I was visiting WashU for an interview and was very scrapped for cash to go back to the airport. I asked if they could change my card and get cash back, which they couldn’t do, but the staff all pitched in to get me enough money for a ticket. So heartwarming and unbelievably generous of the staff! I would definitely come here regularly just to hang out with them if I were from around here. Great people, you’ll be treated well here!

I am OBSESSED with this place. I frequent it almost every day and have yet to have a bad meal or drink here. I love the vegetarian menu choices… the black bean burrito is EVERYTHING!!! It is so good that I have had it for lunch for the past 2 weeks! The staff is super friendly and quick to get your orders ready. The barrista’s are AWESOME and really know what they are doing. I usually order a cappuccino with almond milk and it is PERFECTION here. Don’t forget to get your punch card stamped if you visit here regularly. You get a free drink for ever 10 drinks you order. I am not sure what the other Kaldi’s are like, but I really like this one.

If you find yourself at Barnes Hospital(as a visitor), head next door to the Washington University medical school. The first floor lobby has a cool coffee ship with a lot of tables and spaces to work or enjoy a coffee by yourself or with a small group. I ordered an iced coffee(which was good, but you can’t really mess up iced coffee) and a black-bean burrito which was clearly microwaved(this was slightly disappointing). Kaldi’s earned 4 stars because of the friendly service and great atmosphere for working but lost 1 for the mediocre food. Sometimes mediocre, microwaved food is good enough, but today I was really hoping for something better.

I ordered the breakfast burrito with chorizo. Yum! Doesn’t taste reheated, was nice and hot, the chorizo was fresh and nice and spicy. Service was quick. They have a nice rotation of coffee blends.

I love having a Kaldi’s on the WashU med campus! Their menu is amazing, the staff is super friendly, and they have an excellent selection of baked goods, healthy snacks and meals. Plus their coffee is top notch, just like every other location in town. It’s my go-to coffee shop when I need a break in the day or want to meet up with a friend for lunch or a coffee break. Plus I’m thrilled to say the quality is on par with their other locations(also favorites of mine). A little pricey, but they provide high quality food and drink, so I am ok paying the price! Keep up the good work Kaldi’s.

While this place definitely isn’t in the same league as my favorite coffee shops, on the scale of «University and/or Hospital coffee spots», this one is definitely 5 star. They obviously serve Kaldi’s brand coffee, which as a Kansas Citian, I am rapidly learning is quite high quality, and they were actually able to satisfy my carnivore hunger with a vegetarian breakfast burrito, no small feat indeed! It’s bright and clean and has ample seating with free wifi. If you’re just going through STL and looking for a coffee shop on Unilocal, there are definitely more appropriate places nearby(including the original Kaldi’s in the Central West End), but if you’re stuck at the hospital for one reason or another, you can at least take solace in a(categorically weighted) top-notch coffee shop.
