My child went to daycare here from 12 weeks old to 2.5 yrs. We would’ve kept him there, but we moved & it doesn’t work for us geographically anymore. I will say that A Place For Children is an absolutely wonderful place for infants. The owner, Gail, is just about the nicest lady on the planet. It’s a family business & her mother works there, as well as her older children on occasion. In the time that my little one went here, there was very little turnover in staff, and that really says something about the environment. The facility itself is two small houses side by side. The babies are in one house & the older kids in the other. There’s a small, mulched outdoor play area. This isn’t an in home daycare though… it’s an actual daycare center, so there are multiple people working & you don’t have to worry about them closing due illness or whatever(I’ve heard horror stories). And it’s tax deductible, because they’re state licensed. At the same time, it’s not as pricey as Montessori or one of the chain centers. I really can’t say enough good things about A Place For Children. It’s really easy to drive past it & not even realize that it’s there. I only knew about it from my Parents As Teachers rep. If you live in the Kirkwood or Sunset Hills area, and are in need of suitable daycare, I encourage you to check them out. Highly, highly recommended.
