WORSTBAR in Soulard. Music is terrible, the«live music» is a joke, atmosphere is trashy at best — and not in a charming, dive bar kind of way. It seems to have been closed for the last few weekends, I’m keeping my fingers crossed maybe it’s shut down or changed owners or something — ANYTHING is better than the current state.

Great beer garden but with the cozy hole in the wall inside space. Affordable drinks with a friendly staff with a be nice or leave attitude. Projector outside for all home games and ice cold everything. –Cheers

Went here for the first time and gotta say wasn’t great. The doorman was Pissed we showed up which I found real weird considering the lack of patrons. He thoroughly questioned my ID(I’m 26) and asked me why I was there… Told him to drink beers and take a hike basically. He loved that. The regulars mean mugged my friends and I for awhile but that just added to my intrigue. I enjoy being a part of the cool kids club even if it means I get angry stares. Beer was cheap and the bartender was nice. Couple people were smoking squares which also added to the coolest kid in town vibe. I won’t be back.

Awesome bar in St. Louis! Dog and people friendly, with good musicians that provide great live music from time to time. I’ve had many great times at Sonny’s: from World Cup games on the TV to playing the Nintendo’s Punch-Out on the projector by the outside bar. Just good times for all!

This place is a drinker’s worst nightmare. Staff completely took advantage of their power over the customers. Not only do you see them breaking the law by doing drugs in the bathrooms, but when challenged for a charge on my tab, they laughed in my face. I stopped by to meet up with a friend when I got off work and had one beer before leaving to go home. They charged me for 6 of a completely different kind than what I actually had in my hand. The staff was completely rude and treated me like I was a drunk idiot when I was talking to them. I have been here before, but now I will never go back.

WORSTBARINSOULARD. This place is a collection of all the things I hate in a bar. Horrible service(the bartender actually walked away from me mid order so she could pour shots for her friends that just walked in) The bouncer are goons(I’m 30, don’t push me around like a teenager at a house party just so you can get to the bathroom to do another line off the toilet) The drinks are overpriced and watered down(I actually saw the bartender do a half second pour for my whiskey coke) Seriously there are no redeeming qualities to this place, if it were on Bar Rescue, Jon Taffer would just say burn it down and start over.

WORSTBAREVER. Paid $ 20 for the juke box to have some woman sitting at the bar fast forward through all of the songs. When confronted about the situation, the staff just laughed and ignored me despite the fact that they knew what had happened. Only go here if you want to do hard drugs with the low life staff

THISPLACEDESERVESZEROSTARS. We’re locals to the Soulard area, so we spend a lot of time at the nearby watering holes. We were here tonight, and put a great deal of money into the juke box. But then we had every single song skipped by a member of the staff, who had a key control to skip every single song we spent our hard earned money on. And it wasn’t one of those«pay more to hear your song first» situations. They were BLATANTLY skipped when the song would start. When the staff was confronted about the situation, they did nothing but laugh. We were deeply offended because we are close residents of this establishment who go here all of the time and were treated like absolute GARBAGE. Word to the wise, only go here if you like to waste money or see people/the staff do hard drugs in the bathroom.

Typical dive bar – nothing too special. No kitchen, fenced in/gated patio. Huge projector usually playing on outside wall.

Sonny’s is really my kind of place. Well, that’s because they rock early 90’s pure hip hop music round the clock. The minute I step into this place, they seem to play all of my favorite hip hop numbers one after another, and I LOVETHAT. I also like that you can smoke inside here(crowd boos at me). Sorry, but I still like to light up from time to time inside a bar. But nonetheless, I LOVE this place for its commitment to hip hop music. I’ll have to come back again.

Not a fan. Not a good selection in beer. If I wanted a AB product I could get a six pack and stay home. The highlight of the evening with the birthday cake shot which was too sweet to have more than one. Our group of 25 stayed maybe 20 minutes.

Sonny’s is a small dog friendly neighborhood bar in Soulard that is open from noon until 1:30 am daily. They have a full bar, darts, jukebox, tv’s and an outdoor patio with a small bar that is popular during the nice weather months. On weekends they have live music outside. Prices are reasonable. The bar can get pretty smoky at times and the bartenders were getting a little raunchy and unfriendly for awhile, but that seems to have improved. Yay.

Whenever I visit the family in Soulard this is my favorite local watering hole. It is a great little bar and a good way to pass a lazy evening. You can also be a patio daddy-o, which makes boozing in the late evening almost impossible to avoid

at first, sonny’s seems like another small neighborhood bar on the island of soulard. cute bartender and a few locals, along with the owner, all hanging out. then the older gentlemen show up. LOTS of older gentlemen. then the cute bartender puts shots(that you did not order) in front of you and your friends. you assume that these are comp shots(something that happens often in the neighborhood, an action that helps inspire loyalty from the locals-me included). then you get your tab — and an extra $ 20 has been added to your tab. she seems to think that this is an acceptable charge. maybe the bartenders here get away with this with their«older» clientele, but comp shots are called«comp» for a reason. i have no problem paying for the drinks i order, but this is NOT acceptable, and i will NOT be back.
