I’m newish to St. Louis and had been to one other place for my waxing with very little satisfaction. So when I found Judith on Unilocal and saw all her reviews I had to try one more time. Honestly you will not regret it. Besides doing an amazing job at waxing ones sensitive parts, she is so easy to talk to and a very warm person.
The other staff is also very friendly and the ambience is very relaxed, making the experience all the more better!
I have no regrets and will definitely be back!!!

After browsing too many reviews, noticed J3 was nearby where I was staying while in Saint Louis for business. Also had awesome reviews. Emailed the salon on ³⁄₁₇ shortly after they closed… quick response from Judith after hours confirming my request to accommodate multiple wax services for the next day! Awesome!
Extremely impressed with the friendly front desk staff, and at Judith’s professionalism and welcoming spirit. She was extremely accommodating, talked me through the whole process and made me feel at ease during my services! I walked out of there feeling like I just got to hang out with one of my long time best friends! She did a phenomenal job, and even sent me on my way with a few additional after wax care goodies, and even recommended a local hot spot for dinner! (Sauce on the Side was delicious!!)
I wish I lived in Saint Louis, and could make my regular appointments with her — Great price, great service, great person. Totally worth the wait, even if she’s booked out a few weeks — you won’t regret her ripping your hair out of there!!!

I came to Missouri to be a bridesmaid for a wedding. My packed schedule require I get my hair cut in St. Louis, despite being from Houston. I checked out reviews for a few places and J3 Studio had availability with Tara. I was nervous since it was a total stranger cutting my hair for a big event, and I wanted a new style to boot.
Unfortunately, she did a really fantastic job. My new shorter cut held its shape great for 6 weeks (which never happens!). I even considered flying back to St. Louis for some reason to use her again. Now, she has set a very high bar, and I am left searching for someone locally who can meet it. My old stylist just won’t cut it anymore (haha).
The atmosphere of J3 was good. Parking seemed easy enough, and the studio was clean, small, and didn’t feel pretentious. Tara was easy to talk to a fantastic job!

Judith is great; So great that she is booked up in advance. So schedule early – You will be happy you did. She is fun and takes your mind off the fact that your hair is being ripped out. She has great attention to detail and does a mean facial too. I look forward to going back

My previous waxer, who I was naively happy with, left town. I tried Judith based on Unilocal reviews and it was a bonus that she is just a few neighborhoods away from me. I had always just had the attitude that waxing is one of the painful, vulnerable sacrifices women must make in life, but alas, I was wrong. A wax by Judith is practically pleasurable. How can that be? I’m not sure if it’s the numbing spray, the distracting conversation, the calming energy in the room, her great after-​care tips, the awesome results, or simply her technique. Whatever it is, it works and it’s amazing.

I was in town for a special event and needing a formal updo. Tara did an amazing job and she’s also so sweet and easy to talk to. Looking forward to my next opportunity to visit J3!

I’ve been going to Judith for a few years now, and won’t go anywhere else. Judith provides — hands down — the best waxing experience I’ve ever had. She truly is the best. She makes you feel completely comfortable in what is typically an uncomfortable situation, and you find yourself actually looking forward to waxing appointments. I don’t know how she does it, but she manages to be completely professional and like one of your best girlfriends all at the same time. Five stars, all the way.

I recently started going to J3 Studio for my bikini wax as I’ve been to many different aestiticians over the years and havent been too thrilled as of lately. I find that Judith’s personality puts you immediately at ease as she is very laid back and treats you like she’s known you for years. She has fun music playing and the room is very spacious compared to your typical spa treatment room. You also don’t wear those silly paper panties. She simply has you place a small towel over yourself. She also uses numbing spray which is amazing! I was finally brave enough to get the brazilian with her and I love it. I would and have recommended her to friends!

I have been to Judith for a wax a few times. She was my first wax and she did the whole shebang. I’ve waxed my own legs for years and am very aware of the pain that comes along with waxing. I’ve also become somewhat desensitized over the years which helped in my decision to go ahead with the wax of all wax. For being in the most vulnerable state as a female, laying down with your legs spread apart and eventually up in the air for a minute, I felt very comfortable there. The setting is relaxing as well as Judith’s professional/​nonchalant demeanor. She keeps you distracted as she essentials rips the most course hair on your body ha.
Waxing is waxing and it’s gonna hurt a little. If you want the best experience, you need to make an appointment with Judith. The wait to get in is long for a reason. I would not go to anyone else.

@Melanie A., first of all, i do not appreciate being called a liar, everybody is entitled to their opinion and all experiences are different. Unilocal allows people to freely state their experiences and we should be able to do so without childish name calling. It was my first time there and at that point I was not trying to make a friend but seeing what the service was like. Happy to open up an appointment for those who want to converse with somebody who isn’t respectful of your opinions. Everybody had different experiences and glad yours has been positive, but mine was not. I am not worried about finding somebody else, as I am looking for a positive experience, service and conversation, which I didn’t have at J3.
Most people I go to for personal services have become friends so I understand building relationships with those who provide you with excellent experiences.

