I was going to Florida for vacation, and this place had just opened. I like to support local businesses, so I went for a pedicure. My mom decided to come along. We went on a weekday afternoon. There were two clients already there, and two employees. One of the workers got up to fill the basins when we told them that we wanted pedicures. I told her ‘Not too hot’. She replied«Yes! Hot!». I tried to explain that I’m sensitive to heat, but her English wasn’t good enough. She had us sit down and soak our feet, but I couldn’t because the water was scalding. She finally put a tiny bit of cold water in the basin, which of course was inadequate for cooling it down. She did this a couple more times before the other woman came over to find out what was wrong. I told HER that it was too hot and she emptied the basin and put in cooler water. My mom ended up with woman #1 for her pedicure, and was not pleased. The woman NEVER clipped her toenails, barely filed them, and couldn’t understand when my mom told her to check her ingrown nail, so never fixed it. Woman #2 did ok for me — my nails got painted, she did understand when I asked her to check an ingrown nail. However, within a week, my calluses had returned. Normally, after a pedicure, my feet are soft for at least two weeks, if not longer. And even though we got the basic pedi, we both felt that we didnt’ get as much as(ie: foot/leg massage) as we normally get where we usually go. We will NOT be going back.
