Parc Frontenac Apartments

We have lived here for a year and a half and it has really been a great experience. We moved into the Parc having never been to STL before and we couldn’t have made a better choice. The maintenance staff is absolutely amazing. Any maintenance issues we have are dealt within a day or two and they are the nicest people. We knew that they were replacing our windows one day so we expected to come home to a nightmare afterwards– but our apartment was cleaner than when we left it. Carpets completely vacuumed and not a thing out of place. The door attendants (Kimmy and Glen espc.) are so helpful and the management staff is always quick to help. The roof & business center are also amazing additions and make the Parc pretty hard to beat.

–Overall: LOVE IT! Apartment is gorgeous with a perfect location and view.
–Noise is non existent. Was concerned about noise but I haven’t heard a single peep from any neighbor around. (The walls are all made out of concrete)
–Move in went perfect. The leasing office was so nice and accommodating. The service elevator is small so watch out if you have a large couch like I do. But there are ways to get it up still of it doesn’t fit.
–Security is fantastic. I love the front desk people. They are extremely polite.
–Location is amazing. Really couldn’t ask for me.
–Price is fabulous. I have a large one bedroom for $ 1400 on the 12^th floor with an amazing view. I think this is a steal coming from Houston.

I’ve lived at the Parc Frontenac for 2 years and plan to stay for at least a couple more. After scoping out various places in the Central West End, I remain convinced that we literally live in the best apartment in the neighborhood. The building is great… good old construction so that I never hear a sound through the concrete walls. But it is not shabby at all… everything is clean and modern. The roof deck is amazing… complete with tables and chairs and grills. The little gym downstairs is great if you need it… but the giant park across the street is even better for exercising.
All the staff (office management, maintenance, front desk/​door men/​women) are great… friendly, helpful, and good at their jobs. Great building security too… I have never felt safer.
The location cannot be beat either… walking distance to everything.
I’ve lived in more apartments than I can remember (been renting and moving for more than 20 years)…this is definitely the best one so far.

I came in for a tour today and was nothing but pleased with the leasing agent, Mani, and the rest of the staff. They were extremely professional and friendly to me as they showed me around the building. I went and looked at a few more apartments after my visit and not only did I find no comparison to the building and facilities but also the staff. I came back later in the day and the apartment I had looked at had been leased, but they were able to find me a different one and even waived a few fees and utility charges. I could not have asked for nicer or more accommodating people to deal with and I am extremely excited to move in and interact with them on a daily basis!

I lived at Parc Frontenac for over 5 years and I would recommend this building to anyone without reservation. The only reason I moved was because I was transferred to Chicago for my job. If I could have uprooted the building and moved it to Chicago with me, I would have done it in a second.
Pros
— Location! Forest Park is literally right across the street and dozens of restaurants/​bars/​stores (including two grocery stores) are within very close walking distance.
— Despite the very active nightlife in the neighborhood, I always felt completely safe as a single woman living alone in this apartment. I am not aware of any crimes that have ever been reported inside the building.
— Management office, doormen, and maintenance are fantastic. Some are better than others, obviously, but, for the most part, everyone is friendly, laid-​back, and responsive. Calls are always returned quickly and work orders are always processed in a reasonable amount of time. When my air conditioner broke, they had a new one installed within a matter of hours. But it’s one thing to have a management company that fixes their own mistakes; Parc goes above and beyond. In fact, once, I dropped my hairbrush down the toilet (still can’t quite figure out how that happened) and it broke. They replaced the toilet with no questions; no charge, even though it was clearly my fault. To me, that speaks volumes.
— Heat in the winter is included in rent and very generous. I was never cold, but the maintenance staff will wrap your air conditioners if you feel a draft.
— The building makes a real effort at building a community. I was in law school when I first moved in and working constantly for the two years after graduation, so I didn’t have a chance to participate as much as I would have liked. But they do everything from Christmas parties to yoga on the roof to keeping a social calendar in the elevator. They even bring in grab-​n-​go breakfast for the residents every once in awhile or cupcakes for the occasional holiday. It’s evident that a lot of thought goes into making residents feel appreciated.
— Amenities are great. The laundry room is always clean, well-​lit, and decidedly un-​creepy. The exercise room could use more machines, but again, it’s clean and well-​lit, it gets the job done and it’s rarely over-​crowded. But the roof deck is really the highlight. It’s huge and there are spectacular views of the city, along with more than enough seating to accommodate multiple groups on any given evening. There are also plenty of BBQs if you ever want to throw a party in the summer.
— Thick walls. Occasionally, someone would crank up their bass and the sound would faintly make its way into my living space. But, more often than not, I was convinced my apartment must be soundproof. MANY of my neighbors had dogs and I was amazed at how rarely I heard so much as a distant bark.
— A few things I didn’t fully appreciate until I moved elsewhere: mail slots on every floor, vending machines in the basement, plenty of carts in the basement to haul groceries from your car, business center with free wifi and coffee, no charge to lock down the freight elevator, and a guest suite that can be reserved for visiting friends/​relatives (much nicer/​less expensive than local hotels).
Cons
— The policy on guest parking. The new management company realized last year that non-​residents/​non-​guests were parking for free in the back lot and so, now, guests have to come inside and check in with the doorman in order to make it past the parking gate. I understand the purpose, but this can get a little obnoxious for both you and your guest — especially when it’s a friend just stopping by for dinner or meeting you for a movie.
— When they rehab an apartment near yours, you’ll feel like your entire apartment is shaking if you’re home during the day. The good news is, it doesn’t last long. If you can make it through a few weeks, you’ll be back to peace and quiet. And the management office is great about taking requests on the timing of construction. For example, I had a take-​home 24 hour exam right in the middle of a rehab the first year I moved in. Lucius arranged for the construction team to perform fairly quiet tasks that day. Just communicate openly with the office and you’ll be fine.
— Rent has been steadily increasing, but whatcha gonna do? I think that’s pretty much every rental building in the country.
If I had stayed in St. Louis, I would absolutely have upgraded to a two bedroom with this building. The cons don’t even begin to overtake the pros. I could not have been happier living here.

