Love this low key, neighborhood joint which is now a NONSMOKING establishment(outside patio excluded). Adam is a peach, as are Margaret, Jimmy and the rest of the gang. The food is great and well priced. I love the toasted ravioli especially. I stop in every visit back home. Check out website for daily specials

Nice, cozy neighborhood bar with friendly bartender and good food. Decided to come here on a tuesday night for food and drinks. The place was pretty much empty except for a few drinkers at the bar. The bartender was very nice and quick with the drinks. We went for some classic appetizer bar food. Chicken wings, chicken tenders, onion rings and a St. Louis staple, toasted raviolis. All were delicious and came out in about 5 – 7 minutes. Will come back for more!

This is not a review of the food because my dining experience did not make it that far. On a whim, a friend and I went there for dinner. There was one other group in the entire restaurant. After taking a look around we chose the filthy table with a cigarette butt because it was the cleanest table available. After about 10 minutes and three clarifications, the waiter was finally able to get us our 2 sodas. Trying to get a menu from him proved to be too tall of an order. After another 10 minutes we just left. This restaurant acts as if they are actively trying to discourage patronage. Luckily there are a 1000 good restaurants in the area so I won’t ever have to return here

You can smoke inside. Instant loss of stars. I know it’s a bar — but, that’s just how it goes for me — if you can smoke inside, you can’t get a «good» rating from me. Bison burger was good, served quickly, went on a week night when there was a hockey game, wasn’t too crowded — seems like a real«Community» type bar without quite the«dive» feeling.

Looking for a place away from all the pretense of Clayton, but still(almost) in Clayton — Krueger’s is the place. Great staff, stiff drinks and a mellow atmosphere are the things that keep bringing me back!

Friendly bartenders and comfortable atmosphere. Also one of the few smoking bars left– not that I am a smoker. I have yet to try the food here but I heard it is pretty good. I witnessed the demolition of several burgers here in past trips.

Not great and Not terrible. The prices aren’t really what i expected higher for a bit of a run down bar. Still average for the area I suppose. There’s always some older guy at the bar hitting on the younger women who are with their boyfriends which was kinda Odd.

It’s a little corner bar on Forsyth between downtown Clayton and Washington University. This is still a smoking establishment. They have a number of specials — both daily specials which can be viewed on their website and other specials. Today they had hot tomales, chili, and beef brisket. But I went with what I knew and what the previous two reviewers mentioned as well — the burger. I had the bison burger($ 7.50) with soft cheddar(add 75c). If you get the bison and they ask how you want it cooked, I would recommend medium. You don’t want bison overcooked. The soft cheddar topping was tasty, but man, does it melt/slide right off your burger. It takes a bit of maneuvering to keep your sandwich together.(Using my best memory on the prices) You get a choice of side, and I had the fries. They were surprisingly very good for«bar and grill» fries. I made a mixture of mayo and ketchup to dip them in. One friend got the brisket and liked it. Another friend got the reuben and was surprised how tasty the corned beef was, so that really stood out. Good service, good food. My burger, fries, and soda($ 2) cost me about $ 12 after tax, not counting tip.

A nice neighborhood place, staff friendly and the burgers excellent. I also like the fish and chips. I prefer to sit outside in the summer, but be warned its very smoker friendly inside and if your a non-smoker, I’d avoid the place, very poor venting of smoke and you’ll leave stinking of it.

Solid neighborhood bar. plastic dartboard, friendly patrons, and just a nice place to grab a burger and relax on the street. Beers a fairly cheap($ 3 — $ 4) Burgers with fries run about $ 6 — $ 8. Not too much on the menu, burgers, wings, bar food, but bar food done well. Nothing about the place will wow anyone. But if you want to relax with a few friends, or just need a place to watch the Cardinals game, this is as good a place as any.
