Our Mission:

SMART Choices St. Louis has a mission to improve the lives of children and youth in danger through our after-​school program, domestic disaster relief and street outreach for homeless teens. For starters, after-​school is the tipping point for many youth because their lives can become toxic due to their environment. Our goal is to create an enriching atmosphere in which they will thrive, become active and healthy in both mind and body.

Secondly, when disasters strike — families with children are the most vulnerable, therefore we are onsite to bring a sense of normalcy by providing essentials like water, food and clothing to survivors.

Lastly, we aim to reduce human trafficking by providing homeless teens with emergency care packages, a ride to a safe bed and case management which includes job placement and supportive services to permanently get them off the street.

History

Established in 2011.

Our after-​school program is the cornerstone of our organization because it literally transforms at-​risk children and youth. Our goal is to create an enriching atmosphere in which they may thrive. Become active and healthy, in both mind and body.

Business Owner

The President/​Executive Director has a background in Adolescent Mental Health Counseling, Family Counseling and Case Management. Her formal education includes a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management.
