The Lab School

We placed our child here for a short time. We liked the school at first and the staff were very nice too. I don’t enjoy giving bad ratings but the school must have gone down hill over the years because we found it to be lacking in almost every way. The playground was dirty, the sand boxes filthy, old leaves and tree limbs littered the area and what particularly worried us were the very very old and very very large and untrimmed trees that hung right over where the children played. We took our child out of this school when two teachers took the entire class on a walking field trip to the Kirkwood Train Station which is a very long walk for a 3 year old. There were only two adults. They said the trip was cancelled and so we did not show up to help as planned but the teachers changed their minds and decided to go at the last minute and went without enough help! This is unacceptable to take a class of toddlers such a distance and then across busy streets (Kirkwood Road!) with only two adults and a class of children. Our toddler fell down and came home with scraped knees (no band aids) and said I fell while crossing the street and no one helped me. Last but not least, we constantly had to dodge several other groups of older children who were playing ball in the parking lot and driveway area where the drop off parking is located.

Outstanding, quality education of children ages three to five. All of my children thrived under the guidance of the degreed teachers. Traditional preschool as well as extended care to meet the needs of all families. My children couldn’t have had a better experience!
