We went there recently on a quest for grape now and laters. They were the only place that I could find them near St. Louis. When I called the woman I spoke with on the phone was extremely polite and very helpful. When we went there later in the weekend we were pleasantly surprised by all of the things that they had. They were a little on the expensive end and we ended up spending more money than we had planned. But hey that happens in a candy and toy store! Staff was very nice. We will definitely go back.

I miss the Original Spicer’s. It use to be one of my favorite stores. When it closed, I was so sad, but took advantage of it’s Going Out of Business sales. When this new Spicer’s reopened with a very similar format, I was happy again. I once again, had a fun place to shop for unique children’s gifts and even for adults who had a child trapped within. Now I’m sad again, my last visit was a total disappointment. The shelves were sparsely stocked, merchandising looked haphazard and the variety of quality merchandise was lacking. Which made me wonder if we may be seeing another going out of business sale soon. I was greeted by the lone employee, but beyond a «hello» there was no customer service. This visit was so disappointing, that I may never return and I love to shop and give gifts. Times have changed, times are a changing, but I want my original Spicer’s back. It truly was a trip over the rainbow.

This place is OKAY. It had a wide selection of toys and educational materials, which is nice. I actually found a lot of the things I was looking for at Spicers… however, the prices were more expensive than Amazon. So I did not end up actually purchasing anything. If I needed something quickly, I would go to Spicers. But since I was able to wait, I decided to go with . Employees were very friendly, though.

This place is amazing. Games and puzzles. Lots of things I haven’t seen in years. Many card games. Candy. I’d call it penny candy, but it wasn’t. Lots of sour candy, pixie sticks, Laffy Taffy, that kind of thing. I think the only thing chocolate I saw was Rollo’s. Science section for the junior scientist. Very fun. Lots of stuff I’d never seen, like a massive gun that shoots marshmallows — a couple versions. They looked like those huge water guns. Larger toys, such as a two-story dollhouse and a child kitchen. Balls, Lacrosse rackets. Balls and bats — all plastic. Massive plastic golf clubs with balls. Dress-up jewelry and costumes. Dolls. Stuffed animals. It’s just an amazing place. Takes me back years, It’s not like any other store for children’s toys that I’ve ever been.

Oh this place is a Ladue staple… and wow… what a random… well…junk store. You can find more useless junk here than anywhere in the metro area. They have every little random toy you coudl ever think of. It’s like the dollar store but with way better stuff and not everything is a dollar. That said, not anything is that expensive either. If you are looking for great gag gifts, this is the only place you need to go. If you need to fill up favor bags for a little kids birthday party, this is the place to go, if you want random grab bag toys for a school carnival… again, this is the place to go. It was closed for a while but now it has re-opened. So glad it re-opened. This is the last of the true five and dime stores. Even if you aren’t shopping you need to stop by here, it’s just an experience… and who doesn’t love random junk?
