Really like the variety of selection on accessories. Staff was very friendly and patient with someone like myself who has little mechanical knowledge.

Traci Berry is an excellent sales person for men, too. She has good experiences to add to your cycling background and ride. A big help to me in preparing for Katy Trail ride. She cares and takes time to serve.
She discovered a missing strap to my Timbuk2 bag that I purchased online. She called from store and tracked down my online order. They sent a new strap and I am using bag as Traci shows me.
Store needs more stock, but still adequate. First rate service.

Traci is the best bicycle sales person for a female shopper. She talks the talk and is so approachable and not high pressure. A truly great shopping experience after the intimidating Big Shark experience.

In reading some reviews for this shop, there have been several mentions about this shop being snobby. This shop isn’t snobby, cycling is snobby! If you’re a cyclist, you know what I say is the truth. Is this a high-​end shop? Yes. Will they help anybody? Yes. A novice might feel intimidated here, but this is a friendly shop.
Whenever I’m in St. Louis I try to make it by Mesa to pick up some gear that the shops in Memphis don’t carry. I love the service in my hometown, but the shops really don’t carry a lot of options in regard to aftermarket parts and cycling apparel. Mesa carries the winter gear and products that I need to ride year-​round.
It takes a ton of money to stock a bike shop with high-​end wheelsets and bib tights, but Mesa has the stock, believe me.
In major cities, there is a flagship Trek store and a flagship Specialized store (these are bike brands, if you are just starting out). Mesa is the Specialized store in this equation. They have all the stuff from Specialized. It may mean nothing to you now, but if you become engrossed in riding like all sensible cyclists, you could never outgrow this shop.
Don’t let the fancy bike shop stuff intimidate you. Cyclists are snobby by nature. I’ve never had a problem getting good help in the store, although I rarely need it. St. Louis has several good shops, which is nice for those visits back to my hometown — -and Mesa is at the top of my list. If I ever decide to pull the trigger on the high-​end Roubaix that calls my name, Mesa is the place to fulfill that dream.

I’ve given this shop so much business over the years, because the location is convenient… and every time I leave thinking, «why am I giving my money to these guys?»
Well, I won’t be doing that any more.

had a little «accident» with my pretentious fixie yesterday… A&M cyclery was closed. big shark reviews turned me off… checked out mesa… and it was worth it! the guys there took a look my bike right away… it was obvious that its my only mode of transportation. no judging. let me watch them fix it. they even noticed a loose screw in my headset. they fixed that. i asked how much… and to my delight, they told me i was all set! thats some customer service! definitely making this place my first choice for bike service.

The store is clearly geared towards serious cyclists, particularly racing/​road cyclists. I commute around town with a 20-​year old used touring bike, so that’s not really my bag, but the staff at Mesa was very helpful and friendly. They helped me pick out a helmet, recommended some locks, and put up with my rookie cyclist questions. I need some lights for night riding, so I’m sure I’ll be back this week.

I like Mesa a lot. I’m really indecisive, so I love that the employees are amazingly patient and understanding. Prices may seem a little high, but the quality of the product is well worth the price. I bought my specialized mountain bike here 4 years ago, and I’m planning to go back for a road bike.

Mesa Cycles is such a great bike store! The cycle team that I used to go to went out of business. So, I was on the hunt for another shop not just to buy cycle gear from, but also a new team to join. the first time I walked in to the shop I was greeted by two very helpful employees. I was not there to buy anything, but to ask questions about joining their cycling team. Now, Im not a pro by any means, but they were excited to help me out. I cant wait for nicer weather so I can meet and start riding with some of the other team members!!!

This is where I bought my Specialized Roubaix Elite a few years back and I miss the shop to this day. I’ve since moved away from St. Louis but I have yet to find another shop in the country that parallels the service with solid products. As the first reviewer says, this is no discount bike shop. Everything is probably a little more than you were wanting to pay for it but for the most part it’s worth it as they stock a very solid brand selection.
This truly is the kind of shop where the serious pros go. Meaning, they do it all the time and they have absolutely no problem dropping a few thousand dollars on a new set of wheels. Fortunately, if you buy your bike from them (they all come with a sticker by the bottom bracket), they’ll give you some help as far as cash goes on services. I’ve had pretty much every service here done for free thus far (with the exception of the time that I got hit by a car and needed a serious rebuild).
The other benefit is they have a program similar to REI’s where you give them your membership card and you get a certain percentage back in store credit at the end of the year. After purchasing the bike and a few upgrades, I was able to buy a new helmet, pedals, and shoes the following year. Definitely a big fan of rewarding loyalty. Keep it up.

This is a good top of the line bike shop with top of the line bike prices. A good number of the regulars who come here are racer types and they cater to that crowd.
But despite that, I still like this shop as a recreational/​fitness/​enthusiast cyclist. When I bought my Specialized road bike last fall, the guy who helped me was SUPER helpful. He never tried telling me i needed to get a higher end bike, and once I told him what I wanted he found the perfect bike for me. Once you buy, they will hook you up with everything you need, including a personalized fitting session, so the bike fits you *perfectly*.
The accessory selection is pretty good, but don’t expect any serious mark downs. That goes for bikes too. It seems they pretty much do MSRP only here. I think you can get some off season deals though. They also pretty much only carry top brands and top components.
This is a shop that I would recommend to someone who is already into cycling and decides they want to take it to the next level. Someone starting out or looking for a cheap ride to take out a couple of times a year would be better off elsewhere.
