Check out Luna Lounge to hone your version of Zeppelin on their karaōke nights, throw some darts, and have a great time. I love popping in with a small group of friends, taking in the atmosphere, and getting drinks quickly. To the point, Luna is a great neighborhood bar. I’ve seen bachelorette parties, solo folks, old friends, and new friends enjoying themselves… Stop in for a good time.

I didn’t expect much from the outside appearance. But I’m so glad we went. Moseyed in there to do some Karaōke(first time for my pal!) and have a few beers. The bartender was new but attentive and friendly. The gal MCing the Karaōke was a doll! Funny, talented and a great host. She was wildly accommodating to the songs we chose. We got there early so there weren’t many people, but that was just fine. Everyone that WAS there was friendly and happy to be there. They have darts; dry on non league nights. Bummer it’s a smoking establishment, but it seemed pretty well ventilated. I’ve come to realize lots of Karaōke bars are smoking. So it’s not unexpected. Overall we had a great time. Friendly folks mixed with talents and cheap beer… pretty fun night, I think! Thanks, Luna!

ENORMOUS gratitude to The Luna Lounge for hospitality, enthusiasm + heart in helping to plan #LaughSTL. Great venue, staff, food. Jason and team went above and beyond for our fundraiser, literally rolling out a red carpet for our guests. The place looks rather unassuming from the outside but they have a beautiful place inside. This is my second event there and I hope for more!

No me gusta. Luna Lounge appears to be an okay bar, but I would definitely call my experience there Friday night two stars. After the Urge concert Friday night, we met up with some friends to sing karaōke. Instead of hitting up a few options near Soulard, our friends chose Luna Lounge. Right away, I was not impressed with the set up. Also, non-smokers beware! I have no beef with smoking bars, but this place is super smoky. So much so that my throat hurt badly afterwards. We came for the karaōke and left with no karaōke. The lady in charge took my song request and said that she probably couldn’t fit me in. Then she proceeded to sing the last song of the night. Is it truly fair to make that statement and then make special time for her own song? I figure that maybe the customers’ songs might be more important than the people getting paid to be there. Just saying… There’s probably an upside to this establishment, but I’m not sure that I’m patient enough to find out. I did look at the website and saw some pretty cheap eats on their menu, but I don’t know if that’s enough to bring me back. I assume regulars of this bar get prime treatment, but they certainly didn’t make a regular out of me.

oooooo so close to 5 stars for me. just visited this place tonight. My girlfriend loves to sing karaōke but I hate the place she usually goes to. I’m on a mission to find a place we both like. I loved this bar. mixed crowd, young and older, bartender sang zombie by the cranberries. Will visit again but… The karaōke DJ was kind of bad. music too loud for the low turn out(because of rain) some people had 2 turns at the mic while my girl had too wait. my girl said something to the DJ but the DJ said she had a bunch of songs come up at once. OK but after every singer the DJ played a regular song. if she had so many requests she didn’t need to stretch the time so much. Seemed like she was playing to herself and giving her plenty of time to figure out how her system worked. The DJ would cut off the regular songs abruptly followed by silence. if you want to end a song early, use the fade out. The DJ is just not ready to go live, needs more practice to be smooth with the equipment. So the DJ was the only reason i didn’t give 5 stars. coming back to try the food.

Can’t say enough good stuff about this place. The owners are friendly, the bartenders are speedy and it’s a nice place to go for fun. Haven’t tried the food yet but it’s a decent variety listed on the menu. The only drawback would be parking but that’s not something the bar can actually help since it’s all street.

Why is this non-smoker giving a smoky bar four stars? Easy: the people at the Luna Lounge are awesomely nice and truly care that you have a good time. And, um, they have karaōke. I used to go to the Luna on Wednesdays to get my karaōke fix with friends. Wednesdays aren’t über crowded and the number of smokers on that night probably wouldn’t bother less sensitive people, but it got to the point where my eyes, nose and throat hated me, so I had to stop going. That doesn’t prevent me from singing the Luna’s praises, though(Get it? SINGING! Har.). The karaōke runner is very encouraging and does a good job reaching out to singers on Twitter. The song selection is pretty good(Lots of grunge — yay!), and it’s helpful to see the words on both a small tv monitor and a large super-large screen/wall. I don’t drink, so I can’t comment on what everyone imbibes or the prices, but my friends have been really, really happy getting a variety of drinks here. I know the Luna has regular specials, including lower drink prices for ladies on certain nights, too. I’ve nibbled nachos and fries here, and they’re a notch above standard bar food. But really, the people who work at the Luna are what make the bar a great meeting place. Everyone is so friendly and loves to chat with you, and they’ve brought our rowdy group free shots when our karaōke group has been loud and thirsty. And here’s something that scores big points with me: the owner does an outstanding job connecting with people on Facebook and Twitter, and the bar has become something of a tweetup place. Even though I don’t go to the Luna anymore, it’s nice to still have that connection. And even better than that? The Luna supports local music, events and benefits. Yeah, I might not head to the Luna every Wednesday now, but I’m still happy to recommend this bar to friends who like a good time with good people.

Not quite the loungiest of spots, but this place was really fun. Your typical exposed brick, mostly white clientele, everyone-knows-eachother sort of bar. The bartender is super accommodating and sees to it that you enjoy yourself. And he has selected a very strange variety of illustrations for the walls(think strawberries and cream plus Playboy) While they don’t have anything on tap, they do have cheap beer; in fact, they have all of 5 cheap beers to choose from. It makes for an easy decision. This place was incredibly busy on a Tuesday night with some live music– I hope to come back again.

Luna Lounge has opened up in the old Dogtown Italiano space. Many of the same people in the kitchen and behind the bar, so I don’t know if there was a change of ownership or just a face lift. Regardless, I’m really a fan. This place has great drinks, reasonably priced and from the two items I’ve had off the menu — they have a stellar lineup. The babyback ribs I had were freak’n increadible — fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, enliven the taste buds good. Really a wow for a place that doesn’t focus on BBQ. The Lobster/seafood ravioli is better than the standard fare — a-lot! nicely sauced, meaty, yummy. Was a diverse, enjoyable crowd with very low DB factor(unless I’m the DB). Way to go guys, I’ll be back.