I’ve been living in this apartment for about 2 months, and I’ve been satisfied with my experience so far. The management here is pretty awesome… maintenance requests are generally fulfilled within a day or two and all the doormen are super nice. The actual building is on the old side, but has been renovated recently. My apartment is HUGE and all the appliances are new. There are all the amenities you could possibly want… including a small gym (that has a sauna!), free coffee!, free wifi in the business center, and a beautiful view of the St. Louis skyline from the roof.
The insulation in my apartment, however, is lacking. Since the building is located a few blocks away from Barnes-​Jewish Hospital, ambulances are plentiful in the streets below… and the sirens can be heard very clearly from my room. Also, the thermal insulation is problematic as well, and it can get pretty cold… Another issue with the Parc Frontenac is that their underground parking garage is in high demand, and there’s a waiting list if you want your own in-​door parking spot. Outdoor and valet parking, however, are available.
The biggest con, however, is the RENT. For St. Louis, the Parc Frontenac is pricey. But at the same time, since the building has awesome views, stainless steel appliances, doormen, and FREE coffee… what did you expect?

I have lived in Parc Frontenac since May 2009. I lived in a former «sister» property and must say Parc Frontenac is much better. I really like the renovated apartments and I have an apartment that has a beautiful view of the city and the arch.
The rooftop is an awesome place to escape to and whenever I bring friends over they really like the beautiful view of St. Louis that can be enjoyed. This year I watched the balloon race in Forest Park from the roof and it was a very enjoyable time.
For me, the location is ideal… it’s walking distance to Barnes Hospital and it’s at the heart of the central west end. What more could I ask for? I also feel that having a front desk person makes the building safer and more welcoming

The location is great– rooftop view of forest park.
It’s also definitely safer than other apartments in the area.
The staff is wonderful.
There’s lots of parking options available.
Any Maintenance issues (I don’t have many) usually taken care of that day or the next.

Pros:
— The staff is GREAT! From Richard the doorman to Roy the valet to Lucius the manager.
— Sky Terrace that overlooks Forest Park (sunset view). You can also see the Arch.
— Fitness Center has a tv, hot tub and sauna.
— Valet parking!
— Forest Park is your front yard!
— Vending machines
— Mail packages are signed for you and can be picked up at all hours of the day (yes, even when you get home at midnight).
— Business center with fax machine + coffee machine + free wifi.
Cons:
— The prices are a little steep (goes up as you go higher in the building — the views will cost you).
— The ambulances and drivers who crank their music up and roar up and down Kingshighway at all hours of the day and night.
— One sour staff member (affirmed by my roommate on a separate, unrelated occasion)
— Business center with no free printing.
I would live here again if the prices were a little lower and if I could find a way not to deal with the sour staff member.
