I was lucky enough to have lunch here while visiting from MS!!! I was so pleased with the exceptional customer experience I received! Everyone was friendly, I did not call my order in before hand, though I noticed the locals did! I order and dined in my food was delicious I order the baby backs and St. Louis style ribs with beans potato salad and peach cobbler!!! The baby backs ribs were my favorite! There was a lot of mustard in the potato salad, if you like that sort of thing… and the peach cobbler was a little runny but again we don’t shy away from our sugar in MS… but again it was all very tasty!!! I will absolutely be returning with family and friends!!!

Friendly folks, but the BBQ wasn’t particularly memorable. I had the STL ribs, brisket, and pulled pork combo. The ribs were good. The texture was great, but the flavor wasn’t that strong. Pulled pork was interesting, and the brisket was pretty good. One area of potential improvement — Roper’s does not currently offer cups of water. Bottled water is the only option. I’d give it a higher star of they offered free water and had more seating.

Good place for impressively large BBQ. Here is the place where jumbo fried shrimp are VERY jumbo. Flavors were good, and unique. I appreciated that they weren’t just another Pappy’s. Roper’s does it its own way.

The BESTBBQ in the region! We love BBQ and Roper’s does it the best. I’ve had the pulled pork, the pulled chicken, the ribs and the tips… none disappoint… and then there is the sweet customer service served up by Mama Roper. Cannot be beat!

I’m from TEXAS and I’ll even admit Roper’s Ribs can hang with the best of the best BBQ. I started going in my college days and still stop over when I’m back in St. Louis. The St. Louis ribs are delicious and amazingly tender. I especially enjoy the rib tips. The new dry rub is out of this world and that is my go to these days. If you aren’t in the mood for BBQ, the jumbo fried shrimp is probably the best I’ve ever had. There is a perfect hint of lemon that makes it mouthwatering, best eaten straight out of the fryer. There is not a lot of room to grub in the restaurant but there are a few tables that will suffice. And the Roper family will keep you entertained while you’re enjoying your meal. The daughter who took my order was really sweet and pretty hot too!

Best in the Midwest. Great place to get your food for holidays. Best family owned business. You can really get addicted to Roper’s Ribs. The Roper’s family are really nice to their customers, makes you feel part of the family. If you want good tasting BBQ, Ropers is the best place to get it.

Forget Pappy’s. This is DABESTBBQ in STLOUIS. By far, not even close. We drive almost an hour for carry-out(recommended) from Roper’s, it’s that good. Our favorites in order are: Stl style spare ribs, baby backs and rib tips. The pulled pork is also wonderful. The husband/wife team are nice people and take immense pride in their product. This is the real deal.

If you like«reality» in your BBQ, this is a great place. Family staffed, no place to park, few places to sit, no table service, and snoot on the menu(if I never get back to St. Lou I will regret this forever). I would give it 5 stars if the ribs were in any way original, they are not, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t pretty close to perfect. Grab a 40 and eat them in your car. A perfect Ferguson experience.

I got to try the ribs, tips, chicken, Polish, and baked beans and potato salad! Everything was delicious! Tender juicy and great sauce. I expected nothing less when I saw all the pictures from the neighborhood awards. It’s the perfect hole in the wall bbq and I have never had bad food from a whole in the wall

Absolutely fantastic! Had the BBQ wings, baby backs and the St. Louis style ribs. Meat fell off the bones, was hot and fresh. Huge portions! If you’re in the area, it’s a must go!

This was my first time eating at Roper’s Ribs despite having passed by the place for many years. If dining in the place is very small with just a few tables. It is something of a hole in the wall but not in a bad way. What it lacks in space and décor the owners have made up for by placing fresh cut flowers on the table which is a rarity for the area in which the restaurant is located. Also, the customer service was fantastic. I tried the rib tips, snoot, brisket and potato salad. I enjoyed the sauce which was not overly sweet. The rib tips and the snoots were the standouts among my purchase. The rib tips were very tender and the snoots were crispy and meaty. The portion size of the sandwiches was more than adequate and the price was very reasonable compared to some other places in town. If you are in the area I would say stop by and get some solid St. Louis style BBQ.

I wish I could give this place 10STARS… Best ribs and bbq chicken wings I have ever had. And the shrimp are HUGE… Gotta have the house-made tater sauce with them. had so much food we ate Roper’s for dinner and breakfast lol… service was exceptional. ROper’s ribs is a TRUEGEM in the city of St. Louis. Be sure to vote for them for the Steve Harvey neighborhood awards.

Always consistent. Always hot. Always friendly. Always happy. Best rib tips ever and they have the best jumbo shrimp if you ask me. Never fishy. Potato salad is solid too. That’s all I can speak on because that’s all me and my family ever order.

Went to Roper’s this week on a business trip to STL. We all walked away amazed by the quality of the food and the great value it represented. I am a bit of a rib snob and I thought the baby back ribs were potentially the best I have ever had. Great place!

