My visit to The Juice Box couldn’t have been any more awkward. I was in the middle of a 7 day juice cleanse and helped my brother move to St. Louis. I brought my juicer but forgot a key part. After lots of freaking out I came to my senses and realized that I was in a large city. There must be people in St. Louis that juice, right? I did some researching on where in the area I could get fresh juices and mistakenly decided on this place. When we walked in the front door the main room was completely vacant. A man greeted us at the door and said hello and then told us that the«store» was in the back room. Unfortunately the back room was even more odd than the first, very large, empty room. There were two cooler cases with about 6 items in them, NONE of them juice. There was a women sitting at a small table near the window on her laptop who I’m assuming was some relation to the man we met or business partner at the least. She didn’t even bother to look up from her computer. I was with my brother, my boyfriend and my 6 year old son. After standing in the tiny back room for a few minutes of total uncomfortable silence(I’m pretty sure we were all standing, staring with our mouths wide open.) we decided it was time to leave. The man intercepted us before we could escape but didn’t say anything. So I asked, «You guys don’t make juice here?» He then told me that they haven’t completed the restaurant yet but that they are in the process. Looking at the other reviews it looks like they’ve been in process of opening for years. Years!!! What is going on here? Is this business a cover for something? It is incredibly odd and I would definitely not suggest wasting your time and going here since it basically doesn’t exist.

I actually wrote this at the end of 2008, but I’m aware they’re still open, check them out: I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner of The Juice Box for a good 45min. He is very passionate about veganism and has big plans for this restaurant in the area. Everything is going to be fully vegan [Smoothies, Desserts, Supplements, Juices, Etc.]. There is parking in the empty lot across the street. Be sure to call before you go to make sure they’re open! This place has a lot of potential, please stop by!
