Mad Science is on a mission to spark the imagination and curiosity of children by providing them with fun, interactive, and educational programs that instill a clear understanding of what science is really about and how it affects their world.

History

Established in 1998.

Mad Science was founded in 1985 in Montréal, Canada. The story starts with 2 brothers, Ariel and Ron Shlien, who had fun conducting spectacular science experiments to amaze the children in their neighborhood. They instantly recognized that interactive activities are a great way to stimulate children’s curiosity. Best of all — children love them!

Mad Science had grown from a hobby to a passion & from a passion to a thriving business. Ariel & Ron continued to receive numerous requests from parents, teachers & organizations accross America for Mad Science in their cities. The next step was clear: Franchise the concept. By the end of 1996, 28 Mad Science franchises were operating across N America.

In 1998 Mad Science of St. Louis opened it’s doors as a home-​based business in U City. Its popularity grew quickly and by 2000 Mad Science moved to it’s first office. Today Mad Science has an office staff of 5 & over 30 instructors that reach tens of thousands of kids throughout St. Louis!
