Jason Allen, DMD

I have been going to Dr. Allen’s office for 3 years and love this office! The staff is friendly and always make me feel welcome. I have never even had to sit in the waiting room before I am taken back. They are always ready and waiting for me. I have had everything from basic cleanings to more thorough procedures. The hygienist does a very thorough cleaning and is gentle, respectful and friendly. Dr. Allen is very knowledgeable, trustworthy and always listens to my concerns. I have never experienced pain in any of the procedures I have had, including fillings and a crown. The office is very state of the art modern and beautiful. I have referred a couple friends to Dr. Allen as well and I highly recommend this warm, caring, professional staff!

There are few people who actually want to visit a dentist but I generally schedule a visit every 6 months and I’ve always had a good experience even with several moves because of work. I’ve heard stories that a good dentist is hard to find and this experience with Allen’s office proved just that.
In general, I found the office with a staff that was extremely relaxed. My appointment followed lunch so I’m guessing folks were out on lunch or staying in for lunch. My welcome was lack luster and I was told to wait. They have a decent waiting area. After 15 minutes, the dental hygienist called me back, we did xrays and then she started with her cleaning…
That’s where things really got interesting. The hygienist says to me, «When was your last cleaning?» I told her it was 7, maybe 8 months since I moved to St. Louis about that time back and had a cleaning before I left the Jersey area. She then says she’ll need to schedule another time for me to come in and walks out of the room.
I’d say a solid 15 – 20 minutes go by and I’m just laying on this chair, leaned back and then she reappears and says, «Ok. We are going to do a light cleaning and have the dentist do his exam.» I figured this was alright so she went ahead and did the cleaning which was by far the fastest and lightest teeth cleaning I’ve ever had.
Then the dentist walks in. Butchers my name and then starts his exam. As I’m laid back with a bright light in my face, the dentist says, «Is there anything else you’d like to ask me about today?» I was confused by the question… so I asked, «Like what?» The dentist replies, «Well, do you like what you see when you look in the mirror?» I kid you not, I was like whoa, what. So again, I said «What do you mean?» So the dentist says, «Well, like with your smile.» I was a little surprised (and wondering what the hell happened to my smile since I’ve been in the chair), so I reply, «Doc, folks often say I have a nice smile.» With that, the dentist replies, «Well that’s subjective. They don’t know. I see your smile and I see where it’s not right.»
Yep. He said it. Just like that. I wanted to just get out of the chair but decided I’d have my say here with a review. There are way too many other dentists in town to spend your money with. I’ve never experienced a dentist like this and hope I never do again.

Dr. Allen is my fourth dentist throughout my dental health history. He is an excellent dentist who moved into The Hill neighborhood to take over the practice of a retiring dentist and it coincided with my move the neighborhood in 2008. I have been so pleased with his staff as well as his ability as a dentist. I trust him and have never had any pain or issues after a visit. My husband has also been happy, which is saying alot since he had a terrible experience as a teenager and getting him to go to the dentist is an amazing feat in itself. He also appreciates Dr. Allen’s skills and he feels comfortable around him. I highly recommend.

I have been going to Dr. Allen’s office for two years now, after switching from a very long time family dentist.

You enter a very hip newly remodeled office (that plays great music for all ages) and then you are greeted with a very pleasant and helpful receptionist.
You are then placed into the very capable hands of the dental hygienist. She gives you a very thorough but not painful… at all, cleaning. I used to be a white knuckled patient with no patience, not anymore! She is fabulous!
Dr. Allen then comes in and examines your teeth/​mouth with great detail. I have only been to 2 dentists in my entire life and I feel very confident and comfortable that I have made the right choice in changing.

I went to Dr. Allen because he was the closest dentist to my house that took my insurance. I called to schedule an appointment and was able to get in really fast thought there office was cute. Also both of the radios in the rooms I was in where tuned to KDHX, so that was pretty cool. Bonus for me that after not going to the dentist in 8 years I only had 5 cavities.

I found this dentist because his daughters go to my sons school so I made an appt for my son with him. We walk in the office and we are the onyl ones there so the wait was probaly 2 – 3 minutes which is a plus when you have a kid. The actual patients room was very small though. It could hold my son in the chair, the dentist, and the assistant. I had to watch from the hall. Dr. Allen was very friendly and explained everything he was doing. But at the end of the appt. he said Tyler had a cavity but he couldn’t really fill it for us because he is not equipped for the nitrous. So I would probably recommend him for adults only but not so much the children.