Alright Ropers. You might be my new favorite BBQ in town. Came here with a group of friends and got to try basically the full menu. First off: They are nice! We ordered, rib tips, st louis style ribs, and wings, and all their sides. The water was frozen that day so they decided to give us free drinks and for some reason also let us try their snoots. They use a rub and sweet tangy bbq sauce. It seems that they dont smoke their meats but everything here was amazingly tender. Portions are extremely generous and prices are cheap and fair. We got the coleslaw, fries, potato salad and baked beans and all of those were also solid. Really I can’t describe how good this place is, for the price, portions and taste. You definitely have to come try this place out. The only downside is: It is quite hard to eat here. They only have 3 or 4 tables(that only fit 2 people each) so if you want to dine in, I guess luck would have to be on your side if you have a bigger party.

Roper’s Ribs blessed my life! I am partial to the BBQ I grew up on as a kid, and have never had any restaurant even come close to debunking them. Roper’s Ribs was very different than my childhood preference, but was absolutely delicious. I ordered the rib tips and fried shrimp combo with potato salad and baked beans. It was a generous portion and well dressed in a sweet, tangy well seasoned sauce. The shrimp were large, freshly fried and also well seasoned. I would suggest calling in your order, or you will have about a 30 min wait. Food is prepared fresh and this is a small establishment therefore not ideal to dine in.

A Choose Three + an extra side is a good lunch for two. We enjoyed Rib Tips, Brisket and St. Louis Style Ribs with Baked Beans and then added Potato Salad as our extra side. We were amazed at the size of the portions of the three meats. We were so full after eating lunch, we didn’t need dinner The potato salad was a mustard base, which is my favorite. It was big chunks of potatoes, cooked perfectly. Not too soft and not overly firm. It was the kind of potato salad you’d see at a family picnic made by your favorite Aunt. The Baked Beans were in a thin runny sauce, but seasoned well. The four St. Louis Style Ribs were meaty and had just the right amount of BBQ sauce. Of the three meats, the Brisket was my favorite. Multiple slices of tender brisket, smothered in their BBQ sauce that has a tangy, vinegar tang taste. Seeing the other reviews rave about the Rib Tips, I ordered them as our third meat. Neither of us were impressed with the tips, which cost them the 4th star. Roper’s is a true Mom and Pop BBQ joint and it will be mom and pop serving you. They are friendly, personable and they both make sure you feel at home in their little restaurant. So if you are in north Saint Louis and craving BBQ, stop by Roper’s for a treat of down home BBQ.

Roper’s may just be the best rib joint in Saint Louis. Went here on a warm day in St. Louis. Entered a small building with a few tables for waiting for takeout. Not a place for eat in for sure. Be prepared for the north side, not your west county crowd but surely a rib loving clientele. Ordered the Ribs, Brisket, Pulled pork, chicken, and Rib ends with every side available. I was told the pig snout is great but I couldn’t bring myself to order it. Any way the baby back ribs were the biggest ribs I’ve eaten. They were 24 for a slab but worth it based on weight so meaty. The BBQ is sauced KC style and the meat was tender and fantastic, among the best I’ve eaten. The Brisket is the BEST i’ve eaten. it was properly cooked and each piece was marked on a grill a few minutes. The pulled pork was solid but not at this lofty level. The Chicken was dry and should not avoided. The rib bits were fatty and nothing outstanding. the sides were like KFC sides, sorry here. But if you want the best Ribs and or Brisket you must try Ropers. Remember they are sauced and not dry rubbed. I didn’t love their sauce but the Q is worth the trip.

I will admit that I heard about this place based on the Hoodie awards nominations — so I had to try it. So, the restaurants name has«ribs» in the title so I went for the Ribs. Ordered a ½ slab of Baby back ribs, slaw, and green beans. Nearly 20 mins later, food was ready. Presentation was nice, my ribs were a bit charred on the edges and hard to eat — overall ok. The sauce was definite highlight. Slaw and green beans were only ok. Based on other reviews I think I need a couple more visits to checkout the brisket and rib tips. Parking was a bit interesting. I parked on a gravel parking lot behind the building — but I am not sure if I was supposed to park there.

Roper’s, how have I managed not to rate you yet? Ok, here goes. The rib tips are outstanding… tender, meaty, sauced well, priced right, large portions. I dig the brisket sandwich, even though it’s messy, massive, and you’ll be forced to knife & fork it. The polish… foot long, $ 3.75, loaded with that delicious sauce, it’s a meal in itself. I like the baked beans, and the fries… though for me, sides are usually a distant second at BBQ joints. The prices are fair, the atmosphere is dive-y in a good way, and the food is good eats… how could I not love this place? That’s why Roper’s has become my go-to spot for BBQ in St. Louis.