I have been a J3 regular since it opened and a Judith groupie for over 5 years. At J3, you are treated as part of an elite clientele, or family. I find it hard to believe, and frankly think the person is lying, that Judith insulted them on their first visit. Anyone who has met Judith knows she respects and is open to all different opinions about anything and everything. On more than one occasion, I have been so engaged in conversation that I didn’t even flinch when Judith was taking care of things south of the border (if you know what I mean).
If you are looking for somewhere you are treated like a «customer» and want to talk at someone rather than engage in conversation, J3 is not for you. Thanks @Roma N. for opening up some space for the rest of us and good luck finding anyone else like Judith… it won’t happen.

I just received a PHENOMENAL hair cut and color from my fave, Emily! I couldn’t describe what I wanted very well and some how she was able to translate my wants into picturesque hair! I am absolutely in love with it so THANK YOU Emily!!!

Judith is amazing. A true goddess. She is somehow very professional and casual at the same time. I’m new to STL and this was only my second wax ever. I didn’t know what to expect, but it had to better than my first time (see previous review). The place is super clean, all the girls there were really nice. She worked quickly (thank god), missed nothing and gave me lots of welcome advice. And it didn’t hurt near as bad as I thought it would! This place was pretty hard to locate, but I also liked that. I almost hate to leave a review like this because it was a little difficult to get and make regular appointments already due to her popularity but considering I should have turned to Unilocal before my first experience, I want everyone else to know that she is the absolute best. I hope I never have to go anywhere else.

Judith was absolutely amazing. I will recommend her to everyone I know. She worked very quickly and kept the conversation going so I kept my mind off of the task. This chick knows her stuff and boy was she fast. I will never go anywhere else for my waxings.

Got my hair cut by Helen and it was fabulous. Probably the best hair cut I’ve had in years, so glad I found j3!

Judith is simply the best at what she does!
I needed to prepare for an upcoming vacay and had to find someone on the fly for a bikini wax. What a great experience I had! Judith is personable and makes what is normally an excruciating procedure a virtual walk in the park. She’s my new go-​to for waxing services!

An underground speakeasy of fashion greatness — so FUN! and yet– am I in an underground speakeasy here? Upon walking in, I was greeted with a pair of empty couches, stone walls, and the sound of a hair dryer in the room next door. Okaaaay… I will have a seat.
Upon paging through the glossy designs of a recent fashion magazine, I arrived on my appointment time with Emily. The artist who was soon to craft my new (SHORT) hairstyle.
Now let it be known that I am not a fearful client.
I do not feel that my hair creates my persona.
BUT…
Stylists always tell you to look at old photos of yourself and decide which one «made you look HOT»
OK. So I made an executive decision (and was sick and tired of spending money to dye my hair in intricate ways each month) to cut my hair OFF in a delicious pixie style.
Things at J3 went very well. My hair was transformed from a frumpy, shoulder-​length crop into a face-​illuminating short… ummm…PIXIE!!! If you’re going to go short, you might as well go all the way.
After chopping all of my hair off, I realized that my eyebrows needed some tender care. Luckily one of the most famous (other than your head) hairstylists in St. Louis works within this same salon.
She quickly brought me into her own rocky and underground speakeasy and POOFED my eyebrow shreds into brushstrokes worthy of a Chinese painting.
Now that I’m sitting at home photographing my new hairstyle with my cell phone, the style is pretty fab.

Do you remember the episode of Sex in the City where Carrie goes to LA and is «robbed» by the waxer? My first trip to Judith went a little like that. Of course she knew what was best for me and knew what I wanted, even if I wasn’t able to communicate it. She has opened my eyes to a whole new world, a naked, hairless world and I have never looked back.
The best part is how quick she is. I cannot say there is no pain, I mean I am getting my hair ripped out by the root, but compared to any other waxer I have ever been to, she is the closest to pain free you will ever get.
I lied. Really the best part is how awesome Judith is. She is funny enough, that I almost forget I am getting my hair ripped out by the roots. I look forward to my appointments the same way I look forward to having lunch with a good friend.
Plus let’s face it my eyebrows and ummmm the rest of me, have never looked better. 5 stars are not nearly enough for J3 Studios.

Kidding. But seriously, Judith really is the best in more ways than one. Not only is she amazing at what she does, she’s probably one of the coolest people I know. Although I was super excited to finally move away from St. Louis, I was super bummed to leave her. I really wish she would get her international credentials and be THE international esthetician, and fly to the UK :-)

My husband has been going to J3 Studio since Emily (hair stylist) started working there. She does great work and is really personable. In fact, he got it cut and highlighted today, and it looks fantastic.
From what I’ve heard, Judith, the owner, is the best waxer in St. Louis… I’ll have to schedule an appointment soon!
