home, and… in the car. There have been many moments where, in my hunger-​induced mania, I’ve resorted to scarfing down eats in my car.
And when you try to eat in a moving vehicle, things happen. A crumb here, a crumb there… it all eventually adds up. Oh, it adds up, alright. It was bad. Real bad. How bad was it?
It got to the point where my boyfriend didn’t really like riding in my car with me. It got to the point where I was embarrassed to show friends the inside of my car (and if I did, I always prefaced it with a ‘sorry my car is so messy!’)
It was SO bad that my boyfriend bought me a gift card to General Grants for my birthday and gently urged (read: BEGGED) me to use it.
This was 5 months ago.
Enter today. I finally found time in my schedule to hit up the General.
I pulled into the parking lot and stepped out of my car. A surly woman growled at me to pull my car around the back if I wanted a car wash. Ouch! «It’s my first time here…» I said meekly.
I pulled around to the back and looked at the menu of services. They offer pretty much everything. I went with the full service car wash (clean outside of car and vacuum the inside) and the surly man (I’m sensing a pattern here!) gave me a ticket and showed me the door where I could wait inside.
The inside of the place was pretty nice for a car wash establishment. There were windows where I could watch my car go through its cleaning cycle.
After the outside was washed and dried, it was time for the inside to be cleaned. Yay!
I think the guys did a pretty good job. A REALLY good job, even. There were a few gripes that I had (they vacuumed the floors, but not the center console), but for 14 bucks, I knew what I was getting into.
I will definitely come back. Despite the sourness of some of the employees, they really did do a good job. And it was QUICK! I was in and out in 15 minutes.

I’m a little torn on how to rate this place. I mean, they did a great job on the car. It was shiny, the wheels gleamed, the paint sparkled… however, there was a rock in one of their drying towels and it scratched up the windshield a bit. I mean, just a bit, but come on, it was a 6 month old car and there’s no replacing a windshield for just a scratch, right?
I will say, the manager was good about calling back and dealing with the issue. The windshield is still scraped but he did give 3 free washes for our troubles. At least that’s something and they didn’t just blow the whole thing off. You have to commend a place for that at least.
Also, this place was a little pricey. I guess if you go here, just do it with trepidation and make sure the towels are void of pebbles and such. I would say otherwise, it was a good experience. Just certainly far from perfect.
