History

Established in 2005.

We originally opened as Beat the Bookstore in 2005. We changed our name to The Textbook Game as it truly is a game between the textbook authors, the publishers, the university bookstores, and the students. Except who usually loses the game? The STUDENTS! We can help students SAVE money & get MORE money back! We moved to our new location in 2009 and have been lining students pockets with money by buying their unwanted textbooks ever since! We sell used college textbooks at STEEP discounts — better value even than ordering off places like Amazon or Chegg! We’ve added book rentals to our offerings too — so no need to go to any other bookstore for your college textbook needs. Plus our business is local and family owned — we care about our customers!

Debbie believes that students deserve a fair price for their used books — whether they are buying or selling them. Not a price based on a formula, but a price based on each book’s actual market value. The same pricing system used online from retailer’s such as Ama​zon​.com.

The student wins the game at The TextbookGame because when you’re buying a book you pay the same fair price as you would pay to order online only you don’t have to wait for it to be shipped and delivered or run the risk of receiving the wrong book after all that! Then when you’re selling your used books you don’t have to package your book up, mail it and then wait for a check or a credit — you get your money the same day!
